⋯⋯⋯⋯ Of course, Jasper is indeed found draped across Michael's bed with a jacket that's just a bit too big and surely can't be his, lying next to him rather than worn over his shoulders. The sleeves of his equally - too - big hoodie were pulled over his hands, thumbs poking through the self - made holes in the hems and distracted with his phone― the only thing lighting his face, aside from a back porch light shining through the cracked window, until the bedroom light is flicked on.

Phone was set aside once Michael spoke, though, so Jas could prop himself up on his elbows. “If you must know, blackbird, I was supposed to break into Tucker's place.” A blatant lie, told with a tone of blatant sarcasm and an uneven smirk. “He upgraded the locks on his windows to spite me.”

( sms: jasper 🖤 ) won't be lonely this time, at least. ( sms: jasper 🖤 ) speaking of, i'm pulling up. there better not be anything broken, alright ?

soon enough, there's the rattle of the front door's handle and the crinkle of a plastic bag. when michael doesn't see jasper anywhere in the front rooms he sighed softly ━ must still be playing in his coats, then. he kicked his shoes off and set down the bag on his kitchen counter, settling on grabbing a bottle of wine from its contents and making his way to his bedroom.

as michael twisted the bottle open, he nudged the door open to reveal jasper indeed in his room still. he leaned his shoulder against the doorway and took a drink from the bottle. with a soft sigh, he offered jasper an amused look.

Tweek was not one for parties, either, but he had his reasons for going.  If nothing else, they were usually pretty warm with all those bodies around, and they were something that he had started forcing himself to endure more often.  Michael had never been much of a party animal, either, so seeing him here, Tweek slipped through the crowd toward him.  They might at least be able to commiserate a little.

“Yes, despite my best efforts,” Tweek remarked dryly.  The Goth Kids were champions of that kind of gallows’ humor and probably some of the only people he could employ it around without getting strange looks.  He wasn’t always in the mood for little quips like that, but sometimes, something was so sad that it became funny, or you had to laugh about it to resist crying.

“I’m here,” he said, with a small gesture to a group of people who were lethargically stumbling back and forth in their chosen tile of carpet than dancing.  “So, n-not as well as I could be doing.”

He wrapped his arms around himself, pulling at the fabric of his sleeves, and looked up, way up, at Michael with the faint traces of a smile.  “You look like the second most miserable guy at this party, so I figured I’d come say ‘hi.’”

If Pete were more prone to humor, he may have thought that a joke. As if he cared enough about his classes to attend them consistently— he was passing, regardless, so who gave a shit if he missed a few. They’d still be there for him to opt to attend tomorrow, and the next day, and for weeks to come. Whenever he wanted to subject himself to the hell of sitting among his so-called peers for 90 minutes, the outdated classrooms that reeked of unwashed teenage boys, hormones and what was probably mold, would be there waiting.

Instead, once more, he rolls his eyes, paired with another flip of his hair as he turns to look over his shoulder.

Something being going outside intending to relax, maybe somwhere off-campus, with an hour of silence and a cigarette, only to be met with the sight of Michael, needing to be cleaned up. (He’s aware, really, that the injuries are small in the grand scheme of things. Truly nothing Michael can’t handle by himself. But Pete would prefer to see they actually, properly get cared for, anyways. And perhaps, pry into what exactly had happened.)

— He refocuses on the path before them only once a door is in their way, leading Michael into the school purely to make their way to the quietest bathroom, often unused due to the fucked up plumbing the school board hadn’t cared to fix in however many years. As good a place as any to take stock of Michael’s injuries.

— ❝ Shouldn’t you be doing something better than getting into a fight ? ❞

What a waste of energy. Or something.

it wasn't often that michael got into fights. shocking, with the anger issues that still lingered from his childhood. but today a fight had happened, one that michael quickly handled ━ not without resistance, of course. now his lip was busted, his knuckles bruised, and pete was taking it upon himself to take care of him.

despite his protests, michael didn't budge out of pete's grip. he wanted to keep up his act, but he also knew that pete wasn't going to give up on this.

            ❝ what are you even doing out here? shouldn't you be like . . . in class, or something? ❞
