Finished the squeeks line! If you couldn’t tell ive redesigned them a lot more because I personally found the original designs kind of lacking for some of them (mainly the gemsqueek if I’m being honest, how are you going to have a squirrel live in the clouds and then copy and paste the chipsqueek model, the lack of pizzazz infuriates me)

Anyways onto the headcanons!

- chipsqueeks compulsively store acorns in their bushy tail for either combat or snacks, they also collect sticks for chewing to keep their front teeth shaved down and for building nests. Its not uncommon for leaves and moss to get stuck on their fur, chipsqueeks intentionally keep said leaves and moss for added camouflage

- A furpys fur is dense and fluffy due to the cold climate it has adapted to live in, many hunters seek out their fur to make insulated clothes out of for cold winter nights. People with tamed furpys take great pride in keeping their luxurious fur fluffy and cuddly

- MunchSqueeks are constantly on the hunt for food, though living in a lava cave system doesnt leave them with much options, most of their meals come from dropped food from careless or fleeing adventurers, withered weeds that just barely managed to grow before drying out or hunting weak flower lions as they’re the only monster they’re capable of hunting. If truly desperate for food they use their strong front teeth to nibble on minerals. To combat the heat munchsqueeks have thin fur, thick pawpads and release a substantial amount of heat from their tails and eartips. To defend themselves they “flare up”, heating up spots on their body before launching small flames at you

- Chippersqueeks are highly territorial, using their unusual size and strength (for a squeek) to intimidate other monsters that dare step even five feet within its territory. Chippersqueeks are incredibly agile, almost acrobatic, leaping from tree to tree and using the membrane on its arms to soar in the sky and using its tail and the membrane on it to steer

- Sneaksqueeks, as their name implies, prefer to stay hidden and away from most creatures except from other sneaksqueeks, with members of their own species theyre very communal and cuddle together to preserve warmth. Sneaksqueeks spend most of their time searching for food and sleeping in order to preserve their energy, living in insulated dens where they store food and live with at least ten other members of their group. A Sneaksqueeks fur is as fluffy if not more than a furpys, but not many monster hunters are willing to enter the freezing crystal caverns to retrieve their pelts

- Gemsqueeks are considered mythical as are all of the other monsters that live in cloudheim, it is said a gemsqueek gets their name from the numerous gems it stores in its fur. Some speculate the gems they collect fell from passing shooting stars, other speculate they make the gems and when they fall off thats where shooting stars really come from, the only consistent belief is that their fur is said to be heavenly soft and lighter than air, lazily napping and leaping from cloud to cloud without a care in the world
