1 ) ZELDA WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO 'KIDNAP' AEON. mind you, she was like 10 and she didn't make it very far all things considered, but the attempt was still there. it's not like you could blame her either, considering she just watched her best friend become bonded with an extremely rare loftwing and form an instant connection. childish jealousy was bound to rear its head, and of course that would lead to many adult nights finding zelda hanging off of links loftwing as it looked at her with the most unamused expression the bird could muster. this event honestly helped solidify their friendship even more, and any time aeon isn't easy to find, link will joke about zelda having stolen him away again.

2 ) DO NOT ASK EITHER OF THEM WHEN THEIR ANNIVERSARY IS. THEY WILL BOTH GIVE YOU A DIFFERENT ANSWER. the funniest thing about them getting together romantically is that they never talked about it. karane and pipit started making comments about them being together and considering neither of them were denying it, they just agreed they were dating. it wasn't until gaepora asked when did they finally make it official and they both said very different dates did they realize that not once had they actually talked about it. zelda's father proceeded to laugh at them about this for a week, commenting that 'he would expect nothing less from them'

3 ) THEY CAN AND WILL TURN EVERYTHING INTO A COMPETITION. this is one we've talked about, but they are so goddamn competitive with one another, even over the smallest things. link may win during their sparring matches, but zelda always wins their archery competition. link might be faster on the minecarts in lanayru ( although zelda will never admit it ), but zelda has a higher score on fun fun island. it doesn't matter how small or big it is, these two will find a way to make it a competition, and do have an active scoreboard going on who is currently winning the most competitions ( it's link )

4 ) ZELDA HAD SNUCK ONE OF HER LOFTWING'S FEATHER'S INTO LINK'S UNIFORM WITHOUT HIM KNOWING. in skyloftian culture, giving someone a loftwing feather is a sign of extreme trust, and is typically an extremely romantic gesture, almost mirror that of a marriage proposal. while zelda was never vocal about her reasoning behind doing it, a lot of the older members of skyloft had noticed the blue feather before link had, which lead to them giving him a lot of strange looks, especially considering zelda wasn't sporting the bright crimson feather on herself. the moment link found the feather he chased zelda down, absolutely determined to stick his corresponding feather somewhere on her. it finally ended up in her hair when he finally found her and she gave up running.

" ... s-sorry, what was that? " Despite his freckles being a normally PROMINENT feature on his face, they are overshadowed, and swiftly, by the fluster that soon settles 'pon his cheeks. The star student is staring at Link as if the hero has grown a second or third head, and all Pipit can do, after several seconds of awkward staring and pregnant silence, is cover his face with a hand and look away. " Y-You sound like my mother... jeeze... " Yet the effect is vastly and noticeably DIFFERENT for reasons Pipit cannot quite put into words, despite all his studying and wealth of knowledge.

" --- wait, what!? Who's... spreading information!? I'll have a word with them immediately! " Note that the aspiring knight did not say ' FALSE ' information. Mayhap he has FORGOTTEN amidst his fluster, or perhaps he is so against LYING that he cannot bring himself to, even now.

Regardless, 'tis not a topic he would like to linger on.

Link is just going to casually slip a couple of silver rupees in Pipit's pouch when he next passes by him. He has to be pay him back somehow for the help he's given him.

Unfortunately for this ' MYSTERIOUS ' benefactor, he has chosen the WRONG person to slip money to. When Pipit returns home and finds that his WALLET is a bit . . . heavier than last he remembered, his legs then proceed to carry him swiftly to Headmaster Gaepora's office, where the extra funds are turned into the Lost & Found for eventual retrieval. Perhaps he'd simply found it whilst on patrol, and had forgotten to turn it in, hence how it had ended up in his wallet in the first place.

Such is the life of an around-the-clock overachiever.

If nothing else, though, Link has, unknowingly, given Pipit his feel goodsy ' do-gooder ' boost of the day, so it's . . . something, at least.

" Link. Hey. I turned in some rupees to Headmaster Gaepora's office, just as a heads up. I can't remember when, or WHERE I may have found them, but I must have picked them up while patrolling. " He gestures towards the academy, as if expecting a look of RECOGNITION to cross Link's features. They HAD to have belonged to the Hero, right ? Nobody else would be carrying that much on them, unless they were headed to the Bazaar. " Even if it's not yours, you can take it, on my behalf, once the retrieval time period has run out. I'm sure you'll find something beneficial to use it for. "

--- and off he goes, crossing yet another ' helpful ' task off his never-ending list.

" What gave it away? " The clatter of his teeth? The TIGHT hold of his arms 'round his own body? The flush of freckled cheeks? Skyloft's weather is far more consistent in comparison to the Surface, but the aspiring knight is too ashamed to admit that, mayhap, he approached a situation woefully ill prepared, for once. He'd brought plenty of provisions, tools, and even worked TIRELESSLY for his weapon certification so he could bring something more reliable than a wooden sword, but apparently, ' a shift in climate ' had bypassed his normally obsessive attentiveness.

The warm fabric that is gently situated 'round his neck is WELCOMED, despite the shame that comes with it. Link, though far more knowledgeable of what to expect down here, should NOT be put in a position where he has to look after his senior. Pipit had come down here with the intent to HELP explore and chart this newfound territory, not to be another life for Link to fret over. " ... thanks. " Yet, he cannot deny the comfort the scarf brings, even beyond it warding off the biting chill that had seized Pipit's body. It's thick, and soft... had retained Link's scent, too. " And you're sure you don't need this for yourself? You can take it back if you start to get cold yourself--- honestly, the a lesson learned is a valuable lesson. "

Though, with the way Pipit has somewhat shuffled his lips and nose further down into the fabric, one may suspect he doesn't ACTUALLY want to give it back.

. . . SERIOUSLY ? Is this the day he meets his downfall ? Where his shiny, perfect reputation is brought to its knees and executed on the spot ? Perhaps he's being a bit . . . dramatic. It isn't as if this will get back to the Hero . . . right ?

It was so nice of Mallara to let him crash in Pipit's bed, he'd been too tired to make it to his room at the Academy after Aeon had dropped him off at the town's sqaure. Extra bonus that all that dust he cleared out the other day hadn't yet returned. So here Link was, starfished over the covers, snoozing away even if it was only the middle of the afternoon.

" . . . . . "

It was not the PERSON in the bed, but rather, the fact there was someone in his bed at ALL. Pipit's METICULOUS morning routine included ensuring his bed was left looking crisp and pristine before departure, and though Link may have been COURTEOUS enough to plop himself ATOP the neatly laid sheets and quilt, there was still the matter of it being somewhat WRINKLED whenever he did rise again.

--- and, really, who took a nap at an hour like THIS ? When there was so much that could be done around the island, either recreationally or academically ? Had it been anyone else, the SUFFERING that came with having to listen to one of Pipit's long, reprimanding speeches surely would have been forced down like a hammer to steel, but . . . it's Link.

Lazy and unmotivated when it came to the academy, yes, but when LAST had Pipit caught him napping around the island since Zelda had gone missing ?

It didn't take a GENIUS ( and Pipit liked to consider himself something of one ) to realize that Link was working TIRELESSLY to bring her back home. He was the only one who COULD, after all. As oft as Pipit had observed him coming back at night, barely able to remain upright and likely injured, to some degree, he knew the Surface was unrelentingly cruel. The Hero had EARNED a nap, this time . . . even if it was in Pipit's once neatly made bed.

. . . ah, well. He focuses better at his desk, anyway, and it's exactly where he sits to begin studying, watching over Link for as long as the Hero needs, just to get some peaceful rest. Mayhap, even ( time permitting ), he could prepare some things for Link to take with him, as a showing of support. Anything to help, where Pipit had been feeling pretty useless since all of this went down.

Guess who fell asleep in the shade of a building waiting for Pipit? Certainly not Link - there must be some other green-clad knight napping the afternoon away!

' OTHER green-clad knight, ' huh? Funny, because Pipit could have sworn he knew every single knight, professor, child, Loftwing, AND landmark on this island! This one -- this SLUMBERING young man who looks STRIKINGLY similar to a certain boyfriend of his -- couldn't possibly be anyone ELSE, right? Right, just another knight ! Not his Link, not his silly, sleepyheaded partner.

... still, something could HAPPEN to this poor, unsuspecting knight if Pipit doesn't hang around to retain the peace. Hopefully, he shan't mind if the freckled patrolman takes a seat beside him and scoots just a bit closer, then? Just... to make sure his nap remains undisturbed.

Perhaps, even, he'll hold his hand, too, as an added means of comfort and security.

Whether or not Pipit has other plans right now doesn't seem to concern the younger knight - and any questions or protests that his partner may have are responded to with a mischievous grin as Link tugs the brunet towards the waterfall at the other end of Skyloft. The sun is starting to set, and while Link knows that they'll need to head inside soon, they have enough time for this. As he draws Pipit close to the edge of the water, Link's hand releases the older boy's, though only so that he might loop his arms up around Pipit's neck instead. Pushing himself up onto the balls of his feet, he coaxes the freckled knight down until he's able slant his mouth over the other's in a slow kiss. Today's been a long one, and he sees no problem having a bit of time to themselves - a bit of intimacy before the day ended...

Naturally, there's a protest just WAITING to announce its departure, with a reminder that soon, the brunet would be expected to take his post for his patrol route once the sun began to set. Early was on time, on time was LATE, and Pipit was a prim, proper, PUNCTUAL senior with little free time to spend doing much else besides something productive...

... unless Link was in the equation. Always able to balance out Pipit's workaholic tendencies and REMIND the aspiring knight that it was OKAY to have his head in the clouds sometimes, there were occasions where even the great Pipit could not offer up an argument, such as now. He seemed all too pleased, almost EAGER, to be tugged along towards the picturesque waterfall, where he knew there would be a generous opportunity for privacy and self indulgence. 'Twas not often they could do this... not without risk of prying eyes, or one of them being called away to do something. Everything about their relationship had to be strategically planned, or conveniently tucked behind closed doors in the bits and pieces of alone time they COULD seize.

Instead of protesting, then, Pipit sinks. Lets the warmth consume him and that obsessively needy side of him push through, after so long of it being shoved down and concealed. Independence was a highly valued trait, almost to the point of self destruction, yet it would seem Link was capable of easily bringing out the BEST of him, in the rarest of forms. " Hey, " comes a breathless mutter in betwixt kisses, fingers having long since tugged askew Link's tunic, roughly and shamelessly, and still retaining their wanting grip to keep him close and rooted, " I'm on Route C tonight, over near the bazaar--- " A pause, their forms clumsily swaying back and forth as the wind slightly picked up, though lips never strayed far from one another...

" I'd really like it if you... came and found me sometime tonight, so we can continue this in full. A true knight never lets something of such monumental importance go undone... "
