@museswithattitude / RAIKAGE A
Centuries since her last dispatch to the Living World, she wasn’t entirely certain what to expect. But the follies of man and phantom alike weren’t so different— though separated by a veil of death between their respective realms, it seemed as though souls were destined to die at the hands of one another. Life, battle, death, rebirth, all moving parts in the greater cycle of the universe; varying stages of existence she knew all too intimately. In a forest clearing ravaged by war and violence, she stood as a singularity. As she maneuvered through the dense surrounding thicket of trees, she smelled the heavy scent of fresh blood. Her days spent as a hunter had long since ended, yet she was drawn to its source all the same.
A man lay slumped just beyond a well-hidden cave’s interior, gripping the ruined stump of his arm in an attempt to staunch his bleeding. The atmosphere around him bristled strangely with lingering currents of electricity, energy fluctuating with the remnants of... not kidou, she thought, perhaps something similar, but altogether different.  A perplexing notion, but Unohana was nothing if not well acquainted with contradictions and an air of mystery.
If he perceived her presence, he didn’t readily betray any sense of recognition (and understandably so —preoccupied with his injury as he was).

“If you can hear or see me at all,” came the gentle, authoritative lilt of her voice, “—please understand, I’d like to help you.” She knelt beside him, hands poised over his wound as she murmured a kaidou spell. Engulfed in the pale green glow of her incantation, she began to heal him.
