#music hobby villagers are menaces to society
Text
"omg having a villager with the music hobby must be so fun bc they can sing anywhere, even if there's no radio" wrong. what a villager with the music hobby really means is that while another villager is singing along to the radio i set up in front of the plaza so my villagers without the music hobby can put on little performances, they will come stand just outside of the range of the plaza radio and sing a completely different song at the same time and activate my fight or flight response due to auditory overload

So, about the gold saints, how do you think each of them fit in modern life outside of sanctuary? Like hobbies or side occupations, or doing normal, mundane things in the city or dealing with technology like tv, cars and phones and etc? The sanctuary is so detached from outside that could as well be stagnated in another time period, but I suppose that most of them have a social life or a "normal" persona since they are almost never in the sanctuary unless summoned. The anime anime showed it a bit regarding the bronze saints, but I was always curious about the golden ones 😩
Sorry for the wait, I’ve been busy.
Well, let’s see... as a disclaimer, I will say that I mostly headcanon them living at the Sanctuary (they have private chambers in the temples), so I didn’t thoroughly think about this. But I have some ideas, because I love putting these characters in the world we know.  In my own worldbuiling I have for them, they’re all familiar with technology and the like, but only because it’s a more specific situation. So this will be what I think they do on a more general account.
Some of them definitely don’t deal with technology and have mundane occupations and hobbies. The major example is Mu, who lives isolated in Jamir, so we already know about him.  Maybe the only times he gets in touch with the normal society is for groceries, but I’m pretty sure anything else that’s “normal” is not in his life.
Shaka is another one that doesn’t deal with a normal life, because I imagine him self-isolating to meditate in peace. Just like Mu, the only society he sees (well, experiences) is when he buys food. That’s a necessity even Shaka need. Anything else is out of the picture.
Most of the other ones, on the other hand, have their fair share of normal life experience. Although, I also think they won’t even think about having a job or something of sort. Normal persona or not, these are still Gold Saints. Can you imagine them having to work? For someone that’s not actually more important than them? Nah.
I can imagine Aldebaran strolling around the streets of his home country, having cheerful conversations with people he knows, maybe drinking something while watching tv in a bar.
Saga would never leave the Sanctuary to have a normal life. And he didn’t, because Ares is a bitch. The one I actually picture going around having a normal life is Kanon, both before and after his redemption, although with very different outcomes. As in, he’d end up getting arrested every three days before turning over to a new leaf.  Kanon would definitely pick up fishing as a hobby, even if just to spite Poseidon.
Deathmask... well, we have Soul of Gold, right? Gambling, drinking, an overall being a menace to society. Although, I don’t think he’d be that much of a pain for other people. Can you imagine him going to get groceries, and just being an asshole to everyone serving him? I can’t. Also, he likes to cook, and is particularly fond of driving around (pretty sure he illegaly bought his driver’s license).
I think Aiolia, much like Saga, doesn’t leave the Sanctuary unless it’s necessary. For the life of me, I cannot picture him having a mundane life. If I go completely off the rail, like what I do in my work, then yeah he likes going to Athens and walk around the city, but as far as hobbies go I have no idea. Technology I feel is a no go for him, but if he were to own a phone or a camera... well, the entire camera roll would be filled with photos of cats.
Dohko is a menace with technology and should never be allowed near it. Not because he’s useless at understanding how stuff works, but because once he does it’s over. For everyone he has the number of.  He’d probably be the only one willing to have a job, though. As a teacher, maybe, given how much patience and sass he showed with Shiryu and Shunrei.  The city life, however, is not for him. After spending so much time in quietness, I feel like for him going to a city is nothing but a hassle. He’d probably have a house in the village near the waterfall and be friendly with everyone.
Milo loves the city life. He lives in a big house, at least as big as his pride, and is always out to find new places to have fun. He own a motorcycle, obviously, and has a phone that he uses way too much. But! he’s not a very open person when it comes to people he knows in his normal life. His mundane friends probably don’t even suspect that he’s a Saint. I also picture him with a passion for music, so his hobby is playing the guitar. Electric, of course. This man is a metalhead and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Aiolos... well, doesn’t Episode G tells us he likes to spend money? I don’t know with him, really. I mostly think that he wouldn’t leave the Sanctuary, and at most would have hints of a normal life dotted here and there in his Saint life. Technology? A little. Watching tv is a good way to pass time. His hobby is also his “job”, basically, because it’s archery.
What can I say about Shura? His normal persona might be completely opposite to how he is a Saint. As much as I love him as a perfectionist with sight homicidal tendencies (all redeemed, thank the gods), I think he’s one of the Saints that know how to properly function in a normal society.  He’d prefer living in a quieter place, like a small town on the mountains, but has a good relationship with technology and the like, and likes to participate in social events if they’re not too crowded.
Camus is straight up as asocial as I am and lives in complete isolation in Siberia. Only owns a cellphone, prefers books to a television, and limits all social contacts to the extreme necessary. Not because he hates people, but because he enjoys the silence. Especially after having to deal with two trouble-making students. He owns both a sled and a (I’m not sure if it’s called like that) snowmobile, but prefers the former because dogs. He loves his huskies.  Rarely, though, he likes to make an exception and come down to the village, visit the local bar. Maybe drink something away from his house and have a chat with his neighbors.
The Saint that’s mostly able to blend in with society, especially in big bustling cities, is Aphrodite. Technology is not a mystery for him, and gardening is definitely his hobby. He never refuses a drink with some company (if the company is good enough for him), and owns a (very expensive) car he uses to move around. Traffic is a travesty, so he also likes to take long walks, and is probably the only Saint with a frequently updated social media. He has way too many followers for his own good, but no one dares to send him unsolicited messages.
I would have loved to have more extensive headcanons for all of them, but as I said, most of the ones I actually have come from a very specific work I’m writing, so they wouldn’t work with a general situation.  Maybe I’ll come back to this, add stuff I forgot or something I make up with time. Who knows.

FULL NAME.  Ganondorf Dragmire MEANING. The etymology of the first name comes from Celtic for fair or light or of light decent and Germanic for village. The last name is probably based on a Slavic name meaning precious peace, alternatively it could be based on some of the numerous names that mean dragon. In my own in universe HC  I’m still deciding somewhat. NICKNAME.  King, Lord, Daemon, Demon, Beast, Darkness, Shadow, Him, The Dark One, Thief, The Great, the list of titles, curses, and praises used as shorthand are endless GENDER.  Male HEIGHT.  9′2″ AGE.  Physically he appears as about 40 years ZODIAC. Nah SPOKEN LANGUAGES.  Archaic Gerudo, Gerudo, Old Hylian, Middle Hylian, Hylian, Sheikah, the basics of Zora and Goron of which he can read and listen but only speak in basic, blin, the truly ancient, original script of the gods.
𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 !
HAIR COLOUR. It flows like fire, starting as a bright and sunny orange-yellow but fading towards blood red near the tips. It had once almost all been a bright, harsh red but the tips faded darker later in his life EYE COLOUR.  Gold and fiery SKIN TONE. An earthy shade of green BODY TYPE.  Mountainous, twice the breadth of a normal man scaled to his size, thrice that of one not. ACCENT. He can speak with perfect fluidity of the royal court, but if he is settling into his preferred diction he tends to allow the slightest touch of his original Gerudo accent, it’s most obvious in the occasional twist on some of the r sounds. VOICE. I’ll give you a quick sample.
DOMINANT HAND.  Ganondorf was originally right handed but has trained to be ambidextrous, one never knows when one hand will be disabled in war. POSTURE. He usually manages to keep good posture but is almost always noticeably tense even from childhood, he always seems to be carrying a weight, and during times of stress or strain and frustration he can gain a significant hunch in his prowling. SCARS. Too many to easily list, most from training as a child. The most obvious are a massive lichtenberg figure sprawling and wrapping around his right arm, up over his chest, and down his right shoulder plate, it was caused by an early attempt at lightning magic when he was far too unprepared for it. Another  would be the massive gashes of teeth in arm, leg, and even one over the left base of the neck from being thrown to wolfos packs again and again until victory or injury beyond fighting capacity. Large burn marks from pillars of flames in going through the Gerudo trials with... special modifiers, such as a blindfold. Picketed by piercings of arrows and spears, but the deepest and worst of these come from the repeated stabbing of the Master Sword leaving dozens, and later in his undying life perhaps hundreds, of marks in his chest and forehead. Not exactly a scar but his nose was not originally nearly as flat as it was later in life, it had been smashed flat in battle with Link. He wears his scars as a point of pride, for it is experience and understanding that makes him so deadly, and one with so many vicious edges is quite menacing. This is not all of them, but most. TATTOOS.  I keep going back and forth on this, I think he’d have some designs based off of legends etched into his back. It would be on his back if anywhere. MOST NOTICEABLE FEATURE(S). There’s a lot there, from the deep scars just barely visible under his armor to the hair carefully styled further to inspire the image of fire, the one massive long nose or otherwise flattened but still large and broad, eyes like molten gold pierced by black spears, of course the most obvious is sheer size and muscularity, he is built not like a body builder but a proper strongman, his flesh packed tight and with overwhelming power.
𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 !
PLACE OF BIRTH. Gerudo Desert HOMETOWN.  The Gerudo Fortress BIRTH WEIGHT.  On the heavier end, but not beyond what was normal BIRTH HEIGHT.  Large, but not unnaturally so, he would not begin quite developing as rapidly until at least the age of two from which it would be exponentially more distant to others as he grows at more than time and a half the speed compared to others of his time. MANNER OF BIRTH.  He was born destined to prove himself a king, as all men of the Gerudo are, it was of great importance and much was done to ensure he survived the most vulnerable early portion of his life. FIRST WORDS.  Sister, king, water, field SIBLINGS. None biologically, many in how the Gerudo referred to him. PARENTS.   He never learned his birth mother’s name, Koume and Kotake were the closest thing from age five on combined with dozens of the most elite to train and instruct. PARENT INVOLVEMENT. His birth mother was well involved and caring before her death, not that he could recall much of it. The twins were strict, harsh, and entirely dedicated to crafting the greatest of warriors. They cared for him in their own twisted way, to make themselves a king they considered beyond all by forging him in a crucible of hellfire. He does not love them, but he respects them and considers it to have been the correct decision, as said before most of his scars come from his youth and indirectly or directly from Koume and Kotake, he wears them with a sense of pride. Ganondorf would not be Ganondorf without it and for that he is ever grateful to their tutelage.
𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 !
OCCUPATION. King of the Gerudo, Demons, Beasts, and all that is Darkness, intermittently King of Hyrule, ever a conqueror, ever at war. CURRENT RESIDENCE.  Imprisoned in the void between worlds, the Sacred Realm, ruling over Hyrule Castle or the Gerudo Desert, it varies greatly depending on period and era. There is one thing he keeps at all times sealed deep beneath the ground as a personal library, a safehouse for all his relics and books to be kept throughout all his lives. CLOSE FRIENDS.  Formerly Nabooru, formerly. RELATIONSHIP STATUS.  Single FINANCIAL STATUS.  Initially what Hyrule would have considered quite low, not impoverished or peasant but very lowly in nobles with only what he needed, given those needs came to include expensive armor, blade, and books but nothing near a proper manor. He would take much in his conquest. DRIVER’S LICENSE. Doesn’t exist. He is a master of cavalry though. CRIMINAL RECORD. In his own kingdom he has no crimes to list, in Hyrule, Goron, and Zora society...Yes would be a shorter answer. VICES.  Wrath, jealousy
𝐬𝐞𝐱 & 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 !
SEXUAL ORIENTATION. Straight, he mostly seeks eventual children in this regard. ROMANTIC ORIENTATION.  Straight if he were to find attraction from a logical standpoint as previously stated. For the most part he merely uses it as a tool, a weapon, something to manipulate the court with as some did find him to have a strange appeal, and emotions are such easy things to maneuver, in that case he doesn’t care what the other is if it can be turned to his benefit. It would still be limited, he’s not willing to go very far with those he does not care for, he has his code. PREFERRED EMOTIONAL ROLE.  submissive       |       dominant   |       switch | PREFERRED SEXUAL ROLE.  submissive       |       dominant       |       switch LIBIDO.  Not much, he feels some biologically but it is buried under far stronger emotions and he has far too much control over himself to let something such as that influence any aspect of himself. TURN ON’S. ATTRACTIONS Oh okay. We’re doing this now. WELP. I’ll list attractions more than anything instead. He likes intelligence, someone able to compete with him, to manage their own in sparring of mind, he also likes that of physicality but the mind is much more important in this regard, he needs to be able to have deep, long, detailed conversations with someone who understands and shares a thirst to learn. He needs a competitor, a challenge, an equal of puzzle and intrigue TURN OFF’S.   Weakness, surrender, an inability to keep up with him in conversation. While he is all about control and hates having things above him, someone equal to him, able to challenge him, he enjoys challenge, he would not be attracted to something within his control for he already has it.
RELATIONSHIP TENDENCIES.
𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 !
CHARACTER’S THEME SONG. Who needs just one? HOBBIES TO PASS TIME.  Music is his only pure hobby, he has other things he has as hobbies but they also are used to hone his mind or enhance his study or sharpen his body. Hunting, camping, reading, sparring, history, these are passions but they are also duties and experiences to use as weapons. MENTAL ILLNESSES.  His entire personality I don’t write mental illnesses, I write a personality. Honestly I somewhat think this idea of intentionally adding mental illness as traits is not a great one, if it’s a major focus fine I can understand that but in my humble opinion you should really write a character and others can try and diagnose whatever but the writer sets out not to write a mental illness but purely the character and whatever illnesses occur are just expanding from that rather than purposely designed. Exception to this would be if that’s part of a message or the mental illness is specifically what’s being explored, but I prefer a character study. Personal preference. PHYSICAL ILLNESSES.  None LEFT OR RIGHT BRAINED. I don’t like this kind of phrasing, left brain I suppose, he’s very methodical, though he does enjoy art and such.
PHOBIAS.  Enslavement - a loss of self-control, irrelevance, loss of that which he yet cares for.
SELF CONFIDENCE LEVEL.  What is impossible will be made possible by his hand no matter what laws attempt to stop him, be them of Hyrule, the world, the gods, his own personal code never but he will do what no others can. He has complete and utter confidence in himself. VULNERABILITIES. Even for all his power, he has arrogance. For all his cruelty, he does have a personal code, a few lines he will not cross. In his youth he was unable to keep himself from his rage, unable to properly respond and keep grip. He has some low level of madness to him later in life and as he grows on becomes more and more splintered. His sharp and honed mind struggles when it is blindsided, he struggles to adapt to things too far outside his expectations and no matter how monstrous one’s intelligence and how unending his experience he cannot predict every single avenue of attack.
TAGGED BY: I AM THE KING OF THIEVES ( stolen from @spiritmaiden )
TAGGING: Ganondorf says stealing is good, unless it’s from me.
