i always forget how many Critters there are in the deep south until i either spend a lengthy amt of time away from here and come back, or i interact with someone relatively new here (esp in the summer). like wow u cant expect to see a lizard and a tree frog stuck to the outside wall when you open the front door to leave the house? wild
#my favorite story about this is my sisters freshman yr roommate from PA who called her freaking out bc there was a roach#[american not german it came in from outside] and we were at a restaurant and she wanted my sister to come back home to get it ???#and my sister was just like. its a roach i get that nobody wants to deal with one and bugs are scary sometimes but like lol#and she literally had never ever seen one before irl........ scream#like american cockroaches love pine forests and our house in LA is basically surrounded by pine trees#its very normal for some to wander inside esp after a hard rain. theyre gross and a nuisance but not a sign of filth and defs not rare lol
