I've seen this post about the so-called 'Catholic guilt' circulating around, and let me just say, as a Catholic person, and someone who has lived her entire life in a country that's 86,28% Catholic, that I've never experienced nor heard of such a thing, and I have no idea what's going on in the US with you all, but ngl, it scares me.

#croatia is so catholic that we were the only people allowed to have mass in our own language and not latin in the middle ages lmao #there's a pop song called 'Bog i Hrvati' aka 'God and Croatians'#there's 'Vjeronaučna Olimpijada' aka 'the Religious Olympics' competition for school kids #me and the gals who competed once made pancakes with the nun who was our religion teacher at the time #my hometown has 45k people & 23 catholic churches #i cannot emphasise how very catholic croatia is #and believe me #we have no problem gorging ourselves on holidays lmao #or getting ridiculously drunk #and believe me no one feels guilty about that #so ... idk what i'm actually trying to say here #idk if that's an american thing ... or if the op had only met a small circle of catholics #but i can confidently say not everyone is like that #christianity #catholicism #ella rants
