Hello 👋🏻
I'd like a monthly check-in please!
My name is Caterina she/her
I choose the Tarot of Dragons
Thank you 🤍
Well met, internet traveler!
Well, I actually needed you to pick an oracle deck, I use the same tarot deck regardless for this reading as of current day, and my rules for this state that if you don't pick one, I pick for you. However, I elected to find a nice middle ground and use one of my dragon oracle decks.
So, your decks for this reading are Under the Oak Tarot (Oscar, they/xe) by Ofride & StregaDelleMele, and The Pride of Dragons Oracle (Aziz, xhe/[nullpronomial]) by Angelo Thomas & Sonja Hedger. (This latter deck is actually more of a... "spirit guide flash card" deck but I read it as an oracle with some added effort to achieve that.)
For this spread, please consider the month staring on May 18th! This is because I don't like reading this for half-weeks!
As well, for the sideways cards in the week section, they face the inside.

My current self. | Upright XIII Death
This card indicates endings, change, transformation... it can be about the death of something, but usually in a change kind of way. It asks us to let go, release, and accept metamorphosis.
Well, as it stands right now, you're going through some changes. Maybe something has ended, maybe something has begun in the void that the ending left. Things are changing, for the better.
What is the theme for this month? | Sideways III of Cups
For this card, I read both upright and reversed.
Upright, this card indicates celebration, friendship, and creativity. Reversed, it is independence, alone time, and gossip.
So, this month, you'll mutually be celebrating with others and taking much needed alone time. Gossip in this case speaks of communication, so this month you'll be clear with other people to some degree or another.
A key goal to pursue? | Upright V of Cups
This card speaks of regrets, failure, and disappointments.
This month, let yourself be sad. Let yourself mourn whatever failures you've had, whatever regrets rest in your heart, whatever sadness exist within you. It's good to let your emotions be felt and heard.
An obstacle to overcome? | Reversed II of Wands
This card speaks of personal goals, inner alignment, and fear of the unknown. It's lack of planning, bad planning, and not taking action.
Your obstacles are ones of personal making. You need to spend time overcoming what holds you back from pursuing your goals, and then actually pursue said goals.
A major accomplishment? | Reversed X of Pentacles
This card is pretty adversarial... it's financial failure or loss, family disputes, debt, and fleeting success.
I'm not getting the vibe of "Read the opposite way", because otherwise I'd just draw this card upright, so you're about to get an odd reading here.
Your accomplishment is failure. It's learning to have peace with that failure. You're going through some rough stuff right now, and you're going to learn to make peace with that rough stuff.
What to avoid overall? | Reversed XI Justice
This card is unfairness, lack of accountability, dishonesty, and, obviously, injustice.
Avoid not being fair to other people, but most of all yourself. Treat yourself with kindness about your efforts, but be fair in it. Scold yourself where necessary, praise yourself where necessary.
What to embrace overall? | Upright VII of Wands
This card is competition, challenge, but also protection and perseverance.
Embrace difficulty. Embrace that you're going to be challenged this month. There's no gain from running from it all, you're stuck with it and you need to work to embrace it. But remember, you are protected, and you are strong, and you can make it through this!
General advice and encouragement? | Upright X of Cups
This card is about divine love, blissful relationships, harmony, and alignment.
While I won't assume if you have spirit guides or not, if you do, know they are there for you.
Outside of that, you just generally have a lot of people supporting you. You're not alone in what you're doing, and you're going to be just fine.
Who will I be at the end of the month? | Upright XXI the World
Completion, integration, harmony, accomplishment, and achievement make up this card.
Whatever struggle you've been enduring will be closer to the end, if not entirely done. But whatever happens, you'll be done with a part of your cycle of life, and that's a good thing. You'll also likely be more at harmony with yourself!
— ☆ —
Week one. | Angelic Wisdom
This card is all about divine knowledge. Intuition, guidance from spiritual allies, the works.
Again, I don't like to assume that you're particularly into spiritual allies. So I'm going to give two possible readings, of which both may apply if you do believe in spiritual allies.
First off, in the zone of "no, I don't", this week will be guided by intuition and gut feelings. Trust what your deeper emotions say. If something feels good or bad, listen to that.
In the zone of "yes, I do", this week will bring guidance from your spiritual allies who are there to support you and encourage you. Their wisdom will be precious this week.
Week one blessing. | Upright VI of Wands
This card is about success, recognition (sometimes from the public), progress, and self-confidence.
And so this week, you'll be having success in something that gets you recognized, even if only by yourself. Progress will be happening, and you might find yourself having confidence this week.
Week one challenge. | Reversed II of Swords
This card speaks of indecision, confusion, stalemates, and the lesser of two evils.
And yet despite your success, you're at a standstill. You're enduring indecision and don't know what to do next. You might be facing a situation that feels all around bad, but you have to pick the lesser evil option of it.
— ☆ —
Week two. | Sword of Deliverance
This card is about fighting for what's right.
So, essentially, you're going to be having to make choices for what's right. You'll be faced with some difficulty in this zone, and you have to pick the right option. The option that is kind to others.
Week two blessing. | Upright XVII the Star
This card is about hope, faith, purpose, and renewal.
Your blessing is that you're going to be pretty hopeful. You believe things will turn out okay, and you're pursuing your purpose and renewal in the process.
Week two challenge. | Upright IV of Cups
This card is about meditation, contemplation, and apathy. It is boredom, indifference, and discontent.
Your challenge is being stuck in the realm of your own mind, as well as apathy. You're in your own head now, which isn't the place you need to be. You focus on your own unhappiness, despite the hope you feel.
— ☆ —
Week three. | The Indigo
This card speaks heavily of intuition and intuitive gift. So kind of like Angelic Wisdom, but much more internal than external.
So, again, this week will be about intuition. Let your intuition guide you and support you, let it help you pick where you need to be going.
Week three blessing. | Reversed XII the Hanged Man
This card speaks of delays, resistance, stalling, and indecision.
In the blessing slot, this card basically means that you're not getting things done, and that's good! Maybe this week you'll be resting yourself instead of worrying about everything.
Week three challenge. | Upright Ace of Wands
This card is inspiration, new opportunities, growth, and potential.
Buuut, you're going to be feeling real guilty about the blessing. You're feeling guilty about resting, about not getting everything done, but you're needing that rest and lack of work at the same time. So your challenge is to overcome that.
— ☆ —
Week four. | Righteously, You
This card basically asks you to recognize how wondrous and special you truly are. The fact you exist is a blessing, and you are completely and utterly unique.
And there's not much to add to that. This week will see a lot of seeing yourself as the precious being you truly are.
Week four blessing. | Upright V of Wands
This card is conflict, disagreements, and competition.
As a blessing, this card is that your conflicts are a good thing. You might be feeling conflicted and away from the theme of this month (that you are wonderful and precious), but even this is a blessing. Keeps you from getting arrogant.
Week four challenge. | Reversed Knight of Wands
And this final card indicates a passion project, haste, and scattered energy.
You might find yourself wanting to work on something, but your energy just isn't working with you, so you end up rushing yourself into working when you're just plain not quite ready.
I note below my usual (which has actually been updated a bit!), but I want to add an extra little note that with my divinatory readings, if you want to wait until the end of the month to come back with a review based on accuracy, that's fine!
Thank you so much for your patience with me performing this reading.
Reviews are helpful, but optional. You can send them in this posts replies, my ask box, or in a reblog of this post. Feel free to reblog this post with your thoughts in general, or without a review.

what do you need to hear right now?
I’ve been wanting to do a pick a card reading for a while now, but I’ve been making excuses because of school and life and blah. But now I’ve spent the time to make a whole blog devoted to tarot, I’m feeling inspired! Hopefully you will too ✨

Take a deep breath, ignore the bad lighting in my house, and use your intuition to choose a pile that speaks to you.

Pile 1- Opalite
Three of wands ten of wands
Two of wands death and Dragon’s throne
You know things in life are temporary, always evolving and becoming more. But it doesn’t always feel like more. You’ve lost something, or you feel like something’s missing. That’s understandable--the way the world is right now, there’s a lot that isn’t quite...right. When things change, it can feel like the world is grinding to a halt. But the sun is coming, I promise. Maybe you can already see it, maybe you can only hope it’s there, but things will get better. Healing takes time. Take the time to reflect on the loss, and when you’re ready, feel the sun’s light. You might not feel like chasing it, but at least open the blinds to allow it to come to you. My heart is with you.

Pile 2- Garnet
Queen of pentacles the sun
Ten of wands reversed two of wands and Dance (reversed) (it fell out reversed, but I like to turn oracle cards right-side up so you can see what the image conveys)
You’ve been working hard! It’s ok to take pride in your work, and you should! You’ve accomplished a lot. Consider sharing what you’ve been up to with others who enjoy similar things so you can all enjoy it. That said, it’s also ok to take a break when you need one. You can’t give 100% 100% of the time, and you really shouldn’t try to. You need rest every once in a while so you can give 100% when it matters most. So, lay your tools down and blow off some steam. Have some fun!
Bonus points if you’re a Capricorn 😉

Pile 3- Rhodonite
Justice the wheel of fortune
Ace of swords 2 of cups and Swan
The literal first thing I thought of when I saw this was the :I face. You’re worried about an outcome, waiting for the shoe to drop. Maybe you don’t know exactly which way you want the situation to turn out, but you feel you’ve done all you can do at this point. Stay patient and have faith that whatever way it turns out is for the better in the long run. What’s meant to be yours will find its way to you in divine timing. In the meantime, focus on other ways of bringing balance to your life-- balance work with fun, sorrow with joy, and hate with love.
Thank you for reading, and I hope this helps in some way 💖

Deck Reviews: The Pride of Dragons Oracle by Angelo Thomas & Sonja Hedger
WHAT IS THIS DECK?
Published by Bear & Company, The Pride of Dragons Oracle is a 44-card deck. It is directly a dragon work deck, instead of a dragon-themed oracle deck. It posits the theory that dragons are angelic servants, as well as a lot else that I'll leave in my extra blurb, because it is pretty important.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE & QUALITY
The art on these cards is gorgeous, and steps away from the usual "style" I see for other decks. You can really see Hedger's unique art style shine through, and I love that.
The quality is good, though I believe the cards are made of plastic? I'm not very good at telling what cards are made of, but the cardstock is strong and holds itself up well.
DECK STRUCTURE
The deck is split into a few Prides: Fallen, Earthly, Heavenly, and the Archangels. Each dragon is associated with an angel and with at least one element.
While there are groups, they ultimately do not affect the deck structure in any way - The Fallen do not have an overarching concept, and can be assumed to just be dragons in service to fallen angels.
GUIDEBOOK
The guidebook is 114 pages, with 6 pages at the front dedicated to the general fluff, and 5 pages at the end dedicated to biography and a "suggested further reading" list, which is just a bunch of other decks that are published by Bear & Company, with varying relation to dragons.
Some meanings are... hard to understand. Let's take "Iridium Moon", whose whole message is that you can call upon the moons phases regardless of if it's actually in that phase in the sky. That's nice and all, but it's really hard to get a proper divination meaning out of it, because it's more just advice, and it's very specific advice.
Which leads us into the next section...
READING STYLES
This deck doesn't seem to really be made to be read like divination. Instead, it seems like the point is to call upon and work with the dragon spirit on the card and learn their lesson, despite being called an Oracle Deck and implying in some ways, though I could be misunderstanding, that this deck can be used for divinatory means. It's great for those looking for more dragon spirits to work with, but not so much for those seeking a proper divinatory experience.
SOME CARDS

EXTRA BLURB
This decks "dragon theory" is essentially that dragons are servants to the angels, that are ungendered, ageless, and lack free will of their own, bound only to the service of humanity (which Thomas says the same about the angels, that they also lack free will), who always refer to themselves in third person and have names that you can see above. Thomas works mostly, primarily, within the Angelic Realms, so angels and all of that stuff. Thomas includes dragons as inherently angelic beings.
While I don't believe dragons are inherently servants of the angels, I believe some can be, as companions and aids to the angels. This does not personally affect my experience with this deck because I believe that some dragons can be.
However, people who have different views that they're strict on, what they are, where they come from, etc, and people who don't want to work within the Angelic Realms may both not have a great time with this deck because of it.
This deck also relies heavily, to a degree, angel work - as each dragon is assigned an angel, some officially within Biblical cosmology, others appear to be unrecorded angels that Thomas has come across naturally in his own journeys. It's a bit hard to detach the angel from the dragon, as the message of the angel is ingrained with the message of the dragon, especially for the Archangels. Someone who doesn't work with angels, such as myself, might struggle with it and the idea of it, though as an eclectic pagan magician, my stance is essentially "As long as this angel can be worked with without me appropriating, I'm game", so I don't really mind the angelic influences within the deck.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS & EXPERIENCES
Well, I do like this deck, but it has its shortcomings. Quite a few shortcomings. It's not really an oracle deck, it's more a guide flashcard deck. However, I've found ways to use it as a divinatory deck, but that required reworking that not everybody is actually willing to do, because when you buy a deck, you're not expecting that kind of extra work to have to go into it.
If you're looking for more dragon guides, great deck. If you're looking for divination, and you're not willing to put in more work, not a great deck.
Update 12/25/24: It's come to my attention that this deck was likely inspired by Dragon Oracle by Diana Cooper, an extremely New Agey deck. While the New Ageyness is much lesser in this deck, you might still want to avoid it for that reason.

Personal reading for myself once again. # Guide: none # Tools: - Tarot's Lil Sidekick | Getta Girl - The Pride of Dragons Oracle | Angelo Thomas & Sonja Hedger

I used Tarot's Lil Sidekick to decipher a question, "How best can I empower myself?" for me today.
Now, Pride of the Dragons is a deck mostly focused on a helper-spirit/message from that helper-spirit thing (as each card is meant to represent a real angelic-dragon you're supposed to call upon and work with when you pull their card), something I wasn't aware of when I added them to my collection, which sometimes leads me to try and make understandings of how the cards work in this context of a reading instead of just purely a deck of relying upon a dragon, and I try to include all in my practice and readings.
So, this card: It mostly asks you to trust in the dragon upon the card to guide you towards angelic wisdom, as the name of this dragon implies. How to read this outside of that perspective...
To empower myself, I need to trust in my guides to, well, guide me through things. To let myself go and rely on them to teach me earnestly and to listen and learn earnestly from them. They have wisdom far beyond anything I could ever have, and they do want to guide me towards better. Sometimes, to empower oneself, you have to let someone else empower you.
