This is me, I’m 19 years of age. A college student studying Multimedia Arts in CIT University. I am not really confident with I’m in front of a camera. I like taking photos of a landscape and other people but I don’t take a photo of myself that much. I am a kind of person who feels comfortable behind the camera. Taking in charge of technical things to make the final product successful. This photo was one of my projects, it’s a montage of myself showing different personas. I was so nervous and it was not an easy process but I was able to overcome my fear of facing the camera. At first, it was so uncomfortable but as I go on and keep taking pictures, it felt natural. I stopped overthinking and instead I enjoyed the process and it was really fun.  I didn’t expect the final outcome to be this good and I’m so happy. You know what they say, you will never know the outcome If you are not going to at least try.

In this video, I wanted to show how I found my place of peace and serenity. And how I was able to cope with my emotional breakdowns, and stress. Just being in the beach, hearing the sounds of waves and watch the sun sets the horizon feels so comforting and relaxing. When I’m having a hard time solving my problems and I can’t handle the stress anymore, I would  choose to go to the beach and clear my mind rather than locking myself in my room. The beach is my only escape from reality and the only place I feel free from judgment and pressure from other people.

This is a picture of a sunset that I took on the day of my 19th birthday. I made it black and white because this kind of photograph hits differently to me than a colored photo. And it doesn’t meant that I want to depict negative emotions. That’s just my way of appreciating a photo, removing its colors and you can still see its beauty. The viewer can focus on what the picture wants to convey without the distraction of colors. As Jack Antonoff said, Black and white creates a strange dreamscape that color never can.
