Chennai Ch D QF: Jakob Schnaitter/Mark Wallner def. N. Sriram Balaji/Andre Begemann [1] 6-3, 6-4 Match Stats

While the volleys set up their earlier break points, their failure was another reason that contributed toward some of J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner's break points. Despite the equal number of break chances (3), the German pair maximized their chances by converting 100% of their break points thanks to their paced point constructions, trying to balance things out between utilizing the open space through the baseline despite several failed volleys along the way. In contrast, despite the first seeds' best attempts to come back from the net, J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner's clutch serving earned them the match on their second attempt to serve for it.
Besides, J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner had more solid service games despite the seemingly thin difference between them. Scoring twice more aces than the first seeds, the German pair had an outstanding first serve winning percentage by 4%, with a 84% percentage than Balaji/A. Begemann's 80%. On the other hand, the latter's second serves appeared vulnerable with only 40% winning percentage than J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner's 50%, with their 4 double faults making it riskier for them outside of their aforementioned failed volleys.
Another home pair awaits for J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner as they will face fourth seeds Rithvik Bolipalli/Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha in the semifinals, who previously defeated Parikshit Somani/Manish Sureshkumar 5-7, 6-1, [10-7] in a competitive quarterfinal derby. This could also be an exciting match with their net games and point construction being tested once again, making both doubles semifinal matches worth looking forward to.

J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner had a firm start to the second set, breaking early (1-0) as a consequence of Balaji/A. Begemann's failed volleys earlier, followed by a quick hold to 2-0. The latter earned their moment thanks to A. Begemann's lob for their game point to hold their service game 2-1, but it was insufficient for them to assert more pressure several games later even if they had more successful volleys to secure a 2-point lead by then. The German college pair held the aforementioned service game to 4-2 afterward.
Subsequently, J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner came up with a key backhand winner to the open court to secure their 2-point lead before they doubled the break due to A. Begemann's double fault. As a result, the former earned their chance to serve for the match, but the first seeds' working volley allowed them to break back (5-3), prolonging the second set by holding their serves to 5-4. By then, J. Schnaitter/M. Wallner had their second chance to serve for the match, where their unreturned serve created their match point, which was converted to 6-4 to secure their semifinal spot.
