the last piece to #namaslayNYC revolves around empowerment and promoting confidence for women - a topic better vocalized by one of the girls themselves on the team. Check out @themonoclemuse's latest post, which details the team's vision with more clarity than I can. This series is short, but the next is like twenty posts in a row if we decide to go ham. My vote is ham. More in a WEEK or IDK something SOON (at New York, New York)

I spoke about this briefly a few weeks ago, the importance of creating a unite state in miniature through art and conversation in light of surrounding discrimination and conflict. #namaslaynyc is very much about setting aside national pride and religious incongruence, and showcasing collaboration and cooperation between Indians and Pakistanis, Hindus and Muslims. It's now as important as ever to stay united and collaborate in conversations, discussions, and other art forms outside of fashion and photography. 🇵🇰🇮🇳🇵🇰🇮🇳🇵🇰🇮🇳 (at New York, New York)

#namaSLAYNYC Introducing the second part of this series (with the third coming very soon), and elaborating a bit more on three messages that are of value to us. The first being celebration. Our team is made up of professionals across different creative disciplines - from designers to artists to photographers - all of south Asian descent. There has always been a constant and negative climate surrounding creatives: a stigma against pursuing unconventional or non-linear career paths. We wish to celebrate those who have challenged this stigma; the ones that chose and fought to follow their passions, that are proud to express their talents, and have decided to define their own walks of life. You're in good company ✌🏾️
