Ahh my most beloved AU!! YES. Hehe so they'll sometimes have dinner at each other's houses, and of course Baird and Nan immediately turn it into a competition on every front - the food itself, the plating, the theme, etc. Gerri knows every time this happens it will not end well, but she can't make up an excuse not to go because that would leave Roman and Rhea as their mediators, and they fuel each other's gremlinism. Disaster waiting to happen.

I think in this AU a version of Tern Haven still happened, so when its the Kellmans' turn to visit the Pierces, the entire time they're there Baird continually seeks out Rosa to compliment her on EVERYTHING about the evening. Zero credit whatsoever to Nan. Rhea and Roman find this hilarious, Gerri thinks its funny but hides it well, and Nan makes up some nonsense painting herself as a martyr for just planning it despite how *terribly* busy she is (she is not busy). Of course when the Pierces visited the Kellmans, Baird did everything himself, which Nan called mid.

Rhea actually comes away impressed by Baird because Nan "just decided" to try cooking as a hobby the in the days that followed, which nobody has been able to get her to do in 60 years. She makes a comment to Roman about how she wouldn't mind seeing how else he can impress her which Roman laughs at, but gets a little nervous and possessive of his man when he realizes that Rhea is a combination of his and Gerri's traits (little goblin and blonde bitch) which Baird obviously finds appealing, at least in them. She has no interest in him, but just enjoys sending Roman into a little Are You Fucking My Dad(dy) spiral every now and then (it's a constant in every universe LOL)

These shots of Rhea with her love interests kill me every time 🥲 With Nan she's open and attentive, the scene is brightly lit, she's dressed to match in light, warm colors, and she even poses herself to mimick her - it's a natural and easy familiarity that we'll see again at Argestes. Then with Logan, now dressed to mirror him in all black, her body language couldn't be more closed off, the scene is dark, she holds her glass between them like a shield; a visual for the emotional and moral barrier between them that they can't overcome, even if they wanted to. 

Of course it's even more striking in the context of the scenes, where Nan actively involves Rhea in the negotiations and asks her opinion, and she's emboldened to go for an even higher offer, while Logan is only interested in what she can do for him, first business-wise when she offers to take out Shiv, and then personally when he propositions her. It's such a heartbreaking contrast to me 💔

Seeing Rhea going from flirty and interested to disappointed and pitying with Logan // from teasing and charmed to shattered and reeling (the script’s words!) with Nan is something that is just so heartbreaking to me. She lost her loves (and her career) twice over 💔
