Nar Phu valley trek was opened recently for trekkers and the trek takes you to the remote Nar Phu valley, which is inhabited by Nepalese Tibetans. Only a few trekkers have visited this interesting trekking region yet.
Nar Phu valley trekking offers medieval Tibetan culture in peaceful form, dramatic mountain views, and great alpine scenery in a Tibetan flavor. On the second part of the Trek, you head to the Thorung La Pass (5416m). Nar Phu is wonderful trekking for all searching for real adventures of Shangri-La and traversing through challenging high passes Kangla Pass (5200m) and Thorung La Pass (5416m).

We have a 19-day itinerary for the Nar Phu valley trek that includes arrival and departure days to and from Nepal. The trek starts from Bhulbhule following the popular Annapurna circuit trek routes and branches off Koto to follow them off the beaten trails to Nar Phu valley in the north of Manang.
You then gradually ascent and have acclimatization. You then traverse Kangla pass and view the Annapurna Massif. You explore the interesting Nar Phu valley which has about 300 inhabitants who depend on farms, and animals, and till today yak herding is the basis of their occupation. After visiting this area, you trek back to Manang, a beautiful and very interesting village of Annapurna trails. You then continue trek to yak kharka and Thorung La Pass and fly back to Pokhara from Jomsom.
Itinerary in Detail:
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport transfer to hotel
You will be met by our airport representative on your arrival and transferred to the hotel. Your evening is free and after you’ve refreshed, you can go for a stroll down the street to get familiar with the surroundings.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu
After having breakfast at the hotel, you go for the sightseeing tour in Kathmandu, and you are escorted by a professional tour guide.
The tour includes a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath), Pashupatinath Temple, and Bauddhanath Stupa.
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Chamje
After having breakfast at the hotel, you leave for BhulBhule. The route goes along Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway to Dumre. From here, you follow a narrow-paved road by the Marsyangdi River and reach Bhulbhule via Beshishahar, and further drive to Chamje.
Day 04: Trek from Chamje to Dharapani
The Trek starts after breakfast at Lodge. The trekking trail descends to a river and crosses a suspension bridge. You then walk to Sattale on a very steep path. The trail then continues on an undulating path above the river to reach Tal.
From here, the valley narrows, and the path becomes winding. Passing by Karte, the trail drops and crosses a suspension bridge to Dharapani.
Day 05: Trek from Dharapani to Koto
The trail gradually ascends and crosses a stream to reach Koto. You get to enjoy stunning views of the Manasalu range, Annapurna II, and dense forests on the way. Koto is a small village mainly inhabited by Gurung and other ethnic groups.
Day 06: Trek from Koto to Meta
In the morning, you register the restricted area permit at the Police Check Post in Koto. Then, you trek through the River bank of Soti Khola through wonderful pine forests, and streams and reach Dharmasala.
Then the trek goes continues through forests and ascends steeply towards Meta village. Finally, you arrive at the Tibetan Plateau where you have a good view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
Day 07: Trek from Meta to Phu Gaon
You start the day traversing up and down and crossing suspension bridges over different streams. After almost 4 hours of trek, you reach Kyang where you can see the remnants, particularly the ruined forts of the Khampa settlement (the place where Khampa refugees from Tibet were once captured and lived).
You further keep walking past the Phu Khola on a rocky trail and finally reach the Phu village in another 3 to 4 hours.
Day 08: Visit the Phu Gaon
Today is the scheduled acclimatization day. You are suggested to rest and get acclimatized to the altitude. You explore the culture, natural diversity, and religious practices of the ethnic groups like Lama, Gurung, and Ghale.
You can trace how people make their survival depending on agriculture, animal breeding, and seasonal migrations in such remote locations or the hidden valley. It is also the day for you to explore the Tashi Lakhang Monastery.
Day 09: Trek from Phu Gaon to Nar
The trail descends passing many streams and suspension bridges until Mahendra Pul which takes about 4 hours.
You pass the high suspension bridge 80m over the Gorge of Lapche River. You have lunch in Mahendra Pul.
The trail then steeply ascends passing many Buddhist stupas until Nar Village which takes about 2 hours. You find several Buddhist Monasteries here to visit coupled with the glorious vistas of Pisang Peak and other small peaks.
Day 10: Explore the Nar village
This is the second scheduled acclimatization day for this trek. You spend the day taking a day hike nearby and exploring Nar village. You have a close look over the local culture and lifestyle.
Day 11: Trek from Nar to Kang La Pass to Nawal
You continue ascending towards Kang La Pass after having breakfast. Crossing Kang La Pass is tough, it can get long if there is snow on the pass.
From the top of the pass, you get to see breathtaking views of Annapurna II, Mt. Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and many other surrounding peaks.
Day 12: Trek from Ngwal to Manang
You head for Manang today from Nawal. You pass through the isolated village of Paugh overlooking the amazing views of the Annapurna range.
You then move gently uphill to Mungli and the main trail of Annapurna Trail at Mungle. You eventually reach Manang.
Day 13: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka
Today the trail ascends gently to Yak Kharka passing through the Gunsang (3960m.) village. You see panoramic views all day on the route.
Day 14: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
You start the trek with climb gradually to a ridge before descending to the headwaters of the Marsyangdi and crossing via a covered wooden bridge. After a short ascent up the mountain path on the right bank, you follow a narrow trail across an unstable spree slope and then descend to Thorung Phedi.
Day 15: Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass
Today, you start the trek early in the morning to cross the Thorung La (5416m.). The trail becomes steep immediately on leaving camp but as this trail has been used by local people for hundreds of years the path is well defined.
After around 4 hours of steady climbing, you reach the chorten and prayer flags of the pass. The views are dramatic, to say the least, from the snow-covered mountains above to the head of the Kali Gandaki valley below and the brown and purple hills of Mustang which are spread out before you.
The descent to Muktinath is a knee-pounding 1600m but it's compensated for with excellent views of Dhaulagiri. Eventually, the moraines give way to grassy slopes before a pleasant walk along the Jhong Khola Valley to Muktinath and its shrines and temple.
Day 16: Trek from Muktinath Jomsom via Kagbeni
You go to visit Muktinath temple in the early morning and return to the hotel to have breakfast. You then head towards Jomsom. You go through Kagbeni village and spend some time there visiting the old villages of Kagbeni. After having lunch in Kagbeni, you trek another few hours to Jomsom.
Day 17: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara
You take an early flight to Pokhara, and check in to the hotel, and rest of the day is free to explore.
Day 18: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
The tourist bus leaves at 7 AM after b/fast to drive to Kathmandu and the drive will be a fantastic experience as you drive past many satellite towns on the way.
Day 19: Transfer to the airport for your departure
You will be transferred to the international airport for your final departure to your loving home.

Trekking in Nepal is what most mountaineers dream about! A land lock country, Nepal has eight of the top ten highest mountains in the roof of the world and some of the most beautiful landscapes which are only accessible on foot mean by walks. sounds like something you’ll see in movies only. #trekking #nepaltrekking @trekking ##trekkinginnepal #nepaltrekkingpackage #treknepal #nepaltrek #aroundnepaltrekking #trekkinginhimalayas #himalayastrekkinginnepal #nepalshorttrek #nepaleasytrek #nepal #everest #annapurna #langtang #manaslutrek #mustangtrek #everestbasecamptrek #ghorepanipoonhilltrek #gokyocholapass #everest3passtrek #tsunvalley #narphuvalley #everestviewtrek #annapurnabasecamptrek #skylinetreks #skylinetreksandexpedition https://www.skylinetreks.com/destination/nepal/trekking-package.html https://www.instagram.com/p/CATqrwcDIHv/?igshid=ji2ymuh76y6y
