Career Compass....guiding you on your career journey!
Our journey towards finding a career that is in alignment with who we are, and what gives us fulfilment falls under 4 broad areas:
1. KNOW YOURSELF - Career Discovery.
2. EXPLORE OPTIONS - Resume and Interview Coaching.
3. GET FOCUSED - Personal Development Coaching.
4. TAKE ACTION - Conflict and EI Coaching.
We will go deeper within these 4 areas to research industry trends and companies once you have decided on a career path. Do a gap analysis to outline where you are, where you want to be, the goals and actions you must take to get you to your destination.
Skills such as conflict management and emotional intelligence to help you navigate the world of work will be covered. You will learn how to lead, communicate, manage relationships with colleagues and show up with the right attitude for work.

The reunion of friends...one love!
Last weekend was back to back activities, spent with family, neighbours and the Islamic community. The highlight was a reunion of friends, who would have met around 1985/86.
A few are missing from this photo because they are no longer in this physical world, but will always be in our hearts. The heartbeat of friendship is represented by the colour yellow, and to respect my friends who are not on social media.
In my career stories, I would write about someone in my network who opened the door to my first job. That person is in this photo, and missing is another who would have led me to the door of another job later in my career.
We all went our separate paths building careers, communities and families. However, we stayed connected because we came together for the love of something/cause greater than ourselves.
"In every generation, the world is changed by a few people, who stand for something, do not fear unpopularity and dare to make a difference". Nicky Gumbel

DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND LOVE DOING IT!
Life happens, we must be courageous and resilient to embrace the changes!
When I was laid off in January 2018, it came 3 years after my husband was laid off and we had also bought our own home.
2 years after Covid hit and in 2021 I had a serious health challenge to deal with.
Did I give up on life? NO
I held strong to my faith, with support from family and friends, I have reinvented my life and my career.
I became an entrepreneur....doing what I love and love doing it.
Today, I am in control of my life, I can set appointments or decide to make it a beach day, like I did on Tuesday this week.
I intentionally created a career that allows me to have work life balance!
Connect with me www.coachnashtnt.com and I will be your career compass.

Get to know the Types of Job Interviews
When you are actively job searching, be prepared for the interview.
Informational - An informational interview is an informal conversation, usually lasting 20-30 minutes, with a person working in a career field that interests you.
Screening - A phone/video screening is not necessarily a job interview. It's a pre-interview step recruiters take to ensure you check some boxes to decide to invite you to the next round of interviews in the hiring process.
Selection - A free-flowing open-ended process of Behavioural/Scenario based or Situational questions to determine if you are suitable for the role.
Task - these are instructional tests you complete as part of a job interview and selection process.

The Power of Teamwork:
In a dense forest, there lived a group of animals who faced a common threat—the arrival of hunters. Individually, they stood little chance of survival.
Realizing this, they decided to unite and work together.
The rabbit was swift and quick to alert others of danger. The deer possessed keen senses and was adept at detecting threats. The owl provided wisdom and foresight. The bear brought strength and protection, while the monkey’s agility helped them navigate the treetops.
With each animal contributing their unique abilities, they formed an unbeatable team. Together, they devised strategies, outsmarted the hunters, and ensured their collective safety.
This story demonstrates the power of teamwork and collaboration. It teaches us that when employees join forces, share their strengths, and support one another, they can overcome obstacles, achieve success, and create a harmonious work environment.
Remember, success is not an individual accomplishment but a result of the collective effort.

Today, I am reflecting on the many students who are entering schools for the first time.
Also those starting the new school term as a secondary student.
The fears going through their minds of the pressures school life.
Mental health is real for them as well! Here are 5 tips to help them cope with it all.
Not on this list that I will add is having the love, support and creating safe spaces to help them thrive.
“Teachers can open the door, but you must enter it yourself.” —Chinese proverb
We adults must enable them to enter that door!
