Taylor’s entire personal philosophy for years was “it’s a wonderful day to dump him” which isn’t a bad philosophy to have in general but like once you find someone it works with it’s not reaaaaally relevant.

Taylor knows that now - see songs like New Year’s Day which are all “but I stay when it’s hard and it’s wrong and we’re making mistakes” or False God or Afterglow - but it’s something she’s learned to do like more recently than 2014-2015 when she was super tight with Karlie.

Clayd explicitly said like Karlie was pissed that Taylor wasn’t there for her in 2016 when she had a serious problem with Josh so like I just don’t see why we’d think she was dispensing valuable advice back then to people with adult problems except the need to have Taylor be the best at absolutely everything idk.

What would she say lmao like Taylor had literally zero experience in like something like that? By the time they became friends like Josh and Karlie had been together for like a year and a half and Karlie was looking at converting to Judaism. Taylor’s advice - which would most likely boil down to “well break up with him” - wouldn’t be very relevant or appropriate.

I think Karlie has her older friends - Nat V for instance who’d also dealt with being like the trashy Eastern European model marrying the British aristocrat and being judged and stuff for that - who would’ve been a lot more useful for her. Like Nat could’ve been like “here’s how I won the Portmans over” and Karlie could’ve been like “oh cool”. What would Taylor offer to that convo?

So based on the people who’ve like spilt tea on this - Perez and Spencer, Clayd, the Page Six article presumably from or approved by Karlie’s people, and the behavior of their various friends (Tay’s ones like Ash and Claire and Karlie’s Ash and shit too) here’s what I rate happened: they drifted apart as people do but were still on okay terms. Karlie came to Rep and invited Taylor to her wedding and Tay couldn’t go because she was in Australia and I don’t think especially wanted to but like did congratulate Karlie (she even went and liked her wedding pic ergo searched her up the day after).

Then Karlie did something that facilitated the masters sale. Spencer thought it’s on accident but who knows tbh.

And that’s when Taylor went scorched earth.

Guys let's put the hate to the side for a sec, karlie had a golden retriever bf who worships the ground she walks on , stuck with her even though he could've just left, would absolutely anything for her and who is lovey and dovey publicly with her and is basically her prince charming. So imagine if you were this insecure 20 something pop star who's insecure in so many way, was depressed and just wanted to be loved to the point where she was willingly to do anything and go through anything for it and didn't understand why nothing was working. and you were seeing this happen couple who even though were going through hell they still chose each other every single moment of every single day and were willing to put up with all of that crap just to stay together..how would you feel? Because she’s a legend but she’s also a normal girl idk. Obviously she has insecurities (a ton of them tbh). I don’t know why you’re so bothered by the idea that Taylor, a girl who is on record as very insecure about her body, and about her relationship track record, and who really wanted to be part of the fashion cool kids at that point, would be envious of a girl who is incredibly thin and toned, has a very stable personal life, and is a fashion cool kid.

In turn, Karlie was obviously jealous of Tay’s social skills, her popularity, and the amount of attention she generates.

It really wasn’t codependent dude she wasn’t any more dependent on karlie than she was on her other friends. She wasn’t that attached to her and hence she publicised the fuck outta that friendship ( Taylor doesn’t publicise relationships that actually mean something to her THAT HARD see: Joe/selena) she could’ve done a song w selena but she doesn’t even tho they record together and play each other their albums.
