No amount of photos can ever show just how beautiful it is here at Assateague Island, but here's some good ones! I loved camping on the beach, being barefoot basically the whole time, and also making late night /early morning visits to the beach for the best finds. Today we hiked the Lost Palms Oasis trail at Joshua Tree National Park. Even as experienced hikers, we had a tough time on our first desert hike. I cropped out the distance in my Garmin photo so you can see it was 106 degrees out during the hike. We ended up running out of water 4 miles into our hike.. And also found ourselves lost a few times after wandering off the trails. Drove to NJ to hike the Delaware Water Gap on this beautiful day. We hiked up Mount Tammany, then down and through Dunnfield Creek Trail to Sunfish Pond. Then we took the Appalachian Trail back down to civilization.
