Blaine’s favorite book as a child, one that they still remember fondly, is Roch Carrier’s “Le Chandail de Hockey.”  Not because they grew up playing hockey, or cheering for the Montreal Canadiens, although like most Canadian kids, they did play a little growing up; and watched Cooper playing more. The reason Blaine likes the book so much is that it is a story about being different, unique, and even from a young age, it was evident  they were different.  It also points out that it’s not what is on the outside, but inside that matters.  Blaine made their parents sick with reading the book to them, but Cooper almost always was happy to read it to them.   Le Chandail de Hockey is about a boy that wants nothing more that the same Maurice Richard hockey jersey that all his friends have.  Living in a small rural town, the boy orders the hockey jersey from the Sears Catalogue as was the way of the time, and when it arrives, he is heartbroken to discover that instead of  a Maurice Richard Montreal Canadiens jersey, he’s received one from the Toronto Maple Leafs.  The rivalry between Montreal and Toronto is not new, nor is is limited to hockey and the little boy vows that he just won’t play hockey with it. However, his mother makes him see that it’s not about what you wear, or how you look on the outside, but rather how you do things, and the way you are on the inside the matters.

Just B aesthetic 007 of ???  -B’s bedroom

headcanon info: Blaine’s new bed, because the frame is kind of high, and the mattress is a fluffy pillow top with a box spring, is very high off the ground.  The overstuffed chair, covered with lots of soft and fluffy pillows was purchased late last week, a splurge for being top of the ranks.  It’s wide enough and deep enough that they can curl up in it completely.  The blackout curtains are a velvet like material and very luxurious.  The main bed linens are crisp white with blacks, greys, and reds for accents like throw pillows, extra blankets, etc.  There are some art pieces in the room, mostly framed posters; that are all music themed.  And B has twinkle lights zigzagged across the ceiling.  There is also a blue tooth speaker for listening to music and a couple of scented items like a wax burner, usually burning vanilla or coconut, to keep things smelling enjoyable.

Blaine likes fizzy things; bath bombs, carbonated drinks, and champagne when the time calls for it.  After reaching the top of the NDHQ rankings Blaine couldn’t stop themselves from going out and purchasing a bottle of ‘bubbly’ to use to celebrate.  Not for themselves, no.  Instead the bottle is sitting, chilling, in their refrigerator for their friend and collaborator Sebastian Smythe, for when he takes back over the top spot of the rankings. Expecting that Sebastian would edge them out the very next week, Blaine let Sebastian know this bottle is waiting for him. The only question now is how long will Blaine have to wait before sending the bottle upstairs to their friends’ penthouse?   Especially given some of Sebastian’s more recent confessions.  However, after two weeks on top, Blaine slips to the third spot, Sebastian moving back into first.  Instead of sending the bottle upstairs, Blaine packs it with a picnic lunch before the two of them head out on their now scheduled weekly Thursday filming.  They take Sebastian’s SUV out onto the California highways for road head and car sex before Sebastian leaves for Paris.

Since moving to California, there are many things Blaine wants to do.  

They really want to go up and spend more than a weekend in San Francisco, exploring the wharf, seeing the golden gate bridge, perhaps even going across to alcatraz.  There was something about the city that seemed very welcoming and soothing to Blaine and they couldn’t wait to get away and do that.  Closer to home, to San Fernando, Blaine wanted to explore LA a little more.  Of course going to Disney was on the top of the list.  Getting a good view of the Hollywood sign too, and perhaps doing some hiking in the canons.  Hiking isn’t their favorite things, but they’d heard that the views were amazing and that makes them want to try it.  Being a decent snowboarder back home, Blaine is also excited to try surfing here in California; realizing that yes, they are different, but hoping they are similar enough and something they can enjoy out here.  Blaine also wants to go visit the stars on the sidewalk in LA, attend a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, and visit the Santa Monica Pier.  Blaine would also love to go to the San Diego Zoo.  Secretly, they’d love to have a Pretty Woman moment shopping on Rodeo Drive or somewhere equivalent.
