Neeraj Gupta is an award winning sculpture artist of International repute. He is the first Indian artist to win Florence Biennale Award. Gupta is the founder and president of Delhi Art Society. Neeraj Gupta is also the president of Buddha Jayanti Park, Delhi (also known as Buddha Garden Delhi). In August 2023, Gupta planted 1000 Cassia fistula (Amaltas) trees in the garden. He is the winner of Sahitya Kala Parishad award and member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, United Kingdom. His art “From Here to Eternity” was selected for 8th Beijing International Art Biennale China 2019. Neeraj Gupta is one of the winners (3rd place) of InternationalArt & Design Competition 2020.

It takes up over a km on the eastern side of Vandemataram Marg, commonly known as Upper Ridge Road. M. M. Rana, an Indian architect, designed iton the 2500th anniversary of Gautama Buddha's enlightenment. On October 25, 1964, then-Indian Prime Minister Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri planted a sapling of the Sri Lankan Bodhi Tree here.
