to be honest i don't have like A Definite Method of rendering (...or drawing in general—which would explain why everything looks so different from post to post if you take a gander at my art tag😭😭😭)

i had the reference riiiight beside him the whole time & kept constantly eyeballing it (i did colorpick straight off of his face until i changed the palette via color balance) and even i'm surprised with how well it turned out

at one point i was like "why does this look off" and then i added those highlights in the area between upper lip and nose and it's like everything CLICKED so i think that's also pretty important! it's a bit more noticeable on my replica than it is on the reference itself though

tldr; i was winging it 90% of the time 🤑but lighting gets the job done when it comes to Establishing the Planes Of The Face (is that what the art professionals say??)

HIIIII!!!!! LOVE THAT FREAKING BAND!!!!!! Ok Ok my favorite album as a whole is The Scene Between. Very very VERY big fan of that feel-good rock vibe unique to that album specifically. but my favorite SONG from TG!T (and favorite overall song of all time) funnily enough is actually from Rolling Blackouts ... said track being Secretary Song... i named my account after it..!!!

zuke hairline headcanon: he shaved that triangular notch into it as a teenager as an impromptu act of rebellion. and then regretted it immediately after. and then he tried to console himself saying "it'll grow back eventually..." fast forward a whopping 10+ years later and it NEVER DID!!!!!!! plus zuke was forced to grow those mutton chops to accommodate it
