there is something to be said about the connection that all (US) southern / bible belt queers have with each other that no one else could understand

#ngl and say that queers that did not grow up in the south or in bible belt states adopting the 'cowboy' aesthetic doesnt bother me #bc it does #am i going to stop people from participating in it? no #but a majority of those baby queers adopting the aesthetic will be the first ones to condemn the south #and all the queers in it simply bc we exist #there is something to be said about the community that we have as southerners AND as queers #especially rural queers like myself #the relationship of southern gay mascs and cowboy culture? chefs kiss.#butcher posting
