I have been wanting a macro lens for a while now and I bought a @sigmaphoto Macro 105mm from @desidrewphotography which was used in this photo. Good guy, it was everything he said it was! Macro lenses give the ability to get really close to the subject (macro). You can mimic this by cropping with other long lenses but then you lose pixels, which for social media and the internet is fine. BUT cropping, for print, restricts you to a size that has enough DPI for a quality print photo. Take this photo, for example, this is full frame, uncropped, through the @sigmaphoto Macro 105mm. What this means is that if I wanted to, I could print this at 36x48 inches which would have 153dpi. Which is a pretty huge print with more than twice the quality of a photo from the latest iPhone printed at full scale. I'm guessing half that size as I have not checked. The point is, I am going to have fun with this lens as it opens the door to even more creativity and options for me.
