hey folksss!! im ser n im super hyped to get to know everyone + also bring ryu han to the dash. i have a skeleton of a profile here / an intro underneath w some quickfire plot ideas but otherwise feel free to like this and i'll hit u up to plot, or alternatively feel free to dm me first :^)

ryu han, 27, 2nd year masters' student in criminal law currently living in yellow hall with the power of necromancy, commitee member of together for daehan

only son of the ryu family, a pretty big name in the corporation world (idk what they do exactly but they'own a conglomerate so we can start there)

his family is also notorious for being in a lot of shady dealings though, of course, a paper trail is rarely left so there's never quite enough evidence to accuse them of anything

shoved into the law division of the company where his abilities manifested at 11 during a hit-and-run case (details withheld but it wasn't pretty)

linked his app above regarding his powers but tldr (tldr in a tldr ik its outrageous sorry) he can raise the undead momentarily and manipulate them

as the only one with an ability in his family his parents were super stoked until he left home when he was around 18 because he disagreed with his family's criminal actions and their moral alignments

kindaaa big news in the business world that followed with a lot of "wow he isn't like his parents maybe there's some hope left for them"

in reality, his leaving-the-family was basically orchestrated to get the public slash ryu family enemies on his side. he's still loyal to them in every way, receives money from them, is in contact with them etc but maintains a facade that he lives away on money he earned solely by himself

post-undergrad, started to intern (and still does) at a not-so-big-deal law firm (that pay for his residence, living cost etc but this is basically a paper law firm that's controlled by his family in the end. people just don't know)

takes part in a lot of cases that aren't really national news but are subtler parts of his family's plans ie the factory worker who saw something they shouldn't have getting into a truck accident, the disappearance of a secretary who questioned too much -- he "uses" his power to mitigate the fallouts of those deaths ie by telling the families he communicated with the undead, passing on last words etc but it's just all soppy stuff to get them off their trail

or he summons the undead so they can do the dirty work for him .. the feeling of blood on his hands is sort of physically and emotionally difficult to wash off

literally at university so he can make a bigger name for himself (hence his participation in student politics) and get deeper into the legal system for his parents @_@ can't really imagine a life without them nor is he willing to acknowledge how deeply evil his whole family is but he'll cross that bridge when gets to it

spoiler alert: he is never getting to that bridge

personality wise he kinda thrives off making people feel subtly uncomfortable. doesn't break eye contact when talking, makes off-handed comments that you only realise the biting undertones of five minutes after you leave the conversation, smiles a little too much and especially at the wrong times. not really likeable, not really dislikable, either

all this to say he seems like a walking paradox. you might know he renounced his family's evil ways and chose the life of a just, morally righteous lawyer -- but why does it seem like there's something inconsistently unsettling about him?

regarding how much guilt he feels about participating in his family's dirty dealings -- growing up going to church every sunday means there's a lot to grapple with in terms of religious guilt and whether he's doomed for hell but once again he will cross that bridge when he gets to it and he is never getting to it. it's much easier to pretend he doesn't feel bad and that evil is rooted in nature, not nurture.

quickfire plots include: someone who knew him before he "left" his family; someone who's understandably suspicious of him but can't seem to figure out why; alternatively someone who completely believes in his facade and thinks he's the absolute apostle of justice; ex-friends that fell apart; an ex-friend whose relationship deterotation between them hurt a pinch too much; fwbs; someone he has a soft spot for because they remind him of his younger sister (who's currently 15); someone who he leans on when he overexerts himself and ends up sick; someone who wants to use him to get to his family; someone who keeps seeing him with nosebleeds in the library and isn't sure how much more spare tissue they have left

hey, this is autumn (she/her, 21+) again, aka the mun for @moonvitas as well! this time i bring you a revamped old muse that has decided bother me until i brought her in, sighs. this is ariya suwannarat, the princess daughter of a super rich couple. her dad is the ceo of one of the biggest conglomerates in thailand and her mom is a famous actress which means that considering how she was born an anomaly, she ended up sheltered a lot, lived off nullivi in public events until she learned how to control her powers properly after a lot of headaches and nosebleeds. then she's sent to sua esp because of her (one-sided) bad relationship with her brother but she isn't too mad about it and is just trying to enjoy that for once she doesn't have her family breathing down her neck. as usual, here is her profile and under the cut more about her + plot ideas!

i. past

so-- as said before dad is big rich business man and mom is a famous actress, dad is also an anomaly but since he has some psionic power that can be kept very lowkey (or maybe he has great control over it, who knows), he managed to fly under the radar while mom is just a normal human being, no super powers unfortunately. they're a fairly (and surprisingly) happy couple, a little like a love from fairytales.

(when, of course, you don't consider that dad's very lowkey psionic power has somewhat to do with emotion manipulation so take that as you will.)

either way! her older brother is raised as the heir of the family while ariya was the spoiled kid who only had to look pretty in front of the media but she always basically had everything that she wanted.

the catch is that 1 (one) she's an anomaly and her parents strongly believe it doesn't look good for their multi millionaire business, 2 (two) her brother is also an anomaly that basically can find out everything about a person (their memories, any knowledge that they have, their thoughts and wants as long as the person is aware of them, etc etc) with a touch and 3 (three) he's super paranoid about the inheritance of the business and thinks that, even though he's 12 years older than her, that she's ready to backstab him at any moment and get that ceo spot for herself.

which isn't true; she just wants to live as carefree as her heiress life will let her.

so, yeah-- she was very hidden sheltered, using nullivi in any and all public events with her family and even those she was rarely seen just in case. at home she was forced incentivized to practice her powers to better hide control them so she could join the rest of her family as unregistered anomalies.

her brother, though, used this as an excuse to check up on her all the time with his powers. it was still fun because it got her to train her psychic energy absorption so in the end it was a win-win.

her brother who also out-ed her as an anomaly after she graduated high school and it was a whole scandal for a while since he was scared that she'd take any degree relating to business or whatever. she put her best i don't know anything face and eventually was let off with a slap on her wrist.

that's why she's sent to sua with a very far away from business degree to ease the tensions at home (and at her dad's business) and honestly she's living the best life, not really focusing too much on her academic achievements unless one particular class she genuinely enjoys because she's fully relying on her family's money to support her when she eventually lives off of her art.

ii. personality

at first glance a bimbo, at a second glance a cunning little bitch 💅

now more seriously. she gives off a very airhead vibe, taking everything at face value and someone who doesn't think too far ahead besides what she wants in the moment and is very inconsequential

the personification of the "only here to have fun✌️" but that makes her very friendly and easy to be around, even if a little hedonistic help ksdjhf has very questionable (selfish) morals, she's also very playful/teasing so a little of gojo satoru vibes from jjk (i'm so sorry @/jjk fans SDFKJHK).

i'd say girl next door energy but then she also gives off rich girl vibes, doesn't know the value of money (i.e. give expensive gifts to people like she's offering a sip of her water bottle. your laptop of sixteen years just broke? here, a brand new macbook pro: one in each color because she wasn't sure which one you liked the best). she just had lots and lots of it her whole life and has yet to go through the shock or reality that will make her more aware of her financial privileges.

is much smarter than she looks and is paying much more attention to the people and what is happening around her than she lets on esp as a consequence of trying to make her brother chill and now she doesn't know if that's a bad habit or part of her personality, nor she cares really.

that's why she can also be a little sly/cunning sometimes towards people because she sort of learned that's the way to get things that she wants, but she also genuinely cares for people and wants everyone to have a good time like her.

even if sometimes she can feel like she's a little detached because of her free spirit nature, like it's hard for her to mourn over friendships and relationships (for long anyway) since she truly believes that everyone is going to pass at some point so she's there to enjoy them while they can.

is fluent in korean at this point but sometimes still pretends to play dumb just to get out of some conversations or even arguments.

the kind of person that has a lot of friends but not a lot of friends friends.

very chill but loves loves loves the rallies because she thinks it's fun to find new ways to use her powers/to be able to use them freely and she isn't truly competitive about it even though she does take some fun in riling up the other houses and pretending that she is.

iii. plots

rich friends ! considering how much rich people like to network, i'm sure that she has been to seoul a couple of times for vacation or for some important gala. or the opposite! whenever your muse (and their family) were on bangkok, they always ended up hanging out with each other

red hall people ! she loves the idea of all girls being tight-knit with each other and she does think it's fun to play sorority!! so she's there!!! for her sisters!!! either to help them doing things that they want to try but are too scared to do so or if they need to cry over their asshole ex with or some comfort because you were the shitty ex or anything!! at all!!

haetae members ! she's a great vice-cap during rallies but not so much out of them JDHSFKJH either way!! she's always willing to hear any strategies/thoughts fellow haetae members might have about the next rallies or if they want to do any sort of bonding exercises (like movie nights, etc etc)

gangcheori members ! she was from that house just last year but then changed to haetae when haetae offered her the vice cap position and she thought it'd be fun so here she is. maybe someone who thinks it's good riddance that she changed houses KJHSDK or someone who feels betrayed because she not only left but joined another house or maybe someone who wants her back on gangcheori and has been trying to convince her to come back

fellow party lovers ! wouldn't be surprised if she ends up more in blue hall than her own dorm KJHSKJF but either way! maybe someone that she only vibes with during parties but outside of it there's no reason for the two of them to spend time together which could either be ok between the two of them or one could be trying to change that and start hanging out outside of parties too.

Wolfram can emit an extremely powerful high—or low pitch of vibration that can be focused into energy if he screams or raises his voice. Wolfram can shatter objects, break surfaces and propel people backwards or off balance. The scream can shatter eardrums if used violently but is not otherwise deadly even when used with force, though prolonged use may result in headaches and nausea for everyone involved!!

On Nullivi: He can speak, has an accent, and feels very odd about it because he can be loud and incredibly awkward, prone to rambling.

Limitations:

Wolfram can change the pitch of the scream but not the damage done: this means that he cannot speak, sing, laugh for example, without repercussions.

Wolfram can only cover a few yards at most. Due to the physiology of his anatomy, his voice will always produce a pitch of above a soft tone (laughing loudly, singing, speaking, etc but not coughing or whistling.)

Wolfram must have good aim or risk shattering someone else’s eardrums, or his own if the sound bounces off something unsuspecting.

Must have good balance so he doesn’t fling himself over.

Personality:

Wolfram is an extrovert: despite being shy because of his quiet voice and anomaly, he thrives on being around others and socializing, partying and playing around and exploring new places. He is adventurous and athletic but cannot play sports in large groups due to the nature of his anomaly. He uses sign language or a notes app on his phone if he doesn’t want to risk speaking but can also whisper or speak in a low tone to avoid hurting others’ ears. He has a thick accent and so does his Voice AI. Wolfram was homeschooled for a good portion of his life so he can be a little awkward. He tends to run on the laid back side and is sensitive but will probably physically defend himself before using his Scream as a last resort.

seoul born and perhaps not so happily bred, he hails from a disgustingly rich family although the prejudice runs rife within this one.

suspicions were had when the oldest cha married a woman of lower class but imagine the chaos when they find that their child was born an anomaly.

hotheaded and prone to tempers that sent shadows and apparitions flitting around empty rooms, wontaek was more or less a living nightmare. if he didn't get his way, he would send a blight of darkness to obscure his nanny's vision or frighten his mother with moving shadows. there were times where he would get stuck in a wall and frighten his father into a near heart attack.

his aunts and uncles kept his cousins at bay, worried that somehow his predilection would rub off onto them. they all saw him as liability but to everyone's surprise, grandpa cha, founder of a mega conglomerate saw him as a gift.

where the rest of the family had their reservations about him he was undoubtedly spoiled by his grandfather. when wontaek acted up as a teen, he defended him and said he had a warrior spirit and needed an outlet. when his mother decided parenting a demon was no longer feasible, grandfather cha called her weak and invited wontaek to live with him. there he was given the finest tutors, his interests in the arts cultivated and he lived mostly free from any prejudice for being an anomaly.

art became a happy medium for his troubled disposition, and his grandfather's embrace kept him in line. he won art competitions for his sprawling paintings and profound sketches.

life's good for a while but then grandfather is struck by a degenerative illness. the vultures come out to play and wontaek sees his family scramble for that fat inheritance.

university becomes a place he can build more of a name for himself and keep him on the straight and narrow. grandfather always stressed the importance of an education so his days at sua mean something.

campus life

absolutely hates wearing the patch but will admit it helps temper the darkness on those harder days when his moods take over (c.f his personality below)

studied fine arts as a bachelors and went on to study a masters after a break of travelling and twenty-something debauchery. currently in the 2nd year of his masters and working his way through his disso in the form as an art exhibition.

has really adopted the frat boy personality but make it art boy coded?

outside of practicing and being a bro, you'll find him in the postgrad art studio or in his dorm (blue hall represent!) sketching or painting. his fingers are perpetually stained with dried paint or charcoal. his works feature reimaginings of famous european renaissance paintings and he favours working on large canvases.

his upbringing and estranged relo with his parents makes him cerebral and prone to moodiness, and rather than causing trouble nowadays he airs out his shit on the canvas.

i should also mention that the more he uses his ability the more he gets stuck in a dark place, mentally and emotionally.

when he's in that place he's selfish (more than usual), callous, and critical. his paintings take on a sinister tone and his shadow animations behave erratically too.

wonjae was born and raised in seoul!

he was mostly raised by his mother—his father wasn’t very involved in his life

(tw: dv) when his father was around, it was mostly to cause issues—getting very drunk, fighting with his mother, etc

when wonjae is 17, he fights his dad & basically kicks his ass then tells him to never come back. happy ending

overall, throughout school, wonjae was in and out of trouble. as a rather obvious anomaly, he was no stranger to the meanness of other kids

he likes to say he was cool, calm, and collected, and never let it get under his skin. thats a blatant lie—he would get angry and throw punches, scratch, bite, etc

he eventually was sent to a special “scare em straight” no nonsense type of school

despite his rough exterior, wonjae was always a creative soul. he started channeling his emotions into his art—his favorite mediums being painting, sculpting, and photography

eventually he attends sua as a visual arts major, and now has started his first year in a masters of fine arts to continue his education!

he’s been a member of house gangcheori since his undergrad, but has since moved up to vice captain. he’s very loyal to this team!

while he loves sporting rallies, he dislikes any other sporting events (he sees anything else as boring)

while wonjae was a very angry kid/teen, he has since calmed a bit (read: learned that remaining cool in the face of adversaries is usually more frustrating for them than getting pissed)

(he likes to think so at least. something about sporting rallies still brings out the beast inside. competitive ass)

he can still definitely reach that point though. which is great because emotional outbursts can make him turn into a fox sometimes. fun stuff

he’s overall a self-absorbed type, very confident in himself and often erring on the side of cocky and arrogant

he doesn’t like to open up—he’s very good at making it seem like he’s sharing a lot about himself when he really hasn’t told you much of anything

despite this, he can be a fun friend to have—certainly fun at parties!

if he does like you, he can be nice. i prommy he’s not JUST an asshole

oh also fun fact since he has a tail he taught himself to sew to fix his pants to be tail friendly. but then he just found he liked it, got better, and now makes a lot of his own clothes!

⊹˚. naturally, he loves to swim. please, he's literally like a little fish in the water. it's canon that he sneaks inside the pool after hours (he got on the good side of a staff member and managed to snatch a double of the keys!) ⊹˚. it's also canon that he practices his water bending there. ⊹˚. oh ! speaking of ! his water bending style is very similar to the one from avatar the last airbender . . . meaning that he is heavily influences by martial arts, more specifically taekwondo, since he has been taking classes ever since he was a little kid !

⊹˚. he comes from a very supportive family: a father with the profession of fisherman, and the reason behind his anomaly ! after getting lost at sea and nearly dying, he was rescued by a little clan of water benders and was offered their utmost blessing. ⊹˚. a year later, little sujin is born with a handful of sand in his left hand and the rest is history (the history being: chaotic teenage years as he attempts to keep his anomaly under control ! )

⊹˚. because he was born with such promise, the need to be the best is engraved in his mind. he must be the best swimmer, the best fighter, the best student, and the best bender. no matter the cost.

⊹˚. such a mindset naturally gets him in a great deal of trouble: he skips meals often, pulls endless all nighters, and is a little too good at neglecting his overall mental health. but he's fine ! he's so fine ! he's totally fine, you got nothing to worry about !

⊹˚. he is a marine biology major ! he loves all things marine related, naturally, and would love to work with marine animals in the future. he also dabbles a little bit in engineering, and enjoys making silly little gadgets here and there in his free time.

things only really go downhill in the last 6 months of his undergrad with 2 wrecking balls: a devastating breakup and (TW: ILLNESS, DEATH) his dad being diagnosed by stage iv lung cancer

its right after graduation that sejoon immediately falls off the face of the earth for 3 years to be his father's sole caretaker until his death (END OF TW) no one i mean no one knows what he was doing or where he is

but hes back now to do his mfa!! let the bella loca where the hell have u been-isms begin

vibe wise hes bright, social, easy to talk to but can also be kind of spacey eccentric and the ultimate pacifist. the type that makes u feel like u guys are sooo close but then when u reflect ur like actually idk if i really know much about him at all (which!! is not totally intentional he just makes for a better listener and is great at making conversation about what YOU have to say). these days that same can do energy is there but it doesnt feel the same if u look too close but its fine!!! everything is fine

grows up travelling between seoul/vancouver. she spends summer with her dad, learning traditional dance from the beneficiaries in his foundation, and the school year in vancouver with her mom.

never feels like she quite belongs in either place, because she's too western to be eastern and vice versa. does her best dealing with that dissonance, but there's only so much to be done.

power manifests when she's 17-- she picks a stray eyelash off her friend's cheek, tell them to make a wish, and the next day, her friend's favourite idol group announces a concert in vancouver. doesn't think much about it, but it keeps happening. no way she's an anomaly--- what the fuck sort of power is that.. but she decides to test her hypothesis anyw. obviously, she's proven right!

the only anomaly in her family, but she's human-passing, so there's not that much change in her life, minus her brothers trying to use her to get a leg up in their respective careers.

naebin was born in daejeon as the older sister of twin boys, her father a truck driver and her mother a secondary school teacher. her childhood was rife with difficulties, as naebin was plagued with frequent nightmares that would disrupt both her life and her family's. she'd dream that a cloud of darkness was creeping across her bedroom towards her. it would cloak her hand first, then her feet; before she knew it, she'd be completely absorbed into the shadows and spreading through the entire house. she'd hear the muffled sobs of her parents and younger brothers from down the hall, somehow knowing she was responsible but having no idea how to stop it. she'd awake screaming, sometimes not even in her bed, as though the very shadows in her dreams had tried to carry her away. her parents would come running; a mixture of worry, exhaustion and frustration obvious in her mother's eyes every time, though her father often simply looked sympathetic. they seemed to be at a loss, and so was she. sometimes, naebin would try and force herself to stay awake all night, on a vigilant mission to stop these events. her parents, hardly able to afford the extra expense with three children to look after, took her to a sleep specialist in order to assess the issue. when that didn't work, they brought her to a child psychologist in hopes that talking through her emotions could resolve these haunting nightmares. the woman was very kind and reassuring, reminding naebin that it wasn't her fault she was experiencing these things. her warmth and understanding towards naebin's expression of emotion built up a small bit of confidence in the young girl. for awhile, her nightmares lessened considerably in intensity and frequency. life with her family was finally starting to normalize. however, nothing could prepare her for the shape her fate was about to take.

›› 𝐛𝐢𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐢: 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒔

naebin's mother got the call around 2:15 on a rainy winter morning. her husband's truck had been involved in a ghastly accident while making a late night haul, and he hadn't survived the collision. when naebin was being awoken in the middle of the night alongside her brothers, she knew a traumatic blow was about to be dealt, but she prayed and wished to whoever was listening that she wasn't about to hear what she already suspected. when the words fell from her mother's lips, naebin went instantly colder, but that was only the tip of the iceberg in the sequence of events that night. as tears spilled from she and her brothers' eyes, darkness began to overtake her body. it was as though shadows were seeping from her very pores and engulfing her entire being. she heard errant screams from her mother and brothers as the void grew, completely replacing naebin in her spot on the bed. distantly flowing towards her were the echoing footsteps of her brothers following their mom as she ran from the room in fear. in the moment, naebin didn't really care, she just wanted to cry in the dark. for once, the shadows actually felt like home.

›› 𝐛𝐢𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐢𝐢: 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉

finding out she was an anomaly with darkness mimicry didn't do much for naebin's sense of worth, especially considering her ability caused so much despair for her family, who was already dealing with the loss of her father. life changed a lot after the news got out; naebin was kicked out of her primary school, her psychologist was too afraid to see her anymore and her own family couldn't look at her the same way. she knew her mother still loved her, but she also knew her fear was slowly beginning to cloud that emotion. the family was forced to move from their neighborhood to another due to increasing unrest from their neighbors, while naebin's paternal grandmother moved in with them to help out. halmoni kwayoung felt like naebin's only ally at times, and provided her with a sense of unconditional support and valuable information. naebin learned her paternal grandfather was also an anomaly. he'd passed away long before she was ever born or even before her parents met each other. naebin's father had been sworn to secrecy about his own father's abilities, as naebin's mother had never been too keen on them. the woman's coldness towards naebin suddenly made a lot more sense, but it did nigh to comfort her. her brothers, though somewhat fearful of her newly discovered power, seemed to love her just the same. it was a scant ray of light in the darkness she had wrought on her family. still, naebin never protested her mother's outward indifference toward her. the young girl feared her own power, how could she expect her mother to feel any differently? she desperately wanted her mother's love and acceptance, but if she never obtained it, whose fault was it? naebin stewed in this melancholy and self-disdain for months, learning the unfortunate fact that this despair could be spread to others when in her dark form, if she could muster enough strength and sadness. it had her clinging to the hope that somehow, someday, her ability could be suppressed. she didn't want to feel like the very essence of corruption any longer. when she learned of the existence of nullivi, something she'd thought for years was just an unrelated throwaway commercial on tv she heard in the background, she felt like it was too good to be true. after receiving the patch and putting it on, she was delighted to find out that it did, in fact, have a temporary nullifying effect on her ability. she couldn't control the wave of tears that hit her; feeling like for the first time since this entire ordeal started, she could possibly gain a sense of normalcy. she was able to go back to school, she found a great therapist who was comfortable with anomalies, she was beginning to make friends and her mother even started to address her with more warmth than she had in nearly a year. the dark cloud that had hovered over her for so long had finally dissipated somewhat. she knew she wasn't rid of her abilities entirely, but to even be allowed a reprieve from them for a short time was more than she ever thought she'd get to experience.

in her mid to late teens, naebin had gained more confidence in herself just by the sheer strength of the bonds she'd made in the school systems of seoul. some of the students even had abilities like her, allowing them to compare patches and horror stories. it made her see her ability through a less harsh lens, though there were still aspects of it she could do without. right around the time she was set to start applying for college, it was announced that a university especially for anomalies was opening its doors. naebin, who had for so long felt like such an outsider due to her darkness mimicry, finally had the opportunity to be largely around people who would understand. she was accepted for their bachelor's program in child psychology, as she wanted to offer guidance to children who were trying to process grief, especially those whose situations were exacerbated by their anomaly status like hers was. being apart of sua's student body was even more enjoyable than she'd initially thought. she tried out for house haetae's sporting rally team in an attempt to get more comfortable with her ability and to break out of her shell in general. she enjoys it, though sometimes its intensity gets to her. despite the team's propensity for propelling yin members to the top, naebin is perfectly happy being in the background as a yang member. she's one of the only yang members who have stuck it out over the years. after achieving so much success in gaining her bachelor's degree, naebin has officially entered the first year of sua's masters program. her relationship with her brothers remains strong, though she misses them terribly. her mother is a different story, as naebin beginning to embrace her ability in certain ways has seemingly fractured things between them once more. though naebin somewhat accepts herself now, she fears she may never truly receive that same sentiment from her mother.

naebin has a long history of being your typical wallflower sad girl with a certain level of distaste for herself and her preternatural abilities, but the love she's lacked giving herself in the past has always been reserved for others. she's genuinely the kindest, most loyal person even when you treat her badly. she wants the best for everyone around her, even if it means sometimes extending her empathy to the wrong person.

she can be rather gullible and overly trusting and gives the benefit of the doubt to people even when they don't deserve it. genuinely just wants to help tbqh

she's a massive worrier!!!! gets anxiety abt nothing at all and is 1000% the type to make you call her when u get home to let her know ur okay. texting is not enough WHAT IF THEY KIDNAP YOU AND USE YOUR PHONE? I NEED TO HEAR UR VOICE.

yang taeri, 23, textile & fashion design major with self replication

ok now that that's out the way, she was bork in new york city, usa! went by the english name madison. her family did well for themselves because her dad was an it manager, but her mother was an anomaly with psychic powers and fully leaned into the occult. well known within the city and charged people for readings and what not. a controversial figure due to it, but people kept coming to her in an attempt to deal with lifes uncertainties.

not only to mention that taeri is the oldest out of 3 and looks nothing like her younger siblings. at all. only vaguely looks like her mom. like come on, as she grows up she knows she's mixed but it's not something that her parents bother talking about, with her or even each other, just settles as the constant elephant in the room. eventually she learns to stop asking.

but! taeri is cute and charming and not at all odd like her mother and so people just learn to ignore that part. she still gets invited to things and does well in school because she doesn't talk about her mom and people just know that she's not going to be like her.

but mom is right a lot of the times. like how she told her that she was an anomaly too but didn't specify more than that. she's seven in a martial arts class ( shoutout to dad ) when she gets kicked and an identical clone also gets thrown out of her. that's the first time that it happened in public, however. a couple of year before that she talked about having an imaginary friend, as most do, and thought that the replicas that she just ... pulled out of herself was imaginary. turns out they weren't.

anywho i'd like to believe that new york is more liberal-ish when it comes to anomalies so despite that, it doesn't effect her reputation too much. at least not yet.

fast forward to high school and she's class president, golden girl, sweetheart. the resentment has grown with her mother as she refuses to fit in and loves to put on a show, but she also uses her powers to help taeri excel too. she doesn't understand why her mom is still so kind to her even when she doesn't admit her existence outside of the house. it's a love hate thing that she can't exactly explain. her younger sister is a couple of years younger and they go to the same school, and has taken on her mothers ways. she overhears a cheerleader call her a 'fucking occultist' and she just. kind of sees red. she's pushing two other clones of herself and beats the girl's ass LOL, completely unexpected coming from her. it takes a couple of dudes from the football team to get them off of her too.

it also doesn't help that same week her mother sits her down and tells her the truth ⏤ that she's the product of a heated love affair between herself and a different man that left the country once she told him he was pregnant. or at least, she thought that was the case until he started writing you recently, showing a letter that's addressed to her. then it clicks why no one ever discussed anything with you.

lots of conflicting feelings as it turns out this is a man is a foreign diplomat currently in south korea. apologizes for what he's done and would like to get to know her. she tells her mother she isn't going, mother states that she'll end up there sooner than she thinks. it makes sense when taeri attempts to make up with the cheerleader and thankfully charges aren't pressed, but taeri does end up expelled and her reputation tanks. so, y'know, maybe a change of pace in korea isn't so bad after all.

she ends up moving to finish up her last two years of high school and realizes that this dude has moneyyyyy! upper class lifestyle, and a younger baby brother with his korean wife. adjusting to life in korea was hard as hell, especially because anomalies were looked down upon much more than in america. her actual father gives her a nullivi patch as he doesn't want to deal with her powers, and she's not fond of it but keeps her head down and plays along until she gets to sua. spends time w her dad on the weekends, he likes to have breakfast and he's very open to answering whatever questions she has.

which brings us to present day! she's a fashion major because it's the one true thing that she has a passion for, and eventually would like to work at a fashion house or start her own little boutique.

uses the patch for classes only / when told to, but otherwise you may catch her around multiple places around campus at once. she wants to know everything!

joined curious currents because she's nosy as hell and can't put her fucking camera down, and considering she's minoring in marketing it made sense for her to be the social media manager. very bubbly with them but not in your face.

you see, sera's life has been L after L after L, back to back

her mother? poor, modest, v excited to have a daughter. her f*ther? HWAKTHU. fluctuating between rich and poor, gambling his life away, alw fucking around, messing w the wrong people, scamming!

scammer on scammer hate crime ensues when a dubious low budget genie irl tells sera's dad "give me all the $$$ u have. but dw dw! i can grant u a wish... such as.... i'll give ur newborn daughter the power of Luck." and he leaves out the part that Luck is bad n good.

and what does her dad do? he listens!!! a born, living, lucky charm? sign him tf up!!!! he waits for sera to be born, tells her mom that he has to leave n he will take sera (so he doesnt have to share the lucky charm yknow), the mom tries to fight for the daughter but... ope... person w money vs person w no money.... yea... head low.

sooooo, she spends her childhood pretty happy. daddy's girl n all! w an ability that she believes to be some form of Good Luck Manip. she sees her dad as the best man in the world and he. loves. it. why? bc it makes her ability v powerful and he keeps on winning, buying expensive things, not being caught etc etc... just living the best life off of sera... but ofc. nothing lasts forever.

sera enters her teenage years and hell breaks loose. she accidentally learns that her mother didnt abandon them (as per her dad's fake sob story), she figures out that her dad is no Fair businessman and it alllll comes crumbling down.

so young and so shaken up with new, different emotions, she quickly learns that she can manifest bad luck as well. luckily(?) for her dad, she was still in denial so the bad luck wasnt strong enough to k*ll him off.... but it did take away all of his riches which cld count as murder in his books. long story short, he becomes a Monster, trashes her things, kicks her out, leaves her out in the street w nothing.

i'll try to make this part rlly brief bc i want her Trauma to be traumaing but i also dont want to get into graphic deets!! couch surfing at a friend. friend dies. parents hate her. sera starts searching for her mom, someone tells her that she's dead. ope... sera tries to end it all bc of that by drowning. randomly gets saved. ends up living w this cute ol lil lady, a retired nurse, who feels like a grandma figure for sera... baow. accidental bad luck manifestation makes them get into an accident, guess who survives thru survival luck and who doesnt. yea....

so ... you may be thinking ... now what. WELL. she hears abt sua ... abt the Patch (one that she cldnt afford/get her hands onto) so she decides well. im sick of being the bad guy (accidentally) all the time, im sick of spiraling, im sick of my ability fluctuating. let me become a nurse and help out! maybe i'll finally get to use my power for proper good this time....

soooooo she tries to cheer up during her uni years. she gets more control over her ability but theres still lots to learn! her emotions still affect her deeply but its no longer THAAAAAAAAT bad.

her goals? become a v v v good nurse. gain complete control over her ability and use it w her job. help ppl w her power. find her mom. and... devious smile..... find her dad to k*ll him w the bad luck.

ㅤㅤㅤ 𖹭 ㅤㅤㅤ ability .

luck manip!!! she can give u good luck or bad luck!!! her eyes turn green when it's good luck & black when it's bad luck! she can touch u, look at u, think of u, it works either way! ofc, she can do more w a touch than w a thought!

she can make you get the luck you need to find your keys or to win the lottery! she can make you spill ur coffee all over ur new clothes or get u vvv sick! anything goes! if it's a casual ez kind of luck (keys, coffee), then she'll need a few moments to regain her energy. if its smth more extreme (lottery, sickness), she needs a few days (even up to a week), to recover!!! the more complex it is, the more it drains her energy!

it's all within d laws of physics & limits of 'reality' ! so she cant get you to magically materialize ur lost keys back and she cant spill invisible coffee on u! ALSO!!! this ability only works in like... idk.... a 100-200 miles radius!

her Survival Luck is also present n exists and she can (and has alrdy) managed to survive a bunch of extreme situations (see above)! however, the Way that she survives it.... out of her control fr.... cld be a scratch, cld be 5 broken bones, not up to sera!

she's v chill and looooooves helping people!!! not super hyper BUT still a fun girl nonetheless! not boring by any means despite being v toned down and lowkey!

DESPITE the previous bullet point, she is extremely afraid of getting attached to people and LET ALOOOOONE love them so she tries to keep everyone at arms length. why? obv bc of her ability and her fear of not being able to control it properly... she doesnt want another friend + grandma incident.

has a tendency to become mellow / nostalgic and can be caught overthinking... which she tries to do while on that nullivi .... ofc! LDFDFGJJ

raised with manners, so they're very respectful. especially of their elders and women. they don't eat first when elders are present, they offer assistance with tasks ( normally being the first to jump to help someone ), they tend to offer to listen to someones worries, etc.

since their power is based on internal balance an yin and yang, they can be found doing a lot of activities around campus to clear their mind from time to time. ranging from yoga in the morning, to sketching, jogging, endurance workouts, forcing themself to relax, and burning incense. think uncle iroh but as a modern day, 23 year old college student. when their energy ( chi ) isn't balanced, they experience disharmony, a very tiring process that causes the typical results of disharmony except ... personified. so gender switching to female, being depressed, stressed and anxious with tummy issues ( normal hot girl sh*t imo ) all at the same time and against their will etc.

contrary to how i explain them, they are not as calm, collected nor as wise as uncle iroh. they more so have the personality of zuko, around when he started being hot and also sokka. so sarcastic, awkward, still a hot head, playfully, clumsy, and always cracking a joke or two. the vibes of a beloved leader that probably shouldn’t be leading.

they're wanderlust coded. i have this weird headcanon of them, where its a day off and they just turn off their phone at night and go for a walk in the city and just exist, looking at the city lights, sitting and looking at the river, grabbing ice cream even though its cold out side and then eventually heading back to the dorms as if they didn't just disappear for a few hours without a word. they definitely do this often too, while eating some cheap buy buy one get one snack they bought at the a convenience store.

despite how they may act sometimes, they love skinship; on that note, physical touch & quality time are their love languages.

silly but their side of the dorm follows the rules of feng shui and they’d probably playfully nag their roommate ( or any friend really ) to let them just to rearrange one of their things so their stuff fits in the room a little better.

following the ( TW ) death of their grandmother, they fell into the deepest depression and stopped wearing the patch for a while, ( no longer than a month ). the extremely negative emotions they faced kept them female the entire time, but soon enough they caught feelings for someone. feeling happier, they started the went back on the patch again. in the crudest tldr; they got their heart broken pretty badly. they decided to go off of the nullivi patch one last time after falling head over heels for a normal person. the showed them their ability, and just to be completely truthful about who they were, they shifted. it backfired pretty quickly and they were shunned, shamed and rejected. this is one incident they still struggle with letting go, and it currently affects how they view / form relationships.

they don't hate nullivi but they don't like it either. it messes with their internal balance which can make it tough to use their powers later and requires a pretty strict regimen when off of nullivi to balance their energies again.

They actively seek connections. They’d give anything to connect and have someone understand them, deeply and intrinsically without feeling like they’re being judged for who they are. They want to be able to open up and have someone see them for them; for whats really the inside and not just whats the outside, no matter what form they may take.

CRUSH : it starts with those shy glances across the room and before they know it , all of a sudden all of the songs they listen to were about your muse. for some reason, your muse has caught jinsol's eye. your muse gives them butterflies, hope even, but they don't call it a crush for nothing. ( possible routes: unrequited & requited ) SPRING FLING : what you had was quick and fun, and meaningless. in the end, there was a clear agreement from both sides that it was no strings attached, hence a clean break was expected. so why does it feel weird watching you walk by them without a word? and why does it sting to see you with someone else? THE DREADED GROUP PROJECT : lets be real, no one in this group ever really liked each other. Since the start of the semester they've kept a pretty good distance from each other, but despite their best efforts, this year they share a class and even worse they've been partnered together for a group project. their final grade is literally dependent on them working together and fast. will they do suck it up long enough to pass ? ( 0 / 2 ) A RIVAL : no need for formalities here. this is someone they just can't seem to see eye to eye with. your muse is someone who sees their presence as a threat and/or vice versa. it could be a friendly rivalry, or a genuine grudge filled feud. whatever it is, bring on the angst ! ( * would be great for rival muses in other rally houses )  TRAINER:  someone they can honestly throw down with. as a member of samjoko, they're constantly trying to find new ways to use their abilities to their advantage. whether its through regular hand to hand combat or testing the limits of their powers, they crave the power to propel samjoko's reputation further and feel like its their sole responsibility to harness said power. EX: a recent ex that broke them / or / the person they broke . the first person they sorta came out to about everything. their playlist has to be full of sad-ish songs for a reason right? this person is the reason, the reason for their glow up in public, and glow down in private. the break up could've been they're fault, could've been the other persons. all they know is... they hate that they still think about your muse as often as they do.  OTHERS : fellow members of samjoko, other residents in blue dorm, the usual fwb/ewb, enemies, childhood friend, friend groups, acquaintances, roommate etc connections. maybe people in the same major/classes, or another club of some kind?
