i think the detail of nobimaru and inari having similar undereye crinkles is really what helps them resemble each other even with nobimarus changed hair and diff eye shape

that being said the fact nobimaru is one of few men in the series drawn with this specific mouth shape and the tendancy to :D also sell it for me...same with how they both use similar hand gestures when they talk to oversell things

also its amazing how different kid nobimaru feels from Kid Nobimaru

its defo the eyes and the expression. this is the only time we see Kid Nobimaru's eyes highlighted this way. Usually they're entirely dark or gradiated. he also rarely ever changes from that creepy smile.... and the eye crinkles still feature. weve only got two panels of babymaru but i think its interesting
