Mass incarceration is one of the largest public health issues facing America. People who have been incarcerated experience chronic health issues, mental illness, and substance use disorders at a statistically much higher rate than the general population. After a man threatened to call the cops on our bake sale and have us shut down, I was worried we wouldn’t sell anything (that’s why we moved locations). But you guys showed up for these amazing organizations.
