hi! just a question about face claims: if we were to apply for a character and have them be non-binary or trans, would the face claim need to be non-binary or trans in real life? just curious, thanks!

this is a really sensitive and pervasive subject in the rpc and even as a trans person, i haven’t completely figured out my opinion on it. representation really matters, but in western media it can be so hard to find people who look like us !

admin mar and i have talked it over and we have decided that if the mun identifies as trans themselves, this is up to their discretion. if the mun is cis, we would really encourage them to find a nonbinary or trans fc.

we would also like to add that regardless of your identity, you should check to see if you can find an actually nonbinary and/or actually trans person to play your trans character before choosing a cis person to play them. i’m going to link dear-indies’ transfc and nonbinaryfc google docs for you to look through ! we’d be open to seeing any faceclaim on that list.

PLEASE DO NOT USE A CIS MAN TO PORTRAY A TRANS WOMAN OR VICE VERSA. this is completely offensive and has real ramifications in the lgbtq+ community.
