MAN CHOKED BY FOOD.  At 10 o'clock on Thursday night, Dr. H. McLean, of Parker street, Williams-  town, was called to the Royal Hotel, Nelson place, Williamstown. He found James MacIldowney, aged 56 years, single, in a state of collapse. The doctor ascertained that MacIldowney, while eating, had been choked by a piece of food which had lodged in his throat. He died soon afterwards. The body was removed to the Williamstown police station, and afterwards to the Williamstown morgue. It is believed that MacIldowney has a brother at Ascot vale. The police are endeavouring to communicate with him.

If you learned to drive in the 1980 or 90s then you have heard the name RICHARD COX! He was one of if not the first person who made a career out of teaching people to drive defensively in Barbados. If you attended Cox’s School of Defensive Driving then you were taught well. He would not take you in for your Driver’s License Test if there was any chance that you were not ready. Mr. Cox spent over 30 years as an advocate for road safety and made a valuable contribution to our society. It is with great sadness that we learned Mr. Cox passed away yesterday morning after suffering a brief illness. May he Rest In Peace and Rise In Glory. #RestInPeace #DefensiveDriving #CoxSchoolOfDriving #BarbadianAdvocate #RichardCox #roadsafety #notabledeath https://www.instagram.com/p/BxxCSGyA9N7/?igshid=1tp9hgj22eqyx
