tbh, realizing how many people actually like the Darth Vader AI unironically would be such a gutpunch if I had any faith in humanity left
#Like I had a feeling#and ive been spending the last like year reading tons of pro-AI and anti-labor sentiment#so its not a surprise at all#but actually looking and seeing a lot of people vehemently angry and defending it#was still...an experience that I would've preferred to do without#I can accept it being the future in the sense that corporations have lots of power and many people are apathetic#but its definitely uncomfortable to see the open welcome#even in the context that I *know* there is also astroturfing and corpo-backed opinion spreading#because ive seen some of it first hand including the#obvious of burner accounts with near-copy-paste talking points#back before it was this specific issue#also im feeling that possibly apocryphal 'some fool thing in the balkans' rn because#I've been saying for months that I bet a Disney owned character will be testing the limits of 'AI interactive media'#not a hard guess ofc but neither were the balkans#disney is explicitly one of the companies named in the strike authorization and they are always pushing the limits of interactive media#and they have a huge roster of characters
