#oc: brianna mckenna

you know, you always see fic/posts about Sole Survivors who were agents for the Railroad, infiltrating the Institute or BoS to help synths etc

but i never see anything about Sole Survivor taking anything they can from the Institute to help the Commonwealth

my Sole Survivor would be smuggling seeds, medical supplies, toilet paper, any kind of portable technology that could help people

she would see everything the people in the Institute take for granted, and try to imagine a way she could give that to the Commonwealth

in her memories and dreams, she remembers a world with flowers and greenery, better/stable crops, and she so desperately wants to bring that to the surface again. it's part selfish but also a gift of hope she wants to give to people, and she will not ever give up on this.

she so desperately wants the world to be green again, she doesn't want that to be something of the distant past that the people of the Commonwealth would never see again.

humankind can rebuild and have a green world again

What is your character's favorite physical trait they possess?

Holly has complicated feelings over her hair and eyes, as she has fae hair and human eyes. These traits make it hard to survive in the fae or human world as they're reminders of what she is and is not, but even though they're a tremendous pain in the ass that have caused her nothing but grief, she does like her features.

Des and Brianna love their hair and take great pride with it, despite it being a pain in the ass to keep soft and clean in Fallout universe. (also just being clean in general tbh)

What would your character wear if they were told they had to gussy up?

Holly and Elinor already are lowkey gussied up compared to normal people, so if they had to go all out it would be like full ballgowns and shit

Brianna would wear this rose dress and Des would wear this red dress if Rafe was taking her for a night on the town in New Vegas

Is there something about your character's appearance that they would change if possible?

Elinor would possibly like to have her old hair color back, before the divinity machine changed it to white. She changed her mind, however, because Flynn really likes it.

How much interest does your character take in trends?

none of them do, they're too busy about all the shit going on in their lives to care about what's trendy

Is your character's favorite color a color they wear often?

yes, Holly likes to wear red whenever possible. Elinor likes to wear lavender. Wulf likes to wear black. However, Brianna and Des are both in Fallout universe so their options are more limited and practicality takes precedence.

my sole survivor, Brianna, sees the ghouls and skeletons and thinks "that could have been me"

sole survivor is a ghost of a dead world

like i could see my sole survivor, on the really bad, bad days, cry over how it could have so easily been her

she could have been a decaying skeleton outside the Vault. she could have been a ghoul, shunned by society, her body no longer recognizable to her previous self. or worse, she could have become a mindless, ravenous feral, living out her days in some decrepit hole

she's a woman who time forgot and passed over, she's living on borrowed time, or she could be a synth for all she knows, some last horrific experiment by her monster of a son, who wanted to see if a synth programmed to act and think like his mother, would do anything to save her son? would she still love him?

the sole survivor's story is a very sad story

sometimes i think about the terminal hints in the Institute that hint your Sole Survivor is actually a synth, as well as DiMA hinting as well

like she isn't completely 200% sure they're wrong, so the doubt is always there. like she has specific memories of her early childhood, so she disbelieves DiMA on that point, but what if she was an advanced model created for human!Shaun? A final test for Shaun - what would happen if you made an advanced synth and programmed it to utterly believe that she was the original? How would she react to the new world? How far would she push herself to for her "baby"? Would his mother actually love him?

that's entirely within the realm of possibility for the Institute and what Shaun had become

So while she's not sure she's human or not, the only way to prove one way or the other is to either kill her to see if she has a synth chip or have time prove one way or the other, as synths don't age.

she was prepared to have synth!Shaun live on with Danse once she passed on, but now there's a possibility that she will live on with them

La Vie En Rose cover by Aoi Teshima, this is my favorite most romantic song and I associate with Brianna McKenna, my Sole Survivor

Blood Red Roses by C21FX, a song I associate with Holly of Atterford

Adagio in G (Battlefield version) by Imagine Music, i use this song for Wulf (there's a big battle against demons much later on) and he goes to fight the horde by his damn self. Holly calls him a jackass.

Daughter of the Sea (Lullaby) by Sharm, i know this is for WoW, but I associate with Elinor, her father was so proud of his daughter and used to sing lullabies to her when she was little about his little girl. She was his little star. He made a music box for her that she has treasured for the thousands of years she's been adrift, her last connection to her father.

Bonus song:

You Will Be My Ain True Love by Alison Krauss, I associate this with Brianna McKenna. Her past husband Nate was a war veteran who lost faith in everything after retiring from service. He just wanted out in more ways than one. But once he met Brianna, she was the one point of light in his life. The songs takes on meaning again with Danse when he goes on the run from the Brotherhood. His life lost all meaning and his one tether to finding his purpose again was Brianna.
