revamped the limolus base and messed around with it a bit! including messing with the lineart so now everybody has their distinct traits, which is something that bugged me a lot about the old set even though i know why i did it

man, remember when tumblr let you rearrange photos in photo posts? give it back please. what happened.

hi it's 230 am and i turned some lineart i had lying around into a base so i could figure out markings

left to right: korat, tielle, ellie

korat's had butt markings this ENTIRE TIME (read: several years) but they were just never visible because they're on his butt. now you know. also tielle now has a marking where her nose was on her old designs bc its cute. also also i didn't draw ellie's tattoo but i probably shouldve

i posted two of these last night but while im mucking around with bases: spacecat squad!

brome (they/them) hasn't changed much over the years asides from me trying to figure out what colour "chartreuse" is. and getting it wrong. several times. in my defense chartreuse is one of those colours where it can be Fucking Anything and im just trying to avoid them having too similar a colour to irakus

(i love brome because they weren't even intended to exist. they're an audience stand-in i made up on the spot and had the mspa forums suggest a name and colour for. and then korat thought they were the impostor)

korat (he/him) is a grumpy bastard nobody likes and was SUPPOSED to be the protagonist but then brome stole the protag role on accident. his dislike of brome is unrelated. he has a character arc about accepting himself and getting the stick out his ass, and also literally nothing has changed about his design SINCE HIS CREATION except for messing with his nose stripe and what shade of red his markings are (not counting species redesign stuff)

tielle (she/her) was the only one with unique patterns for a very long time despite the colour mutation SUPPOSEDLY being very common. i think the only ones that have it are her, tes, and dave and i keep botching dave's. her markings have p much always stayed the same though, asides from her now having a lil nose marking to reference, uh, when she had a nose. back when noses were a thing. also she has unique eyes because she's blind but mostly because 14yo me decided it looks cool

dejon (he/they) is.. complicated? his markings change around a lot. the Only consistent marking has been the ear stripes and even then they used to look different. this is mostly based off his hopecube incarnation but without the eyeshadow, although i'm probably gonna have to mess with saturation because their original colour was REALLY bright

telika (she/her) also hasn't changed much asides from getting her orange eyes back! which she literally only had for her very first artwork. also she's very unrecognizable on this base because i didn't realize just how much her bangs are a Key Identifying feature. it doesn't help that she has markings there too fghxlkfh

teli also gets an alt base because her original artwork gave her a grey underside and i'm figuring out how i feel about that? this is probably something i'm gonna need to Actually Draw Her With because this base does not do her justice lmao. literally the only ones on-model are brome and korat
