Introducing my Welcome Home OC: Mothika Silkrose!

I haven't posted anything in a while, in fact I haven't even been on here in a while. But now that Welcome Home is starting to get insanely popular, I decided to share my OC with you people <3

(Heads up: I currently do not have a drawing of her as I can not draw for the life of me but my awesome friend is working on one so expect that soon! There is a physical description at the end, however!)

Mothika!

“Mothika is the shyest and kindest neighbor in Welcome Home, and the biggest rockstar too! With her calm nature, it’s surprising to see how well she can work all of her instruments! Go anywhere near her house and you’ll never hear the end of her music! Although being one of the quietest, you can often see her bustling about the Neighborhood or helping someone out. Although, you can easily notice her by her glistening wings!”

Mothika is a character that is speculated to have been introduced in the second season of “Welcome Home,” instead of being part of the original cast. The restoration team believes this is due to concept art development existing throughout the time the first season of the show was aired on Television. Uncovered scripts explain that she comes from the fictional country “Germaway” — a combination between Germany and Norway — and is based upon the Rosy Maple Moth. Some uncovered scripts show that she had been fascinated with music ever since she was a larva. She first took up playing the guitar as a hobby, with it eventually turning into her primary instrument. Sources confirm that since then, she’s added the Piano, Drums, and Saxophone as her other instruments.

Because she was introduced later into the show, no sources have been found to conclude who she was friends with in the show. However, Franny, Julie's sister, has been suggested as one, citing multiple drawings of them together have been uncovered. Despite this, no conclusion can be drawn at this time.

She typically likes to joke through music terms, much to the confusion of the other neighbors. However, she never seems to be too bothered by the confusion and offers to explain her jokes multiple times. A couple of script drafts uncovered showed that editors suggested some of her jokes be taken out due to them being too “musically complicated,” as one note written in pen says. However, her sometimes confusing humor hasn’t stopped the neighbors from being friendly toward her.

Mothika is also speculated to be transgender, given the fact that a more masculine moth character existed during the character development stage that never made it onto screens. This could be the reason as to why she was introduced later as the creators of the show may have still been developing her character during the first season.

Physical Appearance

Mothika appears as a short character with yellow skin and light blue hair that reaches her shoulders. Her hair is slightly wavy but is mostly straight. She has two yellow antennae at the top of her head similar to those of a rosy maple moth. Her irises are Pink and her sclerae are black. She wears white glasses with a one-piece pink dress that goes down to her knees that has a ribbon on each shoulder. She also wears light blue flat Mary Jane shoes that matches her hair color. On her back, she has small moth wings that are outlined in pink and are colored in blue, pink, and white.
