The shot on the left is legit my very first oc shot in cyberpunk. Id taken some landscape shots before this but this was where the blorbo brainrot started. Vons definitely come the farthest in terms of design, from big beefy maelstrom to like.. wet rat white boy energy I guess lol. She still got a long way to go though, probably gonna be working on her forever, she's my favorite little passion project😌

Didn't even realize these were exactly a year apart till I checked the dates!

Luis is basically the exact same as when I first made him, just the perfect design from the moment of creation😌He's the OC that really started my VP journey, I made him just to take pretty pictures of and learn the ropes. Glad I finally have the skills to show off his full beauty!

Lynk's design is one that feels both entirely different and very much the same to me. Same overall vibe and style, but more refined I suppose. Less scrungly mess of wires and more sleek and sharp borg. Really love their current design now, still wanna make 'em custom tattoos but it gonna be a while till i'm at that modding level!

Dallas was a design first backstory second kinda OC. I love her old design, think all the cyberware and makeup are really cool, but as I fleshed her out it just wasn't Dallas. Found myself in a comfy spot with her now though, even ended up making her her own custom complexion!

Technically there's an even farther back design I could use for Sunny but it's so different I can't even consider it him. His old design looks so similar yet so very different its kinda weird😅Sunny's design now is probably the one I'm most content with, I might try and add back his arm tattoos but until then he's pretty much perfect.

When I first made Midas my main goal was a dark moody playboy, which definitely stayed the same just in a radically different way. His OG personality was a playful and dramatic womanizer which I loved but I needed a straight man in this group of idiots and he had to be it. So instead he became a mysterious and gruff guy that has ladies falling over him whether he likes it or not, also he's a vampire now.

Your heart burned so fiercely that it burnt itself out, leaving horrible scars in its wake; scars inside your chest and on the hands of those who touched you, the hearts of anyone who got close enough to connect to yours. The person you are now is no longer recognizable, burnt up by your own anger and passion and love. The injuries can never be fully erased, but they can be soothed with time and trust and forgiveness

Yvonne loves with everything she has, she's clawing for it, aching for it. She'll set herself ablaze again and again just for a single scrap to be given in return. In Maelstrom, she’d do anything for the attention of others, even if she didn’t want it, she needed it. She was the performer in the center of the ring, swallowing fire and pretending that it wasn’t burning her from the inside out. Her past partners took no heed to the blaze in her chest, adding to the flame but failing to tend to it. They poured gasoline just to watch her burn, only to be caught up in the inferno's wake.

Now she is embers and scars, lingering heat and pain, too afraid to touch or be touched for fear it hurts them both. She tries to tend to herself on her own but she just doesn't know how. Scars are haphazardly wrapped, more hidden than healed, and the fire is burned too hot too fast and burnt out just as quickly.

She can’t do it on her own, but now she doesn’t have to. Now she has a gentle hand to guide the matches away and tie the bandages tight. The scars are cared for and the embers in her chest reignited. With just a little bit of work that flame can be turned into a hearth, safe and warm for the both of them.

The Final Girl

you're very tired, aren't you? thrashing and fighting and trying to survive– it has taken its toll, but that has not stopped you. you'll continue to gnaw and scream and bare teeth until you can free yourself from this mess, even if it means being the last one left. there is rest at the end of this hard battle, i promise you. there is a time when the fight will be over– but fighting is all you know, isn't it?

I ended up doing this quiz 3 different times and got 3 different answers for her. All of them fit her to a T, each one fitting her in a different part of her life. This one though, just felt most fitting to her now, in her present timeline.

Von's been fighting all her life, from her poverty-stricken childhood to her time under the Tyger Claws, then finally her induction into Maelstrom. From one horrid situation to the next. Fighting tooth and nail all the way, refusing to be put down, refusing to let it all end for nothing. To have it all be meaningless.

When she breaks free from Maelstrom's grip on her leash there's blood seeped in her chrome hands and her lips are stained black with lace. She tries to live a normal life, or something close to it. A roof over her head. A stable job. Enough eddies to eat for the week. Even then its all so hard when every hand moved too quickly is a knife to the guts and every raised voice is ice down her spine. She bites every hand that means to feed her because she can't tell the difference.

She tried to get rid of every piece of rusted scrap Maelstrom built her with, undo all the damage, tend to all the scars. Even then-

If she replaces every part they touched will it even still be her?

motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?

Back when she was fully ‘ganic she was well coordinated and hyper-flexible. She was light-footed and had a penchant for slinking through unnoticed.

Nowadays though, it's a struggle between what her brain wants her to do and how her junk Maelstrom cyberware actually moves. Her movements are stilted and choppy and she walks with a weird gait because her ex-gf knocked one of her legs out of alignment with a baseball bat (she deserved it a little). Her hands are better than her legs but still, not great. Tasks that require fine motor skills are beyond her. This is all compounded by the fact that she doesn’t have any tactile sensation in her arms or legs and barely any pressure sensitivity.

informal: What's your OC's lazy-day look? How do they like to dress when they're winding down?

At the most? Sweatpants, boxers, and a threadbare crop top. If she's home alone then it's just boxers all the way. She doesn’t have many clothes so if she can get away with not having to wash more then she will.

favorite: Does your OC have a favorite article of clothing or accessory? What is it? What's the meaning behind it? Do they wear it all the time or do they wear it sparingly to keep it safe?

Vons fav piece of clothing is also her most expensive (like 20$ but that's a lot for her). During the end of her Maelstrom days, she thrifted a leather(?) jacket, it's well-worn but still in really great shape. She wears it every chance she gets, usually when it's not too hot out and there’s little risk of a gunfight. She’d be pretty devastated if it got ruined.

Ppffffffffttt yeahhh, the whole situation is pretty messy (like most maelstrom stuff)

Basically, Von’s a nice person but back in Maelstrom she gave biiig shitbag boyfriend vibes. Emotionally distant, always fucking around, that type of stuff, and her output was possessive and petty and just chomping at the bit for a fight. Real winners both of ‘em.

So the whole situation starts out with her output accusing her of cheating on her with their lace dealer and keeping the stash to herself. Von denies it (obviously) and things escalate, her output is screaming and throwing accusations, and Vons just barely listening, higher than a kite. Finally, after a bit of her trip getting thoroughly ruined Von finds her voice and asks why she even cares if she cheats cuz she's only with her bc she's Bricks topdog.

This pushes her output over the edge cuz she's right, that's exactly why she's with her. Maelstrom is a power game, and getting with her is just a smart move to make, but you can’t admit that or it makes you look weak. And looking weak in a den of dogs is a death sentence. It's dangerous and a blow straight to her ego so she's gotta show her whos boss, take her down a notch, and save face.

She grabs a bat and Von’s first thought is to just fuckin book it. Problem is, Von’s on enough lace to kill 5 grown men so her senses are fucked to shit on top of her jank legs. So she's bumping into stuff and trippin' shit enough for her output to catch up to her and get one good hit on her leg. It knocks her knee joint sideways and bends the metal of shin and Von eats shit onto the ground. Fortunately, her output can’t get any more hits after that cuz Von's brain finally catches up to her and she realizes she 3x as strong as her and just grabs the bat and chucks it.

Do they break up after this? Of course not! They just sweep it under the rug and forget it ever happened (until it's ammo for another fight). Just your run-of-the-mill average Maelstrom couples spat.
