Gotta say there's something a little funny to me about everyone taking SUCH issue with Jon's whole "stalk people for their statements" avatar of The Eye feeding thing because like

Gertrude Robinson chopped up Jan Kilbride and threw him in a hole.

Like not to make this a competition of reprehensible evils committed by Head Archivists but we ARE part of the "chop people up and throw them into a hole" institution.

Like yes yes Gertrude did it to prevent the end of the world and Jon's doing his thing because he's hungry and inhuman and no one's supervising him I get that it's different and yes everyone being unhappy about this is deeply thematically important for Jon's whole I'm No Longer Human arc.

I just almost kinda think that after all the maggots and spiders and death and puppets and changelings and C4 and more deaths and end of the world and end of the world and other end of the world, that maybe everyone associated with the Magnus Institute would be so fucking desensitized to it all that they'd instead be like "Oh Jon's eating statements from people? Is anyone dead? No? Okay then happy for him glad he's living his truth now get the fuck out."
