Hi, can you talk a little bit about naruto’s dark, controlling and possessive side? Or if you already wrote about it, link me the post? Thankss
Tumblr media
I mentioned something here, here and probably there is smth in this tag.
And like I said countless times since you guys just don’t care about other ppl, if you write n*ruto’s name entirely it will show up in the search pages and I am fed up with raging SN/SN.S/Nar stans bitching at me.
Sorry (nope, not sorry) to break someone’s bubble but Nar is not a happy ball of sunshine and he’s not selfless.
He was neglected as a child, totally abandoned to himself with some money each month and an apartment he was supposed to clean and manage all alone. He was shunned or treated like sh*t by villagers and classmates alike, his only ‘parent’ was Iruka who couldn’t be with him always, and his idea of friendship, family, everything was twisted, cause try living all by yourself since you’re a child and you have no idea of why ppl hate you and avoid you. Of course he saw the Hokage as this big authority figure that everyone respects and ‘loves’ in his child mind, and of course he wanted to be Hokage so that ppl would finally respect and ‘love’ him. His idea of love is obviously screwed, and it’s a mix of respect, aknowledgement, deference.
He doesn’t have a sense of equality because he never learned what equality is. He was below everyone else being shunned and hated, and his role model was above everyone else, where he aspired to be.
He started to make friends and he’s all about comrades, yes, like all shounen protagonists. But it’s always him reaching out to them, him protecting them, him changing their minds about something (or about himself), him obtaining their admiration and respect from an initial situation of being the opposite, being considered a good for nothing and a loser.
Sasuke is considered the opposite since the beginning, he’s a good student and shinobi, he’s left all alone too and nothing is shown of his alone life but from the little things we see he learned to manage himself and the house better, he didn’t care about people probably talking behind his back about the massacre, and he obtained a good reputation in the academy, so the story starts with him in a different situation. And Nar considers him a rival, he’s clearly jealous of the ‘success’ he has, not realizing that he’s alone too. Because Nar is not empathic at all, and his child self is even less, being a child with clear difficulties in processing things, which makes sense since he had no education basically. He just sees external signs of adjustment and ‘success’ which is what he wants, so he ‘hates’ Sasuke and he provokes him all the time. They become rivals, then comrades (and rivals), then friends, but it’s always Sasuke who, despite his aloof personality, shows positive signs, first hand feeding him, then defending him against Sak*ra, then shielding him and many other little things while Nar is always overreacting or doing questionable, not to say bad things (like attacking him and tying him up to meet Sak*ra) to him.
Nar’s lack of empathy can be seen after the inn scene, cause instead of being I won’t even say supportive but, not irritating, he mocks Sasuke who just woke up after Tsukuyomi, provoking him so that Sasuke, already (re)traumatized and feeling worthless towards both his brother and Naru, challenges him. Right after waking up from a coma, basically. And ofc Nar doesn’t hold back.
When Sasuke leaves in part 1 Nar is enraged, ofc, and he reacts violently, even their fight is very violent, and ofc it is being a fight, but Nar is really really brutal, feral I’d say, and possessive, trying to bring him back. I don’t remember their fight well but if I’m not mistaken that’s when he first threatens Sasuke to break all his bones?
Then Sasuke leaves and Nar starts his own “sad boy missing his ‘best friend’ drama” and all the fandom is uwu look at him so sensitive, but he’s being abstract there, while when he faces Sasuke direcly or indirectly he’s different, more direct and not sentimental. As expected of a badass fighter, cause that’s what he is, that’s what everyone is in the story. when in part 2 Orochimaru calls Sasuke ‘his’ he goes berserk, and his search for Sasuke becomes even more obsessive, to the point of claiming that if they’ll fight they’ll both die and theyll be ok in the afterlife...this is kinda poetic but also creepy af. It’s stalker material tbh. Also because in that moment Sasuke just ‘killed’ Danzo, he’s exhausted, visibly blind, especially after fighting Kakashi, whose fight clearly took his toll on him (He avoided Sak*ra’s pathetic attempt to kill him but that was easy). Nar has all his energies and he’s stronger physically anyway having more stamina and kyuubi’s chakra. But he’s ready to fight him, even tho he gives a speech because ofc. too bad that Sasuke doesn’t fall for it cause he has his own personality and his own goals, which for Nar is unacceptable cause everyone must be on his side, especially the one he wants.
Sasuke remains on his own side until Itachi does his thing and bla bla bla, Itachi first is brougth close to Nar which was interesting to watch but also a huge narrative move to bring Sasuke to his side as well, getting to fight alongside his beloved brother and wanting to understand him and his ideal of protecting Konoha thus summoning Orochimaru, the 4 Hokage and deciding to join the battlefield. Then they fight together and even then it’s Sasuke who accepts Naru’s lead, not the other way round because Nar would never obey anyone who’s not himself especially he wouldn’t obey someone he wants to possess, metaphorically (but if you like also literally).
When the battle is over and their battle starts he shows his true colors. He’s no longer the one wanting to die with his ‘friend’, he’s a leader wanting Sasuke, his ‘friend’ who in his eyes took the wrong road, to get back to the village, because Konoha is HIS concept of happiness. In fact, Sasuke in Konoha is Nar’s concept of happiness. And to obtain it he uses every method, not just a good ol’ fight, the more brutal the better. In fact their last fight has a different vibe, it’s Sasuke the one who’s more stressed and emotional, he’s drained, completely, cause he wants his revolution and he wants to change the world to make him like Itachi dreamed of, and he needs to eliminate Nar for it, he doesn’t want to eliminate him but he needs to and he clearly explains him why in the beginning of the fight. The way he fights is desperate.
Nar instead is calm, his emotions are under control, he fights with his hands but also with mind techniques because he manipulates Sasuke all the time: he tells him that he didn’t understand his own brother (implying that he did it better. That he, who interacted with Edo Tensei Itachi for a couple of hours, understands him better than the brother who basically worships him!), that everything he believes is wrong, that he knows what’s best for him (which is interestingly exactly what he wanted in life, what a coincidence). And it works, cause Sasuke admits his own defeat, and, later, he is further brainwashed and guilt tripped, jailed and submitted until he’s a perfect Konoha dog. Even in his Shinden episodes he’s away but loyal and guilt ridden for his actions. He became Naru’s watchdog, his most loyal servant. Not his equal. He fulfilled Naru’s wish for him.
And, in case someone’s still not enraged because Hawk how dare you shit on their amazing bond?  shocking huh? yeah I write what I think and I am very interested in their bond actually, since it’s a dark unhealthy one, completely unbalanced, just like I’m interested in Nar very much when he’s not idealized, cause he’s much more complex and interesting with his dark side.
Every episode shows Nar’s lack of care and empathy, his inner violence and selfishness, but they also are justified somehow. I can understand why, since his childhood made him self-centered and lacking the ability to interact with people on an equal basis, basically he never grew up for real, he acted like a grown up person but he remained a child inside, a possessive child who wants something and then discards it. And it shows whenever he ‘saves’ someone with his TnJ, this someone becomes his ‘friend’, loyal to him forever, and he moves on to ‘save’ someone else, all the while having Sasuke as his ultimate goal. Too bad that after he saves him too, he discards him as well. Not as much as the other cause Sasuke is special to him, but not as an equal either. I won’t mention the jail moment while Naru is basking in his popularity cause some don’t see it as canon, but when in the manga Sasuke is leaving Konoha and stumbles on Nar he says he didn’t think the other would come greet him. This shows how their relationship isn’t so amazing, since one would imagine that Nar would be 24/7 with Sasuke after he comes back.
So, all these moments show a clear picture of him as a possessive and selfish person who only ‘cares’ about ppl because he wants to be ‘loved’ (=admired and respected and aknowledged as the best) by said ppl, and whose ‘love’ for Sasuke is possessive and obsessive to an extreme point, a desire to be aknowledged and respected but also to submit the one whom he most ‘loves’, because there is no equality in the way Nar sees himself and the rest of the world, including ‘his’ ‘best friend’.
(btw if someone disagrees, keep it for yourself, I don’t give a damn about discussing with you)

Aaaah duck, got hit with another AU like a spear in the head.
This is more of an half assed one. Sorry not sorry if it's not good enough lmao.
Ok so, Bkdk AU middle school + temporary memory loss Quirk + someone actually filmed it.
Ok so, I've seen lot's of fics where Katsuki is the one with the memory losses, so this time, it's Izuku.
They are in middle school. You know how their relationship is in this time. BUT Instead of Katsuki having his head up his ass, he's just pretending to be like this for Izuku to quit being a hero bcz he doesn't want the nerd to get hurt and bcz he's quirkless. So he did the only thing his Kid emotion stunned brain can think of and that's constantly reminding the nerd to just give up, in his Bakugou way.
He doesn't know what he's doing is kinda bullying. Izuku became jumpy and scared, not knowing Kacchan had good intentions (?) And stuff like that.
But one day, the nerd was so late, Katsuki begins to worry about what happened to him bcz, the nerd won't skip a day in his life even if he had a fever.
Izuku walked into class very late with the teacher. Ofc the teacher was all like "Midoriya got hit with a quirk that makes him forget about his memories temporary, he won't be able to remember anything when the quirk wears off but he still knows his facts and bla bla bla he's still going to attend class and bla bla bla treat him nicely."
And just then, Izuku flashed a bright genuine smile to everyone in the class and Katsuki froze because.
When was the last time did the nerd smile like that?
And like, Izuku then sits down in the empty seat in the back where he's not assigned to sit.
And ofc one of the fuckers mockingly told Izuku that he was in the wrong seat, but Izuku, not knowing he was being kicked bcz of his temporary memory loss, asked where he'd normally sat, the fucker was caught of guard bcz Izuku never talked back.
And then. Katsuki was the one who said "you sit behind me, nerd." And Izuku lights up like a fucking Christmas tree again and Fuck, Katsuki's heart can't take it.
Ofc when lunch came in, They were all going to the cafeteria, Katsuki was already surrounded by his usual lackeys, but then.
Izuku approach Katsuki as if he'd never feared him, asking him, with his fucking smile, if he could eat lunch with THE BAKUGOU KATSUKI. While looking at Katsuki with his big doe eyes fuck—
The lackeys behind Katsuki laughed and whispered about how, Deku could ever ask that when he had his memories. They were about to mock and make fun of Izuku when suddenly Katsuki just agrees.
"whatever nerd." Then walks off, then turns around again "oi, are you following or what?" And Izuku just beams bcz this, this feels kinda familiar, so he skipped up to Katsuki, besides him, and they both walked towards cafeteria as if they were best friends.
Extra 1 and 2 were shocked, confused, and slightly terrified (?).
And then this shit keeps happening for a week, both Katsuki and Izuku hanging out everywhere they go. In lunch, walking to another class, going home, you name it.
Everyone was weirded out by Izuku's sudden friendliness bcz of the memory loss but they understand that but they were slightly terrified by the soft (-est he could possibly get) Katsuki, as they get along.
Izuku, not knowing he calls Katsuki, 'Kacchan' so he settles for Katsuki bcz the way they acted, they seemed close and stuff. And Katsuki kept having this light blush on his face whenever Izuku calls that. But he sense a feeling of longing, bcz he knows this is temporary, once the quirk wears off, they'd have to go back to things as they were.
And that breaks Katsuki's heart.
so he makes the most of it as it lasts. They were walking home and suddenly Katsuki kissed Izuku, Izuku was shocked would be an understatement, but... It felt... Right? He hesitantly kissed back as well.
Katsuki didn't expect Izuku to kiss back, so when he pulled away, Izuku asked if they were dating before he lost his memories
Ofc it would totally be embarrassing to tell him that he wasn't bcz what kind of loser kisses their crushes with memory loss out of the blue?!?
So he said yes and Izuku laughed lightly, before holding Katsuki's hand, a blush settles on his cheeks, Katsuki felt his face warmed too.
Both silently continued to walk home, holding hands, feeling content.
And that was the last time they ever came physically close to each other.
The next week, Katsuki had already woken up early to go to school, now there are most of his classmates there in the classroom when suddenly Izuku entered.
Shoulders hunched, head low, trying to keep his form as small as possible, walking quickly to his seat, not saying good morning to Katsuki like he did for the last week.
Like old times.
And that's when Katsuki knew that the quirk had worn off. The teacher came inside and asked Izuku if he remembers anything.
He said he didn't.
And for some reason, that broke Katsuki's heart more.
No one talks about what happened that week bcz they were scared how Katsuki will react so they kept quiet. No one knows about the kids they both shared (or so they thought—)
And things went back to 'normal'. or as normal as they could be. Izuku was getting bullied less by Kacchan, more ignored that anything for the rest of the year.
Time skip to the future where they are now both in their 2nd year in UA, they are proper rivals and friends (?), They get along nicely now, with only a slight playful banter from time to time.
When they were both on shopping duty, they ran into some old classmates of theirs, Katsuki's lackeys, ofc Katsuki was at the other section of the grocery store while Izuku was at the opposite.
And he bumped into them, literally. Ofc there were some apologises and shit and whatnot and then they finally asked if he was ever told what happened during that time he was hit with an amnesia quirk, ofc Izuku said no.
But then one of them told Izuku that they had FILMED IT, supposedly as a joke and stuff, but Izuku was like 'i wanna know!' and they passed the video to Izuku and hurriedly left the grocery store.
When they get back, he went to his room early to watch those videos, and he was shocked by what he had witness.
Then, from the last clip. The cameras was behind a tree it seemed. They were filming middle school Izuku and Katsuki walking home, Izuku felt a bit mad bcz this seemed like a intimate moment for them to just film but watching it.
Then suddenly Katsuki kissed Izuku in the video.
Then the cameras wobbled and stop.
And so did Izuku's mind. His face was cherry red, he felt his heart beating really fast, he still stared at the black screen but he thought nothing of it, all he could ever thought was kacchan, kacchan his crush since forever—
had kissed him.

Hhhhhhng my braincells told me to stop now bcz they could not think of anything anymore, but I hope you enjoy! You can think of an ending if you wanna lol.

PLEASE TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS DARK AU
Took me ten thousand years to reply to this because I wanted to DRAW THINGS about it and I didn’t!!! But I’m in a dark au mood tonite so I typed out my ideas for the
Dark Narn AU
Motivation: I wanted Túrin and Nienor to get buddy buddy with Gothmog and Glaurung…. Literally my motivation for this lmao sorry I just. Monster buddies. It all was inspired by [this drawing] of @nyolofinwe’s where for a split second I thought Túrin was cuddling Gothmog (actually it’s Túrin killing Morgoth lmao!!! Im a dumbass. No regrets tho).
Disclaimer:
1. UGLY things here, it’s fine if you hate it, also you might block “dark narn au” in advance if you want;
2. Also it is my headcanon and understanding that there were mortal slaves in Angband as well as elves.
What I came up with was:
When Húrin and Huor are cornered by orcs in Brethil, they are in a bad spot for pick up, so Húrin stays behind to hold the orcs while Huor runs up the hill. Huor would never have left his brother behind, but it’s a mess and he doesn’t realize what happened until he’s being carried away and screaming his lungs out for Húrin, who’s captured by orcs and taken captive to Angband.
There he undergoes some brainwashing by Melkor, who, true to the essence of the Narn, sees he can profit more from corruption than from killing this agent. By this point Húrin is a teen and hasn’t met Turgon yet, so he breaks eventually and becomes Melkor’s champion.
We have Húrin, and now we need Morwen. To keep the chronology, I prefer having her be captured during a raid on Emeldir’s group of refugees; that can also have Rian either being captured as well, or escaping on and following canon and marrying Huor, which I prefer for this AU (also casts a shadow on them as… replacements for the true heir, sort of! Both having dear family members captured by Morgoth). Either after brainwashing is complete, or during it, she is given to Húrin: a true prize, the heir of the House of Bëor, etc. Túrin is born in 464.
Lalaith is born two years later, which is a weird year because that’s when B and L steal one of Melkor’s silm iirc! Angband has never been more somber, but there is talk of hope among the slaves, of which Morwen hears some, as well as the name of Beren her kinsmen. Húrin, who has developed genuine affection and trust in her, mentions in bed at some point that Beren was killed by carcharoth and that despite the loss of the Silmaril, Melkor is somewhat satisfied that the whole ordeal ended up dividing the kingdoms further apart, and confides in her about some of the plans for the following war (Unnumbered Tears).
The very next day, Morwen kills Lalaith. She knows how other female thralls fare and she knows that as soon as Húrin is dead Melkor would have no more use for them. Better dead than a thrall.
This sends Húrin into a rage out of despair bc he really dotes on Lalaith no matter the AU, and it also hits Túrin pretty hard, he adored his sister. Melkor ofc enjoys the opportunity to turn Húrin even more towards him, and encourages him to get another child from Morwen to make up for the one he lost. I think Morwen was about to end her own life too, or maybe end Túrin’s, but they caught her before she did any more.
In this AU Nienor is conceived (at least) nine months before the Unnumbered and not nine months later. During all the pregnancy she is watched, to make sure she won’t cause an abortion. Morwen names her Nienor, lamentation, and instead of offended, Húrin laughs and says it’s an appropriate name for a warrior that shall bring woe to her foes, who will lament upon seeing her. Morwen is forbid to be alone with Nienor and they are closely watched; as a result, they aren’t very close in this hc, as opposed to canon.
Both Túrin and Nienor have strong mommy issues. Túrin visits Morwen and they have a very similar temper. Nienor loves Túrin but confronts him when she learns he visits Morwen; also I think she sees Morwen in Túrin a little, too, because they’re so similar.
I like the idea of Húrin heading the fight against mortals and him and Huor meeting on the battlefield, and killing each other.
Túrin is crazy about Nienor, though you wouldn’t guess it by looking. There’s a lot of sexual tension that they probably don’t even realize they have. When they’re together there’s a feeling like there isn’t space for anyone else - though Morwen is an always felt presence an the only crack in their bond. Túrin is stoic and reserved and his canon obsession with fighting Melkor is changed into a type of family pride. Right now I think he’s really mad that Dor-Lómin was given to the Easterlings and he thinks a great victory might convince Morgoth to give those lands back to him and Nienor? Though I also like the idea of him snooping around and trying to find Nargothrond or Doriath.
In this AU Túrin (and Húrin before he dies) is buddies with Gothmog who is sort of a mentor to him, and Nienor has a great friendship with Glaurung, whom she rides on sometimes, maybe into battle.
I had considered the idea of either Túrin or Nienor meeting Gwindor by accident on the woods and goading him and fooling him, following him until they got the path to Nargothrond, while the other sibling followed them from afar. One sibling goes into the town and the other comes with the army down on them, no need for bridges I guess. Or the bridge can be deliberate sabotage. Since I like Nienor riding Glaurung, it can be Túrin who goes in, as in canon - OTOH idk how good Túrin can be with deception no matter the AU, so maybe it is Nienor, though, really, is she any better? Also would she have a voice in council? Maybe if she got Gwindor’s ear somehow… idk, thoughts
Finduilas is captured and not killed, though I’m not sure how much better this is. Maybe both Túrin and Nienor take her for consort in an incesty-non-incesty weird triangle dance.
I haven’t thought ahead of this yet, that’s all I have! They need to have a cool and tragic ending, though I’m still unsure how. I feel like they need to fall with Brethil, but then I’m unsure what happens. Also I really don’t want Túrin and Nienor to have a falling out, it’s not my thing. I feel like they need to die together.
Things to consider:
Tuor and Aerin as kin who are held captive. Do T and N know they exist and are there? If they do, how do they react?
Morwen + other mortal thralls, or maybe Morwen + having ELVISH thralls to serve her, which Melkor does to show Húrin how much he honors him bla bla
Húrin and Gothmog banter, Gothmog warming up to the mortal once he sees him being an absolute savage in battle
Gurthang???? I mean, we NEED it. Also something for Nienor!! Maeglin fans will kill me but uuuhhh imagine if the twins had anglachel and anguirel… #goals
Beleg?? Mablung?? Everyone else?
