I love how whenever people get called out on calling things goth that totally are NOT they whip out The Cure as reasoning why bands that aren't technically goth can still be called goth.

Except The Cure had a massive influence on the goth scene. But. GACKT??????

#flashing cw #and i will make excuses for things like buck-tick for their connections or malice mizer when they play darkwave #but vkei as a whole is it's own thing. a scene that interact and inspire each other and the labels and venues and fan culture they share #loosely held together by some sort of visual importance but neither a common visual style nor a common genre they play #don't subsume it into goth it's kind of disrespectful #and whether solo gackt is vkei is questionable as well ...#oh by the way. an cafe is goth. and taylor swift too
