i played with a brand new ultrababy kitten yesterday and my heart still hasnt recovered
#something abt the way it plays#full of energy and speed and instinct sure#but also still barely in control of its body#big awkward soft paws batting at the feathers#it was hiding behind/between my legs and dashing out and running back under the legs#bent over to check something and suddenly it was up on my back looking around....#the joy and innocence of a baby the wonder#i have my adult cats to care for and i love them more than anything but it makes me wistful#hope theyve had a happy life with me too#hope they can still have moments of joy and wonder. hope i can too#ohhhhhh so melancholic. heartache. thx tiny kitten
