My DM at our last session: If you guys want to do some world-building for your characters and their cultures, go for it.
Me: Cool! I have some thoughts I want to write down. It should only be a few hundred words. I won't go overboard.
~*~10k words later~*~
Me: Goddamnit I did it again!
#i have a problem and it's called 'i have to over explain everything-itis'#okay. in my defense. half of that 10k is just session notes that I decided to type up for no real reason#but STILL#he's not going to read 5k of my ramblings about centaur stuff that doesn't matter at all to the game#it did help me with character development tho. so that's what really matters#i literally don't know how to make anything short and it's a problem#i mean. i had 2 weeks to do a lot of thinking about stuff. so can I really be blamed? no. not if anyone knows me#but also that's just Way Too Much and I once again went overboard in my enthusiasm 😭#i am seriously considering continuing my overboarding by slapping together a faux-pintrest board with a bunch of inspirational things#that i used for the worldbuilding and character development. it's a problem. i need to go to bed and not do this tonight.
