Another beautiful HOT day in the ‘hood. Mid-afternoon temps were in the mid 80s with a beautiful blue sky. On my trek to the mailbox I found a perfectly-formed red maple leaf about the size of a quarter in my path. I could not resist picking it up to add to my collection. It was a blue sky day in rural central Oklahoma yesterday. Unfortunately, the temps have gone back up in the 80s again. Just when I thought autumn was here. I was sitting inside and happened to look out the window and saw this beautiful red maple leaf. It appeared to be beckoning me to come outside and take a photo of it. It was a beautiful day in the ‘hood. Early afternoon showed a clear blue sky in the east. When I let Maggie (my dog) out to potty, I noticed these two yellow irises blooming all alone. After trekking out to the mailbox to check the mail and returning the trash bin to its regular resting spot after being emptied this morning, I noticed the beautiful high clouds that were directly overhead. On my jaunt out to the mailbox late yesterday afternoon, I noticed how blue the eastern sky was and then noticed the rising half moon. What a nice surprise!! On the way back I tiptoed through the clover to avoid stepping on honeybees and bumblebees and came upon some red clover mixed in with the white clover - a nice treat. Most of the dandelions have turned to fluff balls now and blown away.
