Okuma’s 12’ Solaris with the IM6 Blank with the 12’ Longitude w/the CX blank. Both C class rods and rated at 4-8oz load. Great Surf Rods by Okuma. Fairly priced. Comes in S or C. I use a 12’ in C on both the Longitude w/the CX blank and the Solaris w/the IM6 blank. These rods have been around for awhile. Chances are your dad may have used one. My 12’ Heavy rods are rated at 4-8oz and at 20-40lb line. I do find the Longitude to be a bit stiffer than the Solaris. Because of the more responsive Solaris IM6 blank I can cast further with it. Okuma’s Tesoro12 conventional reel. The 5 has brought in billfish and the 10 & 12 has handled jigging Bluefin Tunas Off San Diego. I think I may the Only one out there that uses it for shore casting. Smooth & powerful. Braid backing to mono topshot. I have a pair that I mount on a 12’ Heavy Longitude & a Solaris. Weight distribution feels right and I can cast far.
