We all know about the couplings and their importance which are being used in industry to transfer energy from one machine to another machine. But sometimes we don’t know the actual importance and where it can be used for its proper functionality & use. 1.       Cross Joint Type:  These type of couplings are being used in servomotor & stepper motor. It is also available in general purpose motor. It has zero backlash, high torque & allowable misalignment. It has vibration absorption, high accuracy fitting of pin and bush which allows small backlash.

2.       Rigid Type: It has excellent zero backlash. This is high rigid couplings also used in high precision measurement devices.

3.       Bellows Type: It has excellent zero backlash and allowable misalignment. Bellows type has stainless steel. It is used in actuator, semiconductor devices and encoder.

4.       Serration type: these type of couplings is used in general purpose motor it is allowable in misalignment vibration absorption and has excellent electrical insulation which can operate in

-20° to 60 ° and used in mixer & gaming devices

5.       Flexus Type: It is customized product; It is made up of multi-functional. It has extremely high rigidity against torsion also it can shrink and expansion.

A Coupling is device in order to connect two shafts like (Motor and Gearbox) together at their ends for the purpose of transmitting power and torque to gearbox and main purpose of coupling is to avoid misalignment of two rotating equipment. Basically, coupling is mechanical device that is using to cater ends of adjacent parts. During operation couplings work fully functionally disconnection never possible however some time due to exceeding torque limit, there may have chances for couplings to slip or disconnect but that torque-limiting couplings are used.
