Y’know what? After fighting him multiple times in AR, I truly believe that that Impenetrable Dark should be a B skill. But it’s definitely very debatable since A,B, and C slot skills are all over the fucking place. But to oversimplify Impenetrable Dark, it’s basically a skill that disables other skills. So essentially it’s in the same category as Null skills.....but those skills are in the B slot. So why is Impenetrable Dark in the C slot??? My guess would be because the skills that Impenetrable Dark disables are typically C slot skills so that’s why it’s also C skill.

But my theory on why Impenetrable Dark truly isn’t a in the B slot is so that Bramimond can also run a Lull skill at the same time. It’s a pretty unfair combination.

If Impenetrable Dark were in the B slot then the obvious counter to Bramimond would be to visibly buff the hell out of your unit paired with Bonus Doubler/L!Eliwood Support and 1v1 him. But with a Lull skill on him that’s not an option either. He denies visible buffs and debuffs the two main stats you care about when tanking him (atk and res) so you really can’t buff yourself up at all when enemy phasing him. So the obvious choice would be to player phase him with some sort of Hit and Run team or Galeforce team. It puts players like me who rely on omegatanking strats out of their comfort zone but he’s not impossible to play against.

But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s unfair as hell to fight against. Not impossible to beat but unfair as fuck. His tome has 2 very easy to activate effects, and he denies both visible and in combat buffs, unless you want to waste orbs for that obvious whale bait counter skill Joint Drive Atk.

This game has some serious balancing issues. They’ve created an unfair unit to keep up with their ridiculous powercreep. Bramimond punishes units with sky high attack and speed, punishes supertanking with B!Lucina, Kaden, M!Corrin ect. support. Slapping Bramimond with a skill that negates damage reduction would’ve only been the icing on the cake lol. But it’s because they don’t know how to deal with their own powercreep. They don’t think about long term effects of the stats and skills they release until the meta is overrun with them. They gave B!Ike a refine that took him from “meh” to one of the best tanks in the game.......and then decided to profit even further from damage reduction by making Close Call/Repel into skills that scale off of the speed stat.......and then stick them onto units that can reach speeds in the 60s.........

If this is how they’re going to handle “answers” to “problematic” meta skills/units instead of chilling the fuck out with all the powercreep then.............yikes

My personal low-rarity AR investments--

Sophia: Still my dark horse AR recommendation. She has the best statline of the three prf Raven tomes, and prf Ravens are only going to get more valuable with colorless tomes coming.

Boey: He's a better Frobin. Cheapest CC/Vantage mage on account of his refine, and still being able to run an A-skill is great. Also, see above note about Raven tomes.

Virion: Ever felt limited by only having Aversa in one season? Just promote a fucking Virion, bam, that's your Aversa II. Doesn't even need dew, can also run IP if you're big-brained like that. Versatile support slut.

Mamui: Dedicated support slut. If you're running an omegatank, you should be running a Mamui to give them +5 to everything in addition to whatever Drives you can stuff in his C and S. He can do his job with no merges, but his pretty good statline makes him a nice chill soak.

Odin: Stop looking at me like that. When you need a CC mage to eat a TA weapon to bait the enemy out of formation, this is your man. I take him out whenever overlapping ranges are a problem, or dragonkillers.

Eliwood: Literally the best Galeforce cav in the game. Massive dew cost, but special fighter on a horse combined with Speedy Impact is really fucking good.

Libra/Echidna: Very similar statlines, though I think Echidna has fractionally more BST now. Ideal DC units for fucking up that bitch Ophelia. Some people also run Hawkeye for this job and his Lull is definitely nice, but I think his speed is too big of an issue. Also, Gen1 BST.

so I'm not the sharpest knife or whatever, but is there any way to put up a defense for people coming in with three light mythics and one light blessed tank-damage dealer in ar? I haven't been lucky enough to get any defense mythics for light-dark season and the res boost from the enemy eirs go on the base stats and doesn't count as buffs so panic manor does nothing

Hit harder. IP teams and overlapping threat ranges are the best way to deal with omegatanks.
