thinking about ten-year-old kuro in hisui again... and the way he prolly scares ppl about the future by making comments like "it's totally legal to rob ppl of their money (and not just from pay day) if they're weak" (enough to lose to u in battle) - i feel like kuro would be p sour that he can't just farm money by beating up any trainer (besides the fortune sisters) that crosses eyes with him, like he was hoping when he got old enough to start his trainer journey lmao - and being super nonchalant about the whole rift thing bc he assumes it's just part of the whole "every couple of years a new criminal group rises up that a kid has to defeat and i guess that's me!" (honestly the bigger surprise w volo is that he's just one person and doesn't have lackeys trying to stop him lmao.)
Kuro just horrifying everyone with tales of the future... also I bet he'd really like fighting the Miss Fortune Sisters. He actively seeks them out. You know how you can sneak up on them? That's what he does all the time. They absolutely hate this kid.
Ingo talks about a future where Pokemon and people live together in harmony... but Kuro talks about a future where people get challenge on sight by other trainers, and if they lose, they have to hand over their money. He doesn't specify that they don't have to hand over ALL their money, which makes it worse. But every so often he talks about the softer aspects of the future and it puts them a little more at ease. Maybe the future's not that bad. Kuro's just Like That after all.
Also lmao... Kuro's disappointment that he doesn't have a whole evil team to fight is immeasurable. Although he never trusted Volo from the beginning. He always seemed kind of shifty, kind of like that one person he used to know... wait, who was that again? They liked the color blue...
