Hi! Def not criticizing, just curious since this is the first im seeing this! I love the idea of a one character rule, but doesn't it seem a bit sad that there's a potental for a litter to be lost? Some rps implement an activity check, so players who want multiple characters can complete a certain amount of threads to qualify for kit characters. I think limiting characters is good, as it makes way to not spreading yourself thin, but so you think SummitClan will ever see something like that? Given that if there aren't players spare, it results in either losing a character or losing the litter. Again, not criticizing! I'm just super curious as i've never seen a system like this before <3 tysm if you respond !! :DD

Yes, it would be sad to lose a litter, wouldn't it? But not every litter is destined to be born and not every kitten is destined to live. Death, grief and struggle is an integral part of life even for humans, let alone the ones around them, who have fewer tools to prevent it. It defines our culture, our religions, our dreams, our fears, as individuals & as a society.

Here's a secret: You don't find out how many kits you get until your litter is born. 90% of the time you will have no idea kits were lost. You might have a 3 kit litter that was originally 5, but you never had that original number.

But there's a story to be written between the threads of tragedy when you do know, too: If a cat loses part or all of their litter, how will it define them? How will it affect their relationships? And if the clan goes through a period where many of their litters fail or they have none at all, what lengths are they willing to go to find a solution? If they hide from its reality how might it come back to bite them later?

If this thought is too much for you or others, that is understandable, and my hope is that it will be infrequent and gentle. I appreciate that you cared so deeply that you handed me a solution! I know that style works - that's why it's so popular, that's why you see it everywhere. But that's just the thing...

Every roleplay is unique, lovely and made with great effort: there are places that will be what you need them to be. Summitclan is its own place and there are some things that it will keep, because it is integral to the whole point of the roleplay. I think there are great numbers of people who need Summitclan to be just the way it is.
