#one species of lungfish has EXTERNAL GILLS as juveniles which is so fucked up i think.#what if your lungs were outside your body.#also some lungfish like the south american lungfish are OBLIGATE AIR BREATHERS? They fucking come up for air!#when youve evolved to deal with droughts and drying up bodies of water so much you say Fuck it. give me air#like they don't have.. gills... i mean they do but they dont work. they dont use them.#only the Australian lungfish uses air breathing as a supplement to gill use.
