speak your truth millie!!! as hard as it may sound to lurkers or even readers who don’t give feedback, it is literally so undermining to writers bc we get all these requests and hardly ANY feedback. i feel like there’s no point and it makes me lose my interest in it! it’s been a few days since id logged out and i logged back in and saw only a handful of feedback comments (just like 3-4) and the rest was just likes like ??? idk this totally needed to be said and i couldn’t have said it better than your eloquence!! fucking go off!! do what u wanna do bc either way ur amazing and u kick ass!!

this is from my last fic, the mafia collection. 0 comments? less than 20 rb’s with feedback? i haven’t published anything since because it made me sad to see that it wasn’t worth commenting on. even just a “<3” is so simple to comment on, i really don’t think writers should have to ask for comments n reblogs, n really, likes do absolutely nothing except accumulate, the algorithm here is not the same as instagram or twitter.

i don’t know how many lurkers or anything i have here, i don’t know how many people read my works without liking the fic. what i know is that almost 1000+ settled with liking and didn’t consider to reblog or comment. and that means that my work wasn’t worth a comment or reblog, it was fine n so i’ll give it a like. and that hurts. i received about 3 responses via inbox for this one, and that really made my day. so yes, it does need to be said. so please, please interact with your writers. maybe you don’t have to comment, just send us something through inbox to let us know you enjoyed it, or had something to add. feedback and interaction stop writers from quitting. i mean it.
