It was Saturday night and while most weekends Bryce was usually out with his friends, this weekend he just wanted to stay in and relax. He had a busy, trying week and decided time spent by himself with his black lab, Shadow, nestled upon his side watching movies and eating junk food was the perfect solution to wind down. Currently he had the first Fast and Furious movie popped in his DVD player, curious as to how far he could get into the series in one night. 

It had started storming shortly after the movie started, evident in the way Shadow was acting. His dog had hated storms since he was a pup and it was habit for him to cling to his owner’s side. But Bryce did not expect his dog to jump up and bark at the door out of nowhere. There had been a small knock on his door, one that was drown out by the storm, but Shadow had heard it. “T’is okay,” he cooed, petting the dog as he made his way to the door. He unlatched the lock, speaking before he saw who was in front of him. “Isn’t it a little late, and wet, to be -- ?” he questioned teasingly before his eyes landed on the woman in front of him, stopping his words in their tracks.
