I want to make a list of my JJK theories and opinions so we got (part 1 bc I know I'll have / remember more later).
-let gege cook, everyone will be fine, chill tf out (I have rambled about this in other posts so I'll just leave it at that here)
-Toji and Geto's worm is like banana fish (the drug from banana fish that makes someone delusional, easily suggestible, and violent until they self destruct. Geto lasted a lot longer than Toji under its influence bc he had his rituals of meditations, affirmations, and strong ethics. His cursed energy would have also fed the worm, though it had been trained to feed off of the soul when it was with toji). It eats away at their souls/BRAIN so Kenjaku can get into a new skull will little resistance. Remember when Geto was unconscious and Toji said the thing about monkeys? Then Geto kept repeating that kind of thing (but he never rly acted like he believed that. He was just trying to keep his daughters and innocent youth safe from becoming skapegoats like Rika was. He saw that the cult and the village would repeat their cycles and more would be hurt in the future. He couldn't redeem those adults so he killed them.) I go into this theory a good bit in my longest/first jjk fanfic, and I AM DYING for gege to confirm this. I also ofc think that Kenjaku set up the worm and Toji to find each other. Maybe by throwing it into the zenin curse pit.
-kenjaku hit Rika with his car, or at least manipulated someone else into doing it (which seems to be the theme here, the way he made geto and yuta fight, for example. It's suspicious that Yuta and Yuuji were both from Sendai. I'm sure that he was keeping an eye on them both. We see nanako and mimiko at yuuji's school in that one manga panel in the beginning.
-the prison realm can be used for time travel (since Gojo first got sealed I was expecting him to break out. And then I was expecting him to be so understimulated in there that he'd figure out how to warp time. Dude can already warp space, what's the difference?) and Hakari even suggested using the prison realm for time travel so EVERYTHING'S GOING TO BE FINE they just have to go as far as they can without using it first so they can learn what to do the next time, yeah? I also had a dream about this and Gojo told me that Sukuna didn't feel the time loop, but the rest of us knew it was our second time (at least) going back and trying to defeat him. Which doesn't mean that I'm right but it was nice ok 😭
Theories that have been proven right or wrong by now
-I've been saying from the beginning that Yuuji and Sukuna share a common ancestor and that's why he can be a vessel. I was right!! But I didn't know he was also born with a fingie
-sukuna has six eyes (this has since been disproven but I used to think so)
-the way that RCT works between two people
CHAPTER 261 SPOILERS ON THIS NEXT ONE but I hope ur caught up by now.
-yuta should use as many techniques as possible in Gojo's body bc when Gojo returns to it, then he will be able to learn them as well. Kenjaku was able to retain techniques from his previous bodies, so even if all he transfers is the copy technique, that's fkn useful too.
-there is no chemistry between Yuki and Choso. That concept feels fucking forced and gives me the ick so hard.
-yuki is a terrible influence. She has good intentions, but she isn't present enough to be helpful - showing up in shibuya after Mahito was absorbed, for example. Not keeping in touch with the sorcerers who were involved in that. Not to mention the shit with Geto. She started the whole "what kind of woman is your type" thing and it's her fault that todo beats people nearly to death for giving an answer that doesn't match his own stupid taste (it took several watches for me to forgive todo for beating up megumi tbh)
-todo is also Kenjaku's son, and possibly Yuki - tho yuki is more vibes than evidence. All of Kenjaku's confirmed kids have a strong resolve, and false memories with Yuuji. But I think that kenjaku, in a male body, would be a total slut. His motivation for anything is that maybe it'll be interesting, or funny, he's just here for a good time. I think that he wouldn't even know how many kids he has, and that by having an unknown number possibly out there, it would bring up unexpected sorcerers. The frame where kenjaku asks why don't you heal yourself and yuki says I don't want to... That feels confirmed for me but I know it isn't solid evidence.
-I think kenjaku set up yuki to meet todo bc that feels too sus as well but I forget my logic on that one lmaoooo everything is their fault tho

What is your opinion about Machi and Kakeru?
So sorry for the late response, I was wanting to make sure I was caught up bc I sensed we'd get more development of them, but then I forgot lmao, still considering FB seems to be in its winding down phase, I think this could be a good time to review some thoughts and lay out my hopes for bits we might be able to squeeze in
Kakeru
Honestly, the archetype he comes from of "loud comic relief that annoys quiet, straight-laced counterpart" can be very hard for me to enjoy, especially with the realistic nature of the student council, I've had my own harrowing experiences trying to wrangle together highschoolers into accomplishing something, and so a lot of his early behavior was too familiar for me to enjoy
That said, as he opened up about himself I did enjoy him much more, he pushes Yuki in good ways and can be a bit of a grounding force, and can bring out his teasing side (love that when yuki is putting Tohru in the mom-zone he argues back that mommy kinks are a thing) Also his relationship with Machi is very sweet, I love his little shows of protectiveness
Machi
I've been curious about her for the longest time, there's a lot of weight put into the way she occupies Yuki's attention, especially that imagery of her breaking down the door when Yuki got trapped in the closet, as we've gotten to know her, I again like her relationship with Kakeru and her flustered nature is very cute, I enjoyed her focus episode we got in s3, it was a really good example of Yuki's personal growth from his relationship with Tohru letting him be there for others, I feel though as if we are only know getting to know her, and I hope her arc isn't finished
Shipping
lmao not in the question itself, but looking at the fandom, I thought this might be a good time to get some of my feelings on the two most popular Yuki ships out
I know I am in the minority for believing Yuki's feelings for Tohru were romantic (like you don't blush so hard you transform when your mom calls you by your first name) But I think regardless of one's interpretation, it is obvious Yuki wants an equal relationship and considering the way he's been caught up in his own baggage, he's never been able to help Tohru in return like Kyo has
Going back to that image of Machi breaking down the door, it is hella powerful and spot on visual language, suggesting a way Machi can reach Yuki in a way Tohru couldn't and with the talks and chalk scene (which had me gasp from how smooth it was) Yuki definitely seems to be in a place where he can be a good partner
My one concern is that we haven't really seen concretely what Machi "does" for Yuki, I don't want to be cruel and act like support between two people always has to be completely balanced, and I am a general fan of the ship dynamic "character A helps out character B with trauma" but after getting the emphasis with Yuki/Tohru and all that build-up with Machi in general, I would like to see the dynamic fleshed out/strengthened a bit more
Which when we look at who has gotten Yuki to "open the lid" Kakeru definitely fits that role, not to mention Takaya likes to pair up a couple and develop them side by side, my biggest problem with them though comes down more to taste, for one, the ship dynamic of "A lovingly annoys B" is one I tend to hate lmao and tbh I just have trouble seeing Yuki attracted to men
Even taking off my shipping googles, Yuki just never seems comfortable with queerness as a concept, like he's very defensive over how the student body will feminize him and has a lot of screen time with canonically queer characters like Ayame and Hatsuharu, and while when it comes to their sexuality, he has outright disdain for the former and confused patience for the latter, it gives very big "straight guy who has had a decent level of exposure to queerness but still doesn't really Get It"
Now ppl say his mom thing with Tohru sounds similar to comphet, and I can definitely see some versions of that, but for all Takaya likes to play with queerness, her writing is still very cishet, she just doesn't have the skills to articulate all the subtleties I'd want from a narrative like that, in the hands of a more talent writer, I think it could be great, but as of canon, there just isn't enough foundation to make me interested in exploring that interpretions
That said I totally get why people would like either of them with Yuki, so most of this is just me splitting the hairs about my personal taste lmao

Tumblr media
In preparation for the following year, practices between both the girls and boys Volleyball Clubs were more frequent which allowed the current Captains to collaborate ideas and strategy for the second years who'd soon be taking their places. Safe to say the third years weren't overly involved having finished their final season but remained present to issue advice and techniques to underclassmen making their mark.
It was suspected that Oikawa would recommend Yahaba for the Captains role - you'd agree, considering he's the only one Mad Dog really listens to besides Iwaizumi (he is improving you'd noted). During that time, it had become even clearer to the Volleyball players of Seijoh that there was definitely an unyielding connection between the two of you - the boys learning that a little more harshly during one particular session.
Kyōtani was marginally later than usual since the Coach issued instruction regarding his attitude, so the teams were already training by the time he arrived. The Spiker went to swap the lighter material of his black armhole vest for his #16 Jersey, the lower half already sporting the VBC uniform due to the heat and convenience - however, any intention was overshadowed the second he'd heard your cry.
It was a whine from across the gymnasium, a pained one if he'd deciphered it correctly - within a moment he was towering above you, softened glare silently questioning your seated stature.
Your fingers cautiously skimmed over the bruising mark on your left thigh, a fresh one to his knowledge and before he could tease or voice concern - he hadn't decided yet - Kindaichi desperately interrupted.
"(L/n)-senpai I'm so sorry! I was practicing my serves and my aim was - I didn't mean to hit you, please forgive me -" It was sheer rambling now, the Middle Blocker guiltily apologetic as he attempted to make amends.
Though before he could kneel down to assess the damage, Kyōtani had jumped in front of you rather protectively like a wolf guarding a wounded member of its pack, he issued a dangerous warning look to the spiky ravenette, who understandably, looked to the older members of the team for assistance.
Kentarō was about to murder him - that is until you'd placed a gentle hand on his exposed shoulder, the Spiker snapping to you with his fiery gaze dwindling to concerned frustration once taking in your unbalanced stance.
Instinctively his arm wrapped around your waist for stability, the force of it narrowing the distance between you somewhat so you could lean on him if necessary and you couldn’t help but think the underlying softness of his actions greatly contrasted his vicious demeanour and sharp tongue.
"Fucking watch it First Year, I'll-"
"’Tani, help me to the bench please? I should be fine in a minute or two, don't worry Kindaichi."
The two teams looked on in pure horror as, if you were going to ask anyone for help, it'd be based on their subliminal tiered list of the most compassionate at the top - regarding Seijoh, your first choice should've been Oikawa or Iwaizumi, Kyōtani ranking at the very bottom of the list (if he was even on there at all). So the fact you'd casually requested assistance from the most aggressive soul in the gym meant you were crazy, the only thing crazier being that he actually did it.
Oikawa went to check on your well-being once Kyōtani had left you on the bench, only to be intercepted by your own Captain - Yuki wearing a suspicious but hopeful expression as they noticed Mad Dog return with furrowed brows and ice pack in his possession.
Of course, you reached out for it - only yelping when Kentarō slapped your hand away with a grunt and you couldn't resist backchatting him. The Captains were prepared to intervene now, before tripping over their own disbelief and attempting to silence one another's adoration as Mad Dog crouched before you.
Though such a considerate action was something you'd experienced on rare occasions, seeing Kyōtani exhibit such decent behaviours sent shockwaves through the entirety of Seijoh.
"Keep this in here to prevent any swelling, Princess." His barking orders coincided with his movements, the blonde lazily resting his free forearm over your right knee to alleviate pressure in his stance whilst the other hesitantly held the ice pack to your left thigh.
"That's the only reason you did this isn't it? So you could relevantly apply that dumb nickname." You didn't receive a verbal answer for your accusation, instead a small smirk and flash of mischief in his eyes was confirmation enough once he'd fluently risen to stand again.
It only took a minute for the mark to disperse, the injury not at all serious much like you'd foretold so you were back to your feet and standing beside an unbothered Kyōtani within moments.
"Hold this." There wasn't an opportunity to rebuke his claim, barely having a second to block the soft material aimed at your body and once identifying the top, your widened gaze graced that of a shirtless Spiker.
You knew he was toned, Oikawa had even acknowledged the incredible muscle prowess of his back and abdominals but he severely understated it. The lad was sculpted like a Greek statue, the team practically paling in comparison and you'd never be able to compare them the same way again after seeing the definition his torso displayed.
Heat flooded your cheeks and god you needed a wall to hold yourself with the sheer breathlessness he’d left you with, the blonde only noticing once drawing his jersey from his bag and nonchalantly placing the back of his hand to your forehead with furrowed brows.
"That ball knock you outta your senses (Y/n)?" His utter obliviousness to the ordeal only made your reaction worse, flustering you the point of no return whilst you waved his hand away.
"Huh? Wha-I no! You just, you didn't e- there's changing rooms ya know!"
"And?"
"Use them!"
"It's just a vest." He gestured to the item hung on your fingers with a dismissive tone, now fully dressed in the Club uniform and ready to play.
"Okay, okay, so if I changed my top right now you'd be cool with it?"
"...Yeah?" He tilted his head incredulously with detectable confusion, still not seeing the issue with your flustered behaviour and crossed his arms defensively.
With a determined pout (and thanking the heavens you opted for a camisole underneath), you did just that, removing your jersey and tossing it at your friend before precariously scanning for a replacement - smirking once landing on the previously put aside vest rather than your own T-shirt.
In a swift movement, you donned Kyōtanis’ airy clothing with a proud smile and hands on your hips in accomplishment - the latter scoffing with a prominent flush crawling across his skin whilst he directed his sharp gaze to the side.
"It's just a vest Kentarō~"
With your smug finalisation at proving your point, you headed back onto the courts with your aggressive friend briskly skidding in front of your path.
"Are - aren't you gonna change back dumbass?" Internally cursing himself for stammering, he once more found his fierce expression faltering at the sight of you.
"Nah, in all seriousness, this vest is much better for the heat. If you don't mind, could I keep it on, I'll wash it afterwards?"
Meanwhile the Team anxiously watched the intense staring competition, expecting Kyōtanis signature deadly glare to send you pleading into submission - yet, instead you cheerfully smiled, ending the standoff with a wink as you strolled past him.
Aobajohsai was left dumbfounded once again, you'd grown more confident in your time around him and Kentarōs’ inflamed irises followed your retreating figure, searing lasers into your back for an extra few seconds before rolling his eyes with a scoff.
“Idiot.”
Upon reaching the Court the guys had possessed, he noted the odd animosity in the atmosphere and multiple sets of surprised eyes lingering on the scene which only sparked up his standoffish attitude once again.
"What?!" Mad Dog savagely barked, glaring at the onlookers who mostly diverted their gazes with a muttering of 'nothing' - of course the Great King wouldn't allow such a favourable opportunity to slide.
"We're just surprised that you have a heart Mad Dog-chan~"
"Tch, at least I have someone to show it to." He snarkily bit back at his Captain as he ducked under the net, the remark sending the Third Years into howling hysterics and Oikawa childishly pouting over his renowned single status.
You overheard the mocking ‘Ooooh’s’ of someone presumably receiving a savage burn from the boys court but essentially shook your head with a snigger, Yuki left smirking at your ongoing obliviousness.
Obliviousness that seemed mutual at this point - or, Mad Dog-chan stubbornly refused to admit his growing feelings to himself, let alone you.
