i know supernatural has a lot of problems that you really can’t look past, it’s kinda just part of the show at this point, but man i do not know why the writers decided that a common theme of sam’s character was going to be sexual assault that just gets treated like a joke. this poor dude has been assaulted so many times and yet not one of those moments was ever really treated with the gravity it should have had. like i know one of the themes of sam’s character (in the first 5 seasons at least) is that he never once gets to make a single choice of his own, everything is decided for him/planned ahead of time (ex: dean’s constant micromanaging of everything sam does, the way sam was manipulated into becoming lucifer’s vessel, etc etc) but jesus man did they really have to use the multiple assault scenes as the butt of a joke every single time
#biggest offender is definitely the ‘season 7 time for a wedding’ episode (at least from the ones i remember off the top of my head)#but jesus man can they just give sam a fuckin break. leave the guy alone jesus#or if you’re gonna do that to him give it some narrative weight like cmon#natposting
