anyways, he was bored, or just relieved of duty for whatever reason, like lunch. he is having chicken nuggets, he is a cannibal, be ashamed H A W K S, smh

anyways, he just shows up at your house, like he lowkey breaks in through the balcony of your apartment, but its fine because you leave it open for him, but normally he texts you to let you know he’s coming but today was the exception because he’s adorable and wanted to surprise!!! you!!! with!!! food!!!

so he comes in, and he sees you are on your couch, just watching your lil anime, and you are SO INTO IT MAN like you are lowkey yelling at the TV whenever a character does something, and when that one character you hate comes on you’re like throwing hands with nothing

keigo is internally screaming because why are you so CUTE

he kinda forgets for a second that you don’t know he’s there, he has no idea what’s going on in this show, and he’s still holding chicken nuggets and fries

this is why he just kinda screams at a character who does something stupid, that totally could’ve been avoided, effectively startling you

now you are both screaming for separate reasons as you turn around to look at him, and now you are panicking because oh no, he KNOWS 

his wings are fluttering and he feels bad for scaring you as he comes up to wrap his arms around your shoulders, “sorry baby! but that guy is so dumb.”

you are MORTIFIED and now you’re like, “oh my god, you must think im so weird-”

keigo is confused, why would he think that? he genuinely doesn’t realize that people make fun of you for watching anime and he’s so confused by it when you inform him that a lot of people tend to find it weird

anyways you probably fell asleep reading manga, or watching anime or something like that, so it’s like 1AM and you were BINGING because that stuff is great and nobody is there to bother you while you read and watch and stuff its you time

and for some reason people have been opposed to this in the past? so now whenever people come to your room your manga are all like lowkey hidden and you make sure there is no evidence of anima

you did NOT want shinsou finding out and thinking you were weird or anything like that, even though liking anime and manga is NOT weird!!!

so you fell asleep and shinsou comes over because he realizes he forgot something in your room, and like the GENTLEMAN he is, he knocks, but you are asleep and do not hear him!

he’s like eh worst case scenario she’s cheating on me and i end up heartbroken, and this is something he genuinely considers sometimes and he would definitely blame himself if he got cheated on

so he sees you sleeping and you are like a mess because you did not intend to fall asleep, so you’re like in your desk chair, the manga is wide open on your desk or your computer is on and there’s the still going anime aksjdhkjdhas

your neck is in a weird funky way that’ll probably hurt in the morning and shinsou is like oh no i gotta move her i dont want her in pain, he is also wondering why you look so cute because what the hell this is unfair stop it

tbh he probably barely notices the manga, like he’ll just nonchalantly close it and place it on your bedside table because reading manga isn’t weird before coming back to you, in the chair, and like picking you up to put you in bed

now you’re blushing but you still launch into an explanation of the entire anime and honestly anime/manga plots are so extensive and cool and well done and that just makes them so fun and complicated to explain

shinsou is trying his hardest to understand but you are very cute as you explain using lots of vivid hand gestures and adorable faces and wow he’s been distracted

will try his hardest to understand so that you can talk with him about it more often, genuinely finds it great watching you tell him about something you enjoy so much and hates that you felt the need to keep it a secret

he wonders how many times you hid away the manga or anime when he came over and feels like an inconvenience 

anyways he really really really likes you so now he just listens as you rant about how cute certain characters are and lowkey gets jealous

Chrom x specifically male protag (fire emblem awakening) female protag version is actually canon but i always HATED how her scenes with him are all cliche anime 'whoops fell into boobs' and 'nobody likes a woman who doesnt cook'. Male protag route is infinately more romantic just cos it actually shows their personalities! I mean if they both had the same dialogue just like most other scenes, i woulda been fine with the fem protag romance geez..

Virion x Panne (also fire emblem awakening) i have no idea why this obscure pairing grasped my heart and why more people dony like it! I like it cos panne snipes back at virion and takes none of his shit like sully, but without the whole 'girl who says she doesnt love him in the first scene eventually loves him if he keeps wearing her down' thing. And i like all the interesting cultural exchange that comes from a really pompous nobleman clashing with a rough and tumble stern fighter from an ancient lost lineage of lapinthropes. I dunno, his development into appreciating women just seems more genuine when you have this sort of auxilary sign that he's changed. He's willing to drop his pompousness and go on a big mountainclimbing adventure just to get her a traditional courtship flower amoungst her people! And its really adorable to see that like.. Its his first time ever getting nervous around a woman, cos this time the feelings are genuine instead of just lust and nothing else. And it was hilarious that he tried to get drunk to get over his fears, and then he fumbled the confession because of it! They have so many great sarcasm battle scenes, its hilarious AND adorable! Oh man and the scene where they actually got really emotional and panne talked about hoping her dead family is watching from the moon, and virion being vunerable about his past and just... AAA its such an unexpectedly good couple for such wildly different charries!!

Avery x Mason (hustle cat) mason is the most badass lady ever holy shit everyone should date her and she should lift them all over her head and maybe seven cars. She's a biker gang badass and a super cake chef and can turn into a cat and just EVERYTHING IS PERFECT ABOUT THIS CHARACTER THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK

Husky and Cooro (+anima) i know theyre just kids but i totally get a precocious crush vibe from cooro, and like it only ever seems that husky gets embarassed over 'but what will everyone think' rather than because he doesn't like him. And husky has a lot of issues with internalized 'i need to be super manly' type anxieties and all.

Quale and Quan (ff9) okay i guess not really a ship but a past ship? I kinda saw them as a toriel and asgore type divorced couple from how stuttery and awkward quale is about how quan left and betrayed qu society. Headcanon that really it was more like 'my boyfriend wants to go adventuring and i wanna stay and live in this safe town, and he decided that adventure was more inportant than me'. I prefer this headcanon cos really neither of them would be at fault here, yknow? Complexity! Also grandpas shipping! Both great things!

Cloud and barret (ff7) cmon yo they have a load of chemistry and have so much in common backstory wise and in terms of putting up a grumpy front and being scared of letting themselves ever love again. And barret is the handsomest character in the game! And he's super tormented and in need of love just ss much as vincent geez, even if he isnt a funky fashion vampire. But he's a BIG HUGS BEAR MAN!! And he has a sweet little daughter! And there's several opportunities for cloud to act nice to marlene and seriously imagine him as a dad!! And barret even does get a 'date' with cloud if you play the game super precisely to unlock that easter egg but its clearly meant to be a joke and all. I hope maybe they could make it more legit in the remake now we're in an era of more lgbt representation and all. Also i feel bad but i never felt any chemistry between cloud and any of the female characters? It seemed like tifa was intended to be his canon love interest and all but i never liked it, and i never felt anything more than bffs with him and aerith. Plus aerith and zack is classic sweet star torn lovers! And then literally no clue why people ship him with yuffie and elena from the turks (???) Try barret sometime. We need more barret fanart in general, even of nobody else likes this ship! Appreciate him!!

Bebop and Rocksteady (ninja turtles) look, 6 year old me wanted them to get married before i even learned that That Thing Is Supposed To Be A Man And A Woman Under God or whatever. Proof that lgbt headcanons of children's media arent just 'adults polluting innocent things'. (Srsly what is that logic? A man and a woman kissinh isnt too sexual for tv but a gay kiss is?) Man, I finally managed to get some of the harder to find later volumes of +Anima and I’m just remembering how much I want to hug Senri, aaaargh!! Like he rarely ever gets any role in the plot and when he does its just like.. plot devices ABOUT him, that everyone else discusses cos he’s indisposed. And sometimes it feels like he’s a lil bit infantalized, and there’s never really any conclusion to any of his plot devicey plots and like.. nobody even tries to explain it all to him. But still I really love him and you can tell that the writer at least tried to make a good representation of a mentally ill character, even if it can get a bit muddied with all the fantasy world metaphors and stuff. or I dunno, maybe it was just meant to be a fantasy world thing and I’m reading too much into it, but I find him really relateable as a neuroatypical person...

Anyway, since this manga series is super unknown, i may as well try and explain it more clearly for my followers who might not have seen it!

+Anima is about a group of adorable kids in a jrpgish fantasy world that experience A Lot Of Tragedy. In this universe there’s a power called +Anima which lets you use the powers of an animal. It’s never fully explained exactly how it works, but the general premise is that it can suddenly manifest in anyone who has the potential, when their life is in danger. And there’s no way of knowing who has that potential before it happens. It’s super sad because +Anima are generally hated by the non-powered human society, so this ragtag group of young kids were all ostracized from their former home and ended up bonding together to survive in a world where they have to live on their own. Their magic animal powers help a bit, but its still just as hard as you could expect for people that age, and that’s the source of most of the sadness. But there’s also loads of cute and funny and sweet slice of life moments and you just really wish for these damn kids’s happiness!!!!

And then the character Senri is the oldest of the kids, but he suffers from selective mutism and general ambiguous mental illness, so he fills the role of the muscle rather than the leader. He’s super quiet and sweet and mysterious but mostly sweet and oh did I mention how sweet he is? Seriously he’s such a kind and wonderful team mom kind of figure and I love him and I get so sad that the story gives him such a tiny role cos he struggles to talk. he usually just gets to be a plot device to shift some heavy thing the younger kids can’t, or to get lost because of his memory problems, or some plot device happens because of his ethnicity, essentially? Cos he’s a member of the Kim-Un-Kur tribe, which is this world’s equivelant of native american societies. they’re a little stereotypical sometimes but generally presented sympathetically and honestly it’s a lot better than expected from a story written by a japanese person. Though it sucks that we get to spend so little time with them cos like.. their society is presented as the One Place On The Damn Planet That Doesn’t Hate +Anima. And maybe they could actually explain a bit of thr mysteries about +Anima that go unsolved for the whole damn series, yo! Like apparantly they’re all +Anima and they’re all the same type of animal too, when as far as we knew before its just random what you get, or based on personality or something. And Senri’s backstory raises the interesting concept that a +Anima can be inherited from a particular individual animal, cos his mental illness is apparantly caused by being tainted by an evil mad bear that killed his father. Like its spirit got sealed inside his arm and his +Anima is the reincarnation of that one bear’s personality, so he can’t control it? LIKE THIS WAS NEVER MENTIONED BEFORE AND NEVER EXPLAINED SINCE!! Does that mean everybody’s powers are the spirit of some animal that was nearby when they first transformed?? Why does nobody show any curiousity and question this premise aaaaaa???

I want to know more worldbuilding so I can better make my own OCs T_T Also Senri is the best and I love him and I want more Senri T_T

And like.. even though I have my complaints about how it was handled, I do really like some things about his whole ‘magical mental illness’ thing. Like the premise is raised that Senri has to be killed to end the legacy of that evil bear, because just like how the evil bear’s son was also evil he will inevitably lose control someday and become just the same. But then the heroes are all like NOPE, and stop this self-proclaimed hero guy from slaying him, and prove that Senri can indeed come down from his Superpowered Evil Side Moment with a big ol hug of love and tears. And the guy is like ‘oh god i was so wrong, I almost killed my best friend’s son for the sake of avenging him, what the fuck’ and just... YES! THANK! Senri never gets magically cured and he also never gets euthanized even in a world that’s saying its ‘the only option’ and ‘he’ll never be able to have a normal life’. Also I like the little ways they showed him finding coping strategies to live with his illness! Like he has a bunch of ‘magical plot items’ that aren’t even really magical plot items. He’s just managed to cope with many parts of his illness through the power of belief that this coping strategy can help him, and its kind of a magic feather effect that he loses control when he loses those items. Like he believes he has to keep his missing eye covered or else the bear will take control of him, and even just having someone find his eyepatch and let him see it again will help him regain control, it doesn’t necessarily actually work. And he has a diary he fills with pressed flowers and other pretty nature stuff he collects along the way, and associating each important memory with a visual or a smell or a texture helps him recall it. He can flip through his book whenever he feels his memory getting wonky. And like.. its super sad because we see how he can’t remember the people he grew up with, because he lost their pages of the book. But we also see that he can start over again and form new memories with them, and we can see how much he deeply cares about everyone he’s ever met, and just how relieved he is whenever he remembers something he forgot. And like.. he only first met the group because one of the protagonist’s feathers got stuck in his book and he was like “??? did I forget why i collected this??” but now he’s formed so many memories with them and loves them so much as siblings that he decides to stay with them even after they help him find his old village that he was kidnapped from. Plus his father is dead and his whole tribe got sold into slavery excpet just one guy, who then tries to kill him, geez. God, poor Senri...
