Welcome to My Collection of Random Thoughts during my nth* rewatch of Good Omens Season 2

*only amazon prime knows the exact number at this point but I’m fairly certain it’s in the double digits

Episode 1: Gabriel’s fly lurking in the box when Aziraphale first takes it inside 👀

Crowley’s promise of “two minutes” basically means that he’s been homeless and living in his car for the past 4 years strictly so that he can be within 2 driving minutes of Aziraphale at all times in case his angel needs him I’m not crying you are

So here I think the key word is “fragile,” Crowley knows they are ostensibly safe from their respective sides but that could change at any moment so he’s basically spent the last 4 years in anxiety-ridden terror hovering as close to Aziraphale as he can to try and protect him from heaven, hell, and anyone else that would want to bring him harm after all that business they pulled in season 1 with stopping Armageddon

Episode 2: I just happened to pause the episode while Aziraphale is lying to the angels about his miracle and LOL Michael really outdid himself here (Sheen, not the Archangel)

Gabriel trying to swat flies and almost smashing the repository of every single one of his memories

So if Good Omens exists in Good Omens, does that mean Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett exist in Good Omens?? Do you think they based their Aziraphale and Crowley characters on Aziraphale and Crowley??

Episode 3: So I’m trying to find any hints or foreshadowing of the Gabriel Beelzebub thing bc tbh I did kind of feel like it came out of nowhere which is really the only issue I have with them. I found this one scene where Beelzebub almost ?? seems to be concerned about Gabriel ?? But it’s blink and you miss it and there could be lots of other reasons why Beelzebub doesn’t want to fail in locating Gabriel (pressure from/leverage over heaven, etc) so idk

Episode 4: So here we’ve seen that Shax can just appear inside the Bentley bc she did it earlier to talk to Crowley. Shax only pretended to be a hitchhiker so she could be invited in because Azirpahale was driving so technically she needed permission to cross the threshold of an angel 👀

This scene will never not destroy me the 1941 flashback is the absolute sOFTEST thing ever to happen on this show

POP goes the Ziraphale

Okay I know you can’t hear it in the gif but just before Nina takes Maggie’s hand, there’s a very quiet miracle noise, like Azirpahale literally MADE Nina dance with Maggie, he said I’m writing a Mina Jane-Austen-Ball-AU and my otp will KISS godDAMMIT

Azirpahale seems lowkey kind of manic this whole scene tho, he’s controlling literally everyone to force Nina and Maggie together and whenever Crowley says anything that pokes holes in Aziraphale’s Magical Jane Austen Ball Fairytale, Aziraphale just straight up denies it. He wants Nina and Maggie to dance and he wants him and Crowley to dance and he refuses to acknowledge anything beyond that.

Is this just Shax insulting Crowley for how much of a nuisance he’s been or a reference to his former status as an angel ???

They’re both completely dismissive of each other when they’re trying to say something important and that’s the main issue they’ve been having this entire season tbh

Episode 6: I think it’s funny that Crowley describes the angels as bees here because in the book, Neil/Terry describe humans the same way. Guess we have more in common than we thought huh?

So the metatron was the one who originally decided Gabriel would be memory wiped and not sent to hell, and he was also the one that decided not to sound an alarm about Gabriel for some reason and said ‘just go find him yourself’ instead. The metatron has definitely got his own agenda and you can bet he doesn’t want Aziraphale up there in heaven because he’s a “leader” and he’s “honest” like that’s exactly what Gabriel was and look where it got him 👀

There’s just something I can’t quite put my finger on about the metatron bringing Aziraphale a coffee from “give me coffee or give me death” and then asking Aziraphale if he’s going to take the coffee he’s giving him…

I have not seen a single person talk about this since s2 came out but Nina literally calls Maggie “angel” because that’s the term of endearment they hear Crowley using for Aziraphale !!!! I’m still going fERAL over this and I can’t believe no one else is eitHER

Something about this part of The Final Fifteen compared to this scene from the first episode is so representative of the entire season. Azirpahale keeps saying “my way or get out” and Crowley finally hits a wall and can follow Aziraphale no further. So he does just that. He goes.

I’m sure a lot of us by now have seen this post that brings up how Aziraphale literally pushes the remains of Crowley into his mouth and swallows and it’s the only thing I see when I watch this now

We still don’t know for certain if Crowley queued up this song to play on their way to the Ritz or if the Bentley started playing it all on its own and it’s driving me insane

Basically how I am doing after my Truly-Alarming-Number-th watch of this traumatizing episode/season. WELP hope you enjoyed this garbage dump of my thoughts and feelings time to go cry for a bit again BYE

I've seen a few posts going around in the past, probably few months, critiquing the fandom "there's no other explanation" line about shipping and like— that's fair. It does get overused these days. People can be obnoxious about it with regards to Their OTP when there are in fact very reasonable platonic explanations that other people want to explore, not to say you can't see it in a romantic light but that not everyone is interested in doing so. Extremely fair.

However... that line very much grew out of the era of scraping for crumbs of queer content, when fans were regularly told that scenes could not and should not be read as romantic because they were queer, when queer coding had to be done entirely under the radar, using as much as creators could get away with, that the explanation was always going to be Anything But queerness. Yes, I think the phrase has lost a lot of that currency in this day and age and again, I think critiques of its current usage are fair. But I don't think that's always been the case, because when the characters are eyefucking in every episode and saying lines about how their souls were made for each other or some shit and the creators say pointedly that they are Very Good Friends but we could all still count the number of same sex couples from prime time television on our fingers then the "how the hell else am I meant to interpret this? There's no other explanation!!!" sentiment takes on a very different tone

Idk it's just one of those things where I read the post and I'm like... I don't think anything you're saying here is wrong but I think you're missing a very important chunk of context. This phrase didn't just materialize; it gained its space in fandom vernacular for a reason. It may have outlived its utility but that doesn't mean it never had one.

(a) The degree to which - at least in the spaces where I happen to sit - everyone is encouraging everyone else to like their thing, whatever it is. It seems very much "yes, and..." most of the time, and I love that.

(b) The range of styles in the art, in particular - from terribly silly to terribly dramatic, often from the same person. (Also the fact that all of them can draw these terribly detailed robots at all; that is cool in itself.)

(c) The kindness; the number of people who draw or write or otherwise leverage their skills to help other people out, or who spent their time doing really important charitable work in the real world.

(d) because I'm on a roll - the sheer inventiveness of some of the world-building (which canon gives you hooks for, but still...)

3. a character that fandom has helped you appreciate

Optimus Prime, at least in some of his incarnations...

6. something you see in art a lot and love

A really terrifying amount of detail - often labelled as "just a doodle". Also the way people get the reflection of light off metal just so. And the way some of the artists convey a sense of movement.)

9. a ship that isn't your OTP but that you enjoy

Oh, there are lots of these... Starscream/Deadlock; Soundwave/Ravage; your Soundwave/Starscream/Knockout/Breakdown; Soundwave/Jazz/Blaster, and loads more. I expect @lord-squiggetits will sell me on Pharma/Tarn soon enough too...

13. your favorite type of fandom event (gift exchange, ship week, secret santa, prompt meme, etc)

I like gift exchanges the best to participate in on a personal level; there's something cool about doing a gift to one person's spec and being sure it'll really work out in a way that makes them happy. And I've got some really cool stuff in exchange. In terms of the greatest happiness of the greatest number in pure fandom terms, I think ship weeks probably do it; they generate lots of fic and art that is tailored to individuals who like that ship, and they promote the fic/art such that I'd imagine writers/artists get more interaction. But the charity things like fth and individual offers have to be the best of all.

That's my atttempt number mumblemumble of an idea where Wheeljack (TFP) takes a big hit to the head and loses his memory of basically the entire war, and Team Prime gets to experience what he was like before The Cynicism(tm) ate his soul.

It's one part long-form thesis of "G1 and Prime Wheeljacks aren't that different, you cowards" and one part a grand complicated narrative to make the OTP kiss -- interacting with Wheeljack when he's trusting and relaxed is a new experience for everyone except Bulkhead (and even he gets to experience new sides of him, they did meet when they were both already Wreckers) and it hits Bulkhead right where it hurts because oh fuck he yearns he wants he always wished he could have a future with Wheeljack and now it looks like the Wheeljack that he loved might be gone and it's not fair for him to project those feelings onto Jackie as he is now, so he's happy and also kind of dying on the inside about it

and meanwhile Wheeljack (not stupid) is like "oh no hello soldier", his crush on Bulkhead re-emerges immediately but without the buffer of shared history he has no options but to be terribly horribly awkward about it. And Bulkhead being astonishingly nice to him doesn't help. Basically, for him this is a romantic comedy with the slight mishap that apparently his memories don't stay where they're supposed to but whatever he's a genius, he can work with that.

The biggest reason that one isn't yet gone anywhere is that I can't get the structure to come together so there's basically no quotes I can share T~T) I welcome you to contemplate the mental image of Wheeljack being like "OH thank Primus I thought I was about to make a fool of myself. I'm sure you've known me long enough to know I can't talk to a pretty mech to save my life. The other option would have been me making my stupid one-sided crush your problem for thousands of years" when he and Bulkhead finally have the Were We Actually Involved conversation at one point.

Before I answer, which Wave? I think you probably mean Soundwave but you could have also meant Shocky.

OK this is anon so you won’t know I asked.  I’ll just have to do both.

Starscream/Shockwave: maaaybe? could be fun! Mad science love affairs are always fun, and you know that each of them has at least one angle, usually more.  I would like to see this in a fic. I’m particularly fond of Shockwave discovers An Emotion fics so I am all for it.

Starscream/Soundwave: NOPE

This is almost NOTP for me, but it’s not as much of a NOTP as Cosmos/Soundwave is, so at least there’s that for ya?

First of all...Ravage/Soundwave is my OTP, except in Cyberverse where there’s no evidence Ravage ever existed. Now, Soundwave has two hands (and an immense number of cables even in G1 where you only see them a couple times). But I prefer that his other hand be attached to either Jazz or Megatron.

If they do it in Earthspark I will be very disappointed unless it’s a “Soundwave has two hands” situation involving both Ravage and Starscream.  I don’t know enough about ES Starscream to have an opinion on whether he is good enough for my space husband, but...Ravage/Soundwave is my absolute OTP, and in Earthspark, they have shown us all the cassettes giving up on Soundwave except Ravage. I know that it’s probably not going to happen because idiots will consider it bestiality despite the fact that she’s smarter than Bumblebee is, but that doesn’t mean that anything which replaces it will be easy for me to love.

In Cyberverse, Ravage doesn’t exist, but in Cyberverse, Starscream is the absolute worst, and Soundwave is as always the king mech of my heart. Plus, Soundwave and Hot Rod have hearts in their optics even at first when they’re still annoying each other, so in CV I ship Hot Rod/Soundwave, and yes, Soundwave has two hands, but CV Starscream is a Quint collaborator who tried to destroy their universe.  I like Starscream generally, but not this one.

In G1, I can’t see it.  Soundwave is deeply loyal to Megatron and Starscream keeps trying to murder him.

In Prime, people who write this are almost always Megatron haters and Autobot stans. And they make Soundwave helpless, which I hate. Megatron is pretty gross in TFP and he’s terrifying, but he respects Soundwave and they’re obviously very close. Every Starscream/Soundwave TFP fic I have ever read involves Megatron raping them both and usually getting one of them involuntarily pregnant, at which point they flee to Optimus and his amazing Autobot healing spike.  Gross. This makes me puke.

Megatron is an asshole when his brain is on dark energon, but he loves Soundwave at least as a friend, and since he was an ex-gladiator turned freedom fighter, I really don’t see Megatron raping anyone ever. Addictive, hard drugs make you do worse things than you’d ordinarily do, but usually they only make you do things completely outside your moral compass if you’re desperate to get them and someone else who has them is making you do that thing.

Ravage is canonically dead in TFP, but I like to think that Megs and Sounders both loved her and that this might even be part of what’s making Megs so whack, although he’s clearly not over his divorce from OP.

Anyhow, it’s possible that I could like this maybe if the people who wrote it weren’t always trying to make me pity them both and worship OP’s dick.

In IDW1, even Riptide, who is not on anyone’s top 10 IQ list, has managed to notice that Ravage was in a messy triad with Megatron and Soundwave and that Ravage is being forced to make a decision that Ravage does not want to make or acknowledge. The way Rav and Wave met in IDW is super romantic, and nothing shouts “broken triad” like telling your lover to go murder the other third of your triad when that person betrays you both and also you want to know which of you two she loves most.  Meanwhile, I don’t see enough interaction between Starscream and Ravage to have any basis for shipping them.

In TFA Soundwave is robot Pinocchio and not really Soundwave so who cares?

In the UT Soundwave is a Unicron agent and Starscream is desperately trying to be good so I don’t see that happening either.

My dear friend my beloved thank you for giving me another opportunity to dump more of this bullshit on you.

Blorbo: Pangzi my beloved my everything. He's supposed to be the fat guy comic relief but carries the series honestly.

Skrunkly: I'd say Zhang Rishan but just the bright eyed young man he is in Mystic Nine, not yet the Juimen President and weirdo that he is in Tomb of the Sea. Off topic but it's very important to me that I tell you about this one scene from Tomb of the Sea in which he and Liang Wan, a miraculously still alive female character and his love interest are leaving the desert and she tells him "hey I'm still kinda in love with you" to which he responds "sorry. I've dedicated my life to Fo Ye, my dead boss from the 1930s." And then she blasts him with pepper spray. In the desert.

Scrimblo bimblo: Ba Ye. This funky little man. I've only had him for three episodes of Mystic Nine and I love him.

Glup shitto: Kanjian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what has made my brain latch onto that slingshot himbo but I don't care. Highlights include teaching Wu Xie how to use a slingshot so he can cheat on a test and a guy dragging him into a meeting like "hey I found this guy outside can we keep him?"

Poor little meow meow: Wang Can I guess. He's an asshole but by god was he fun. And Hei Xiazi, who only falls under the pathetic category.

Horse plinko: Liu Sang. He gets whumped to hell and back and we love to see it.

Eeby deeby: Oh absolutely Chen Pi. I've only had him for three episodes of Mystic Nine and I hate him. The living embodiment of "I also choose this guy's dead wife" and a freak (derogatory) among freaks (affectionate). Crimes include wanting to fuck his master's wife and putting Zhang Qiling in a basket.

Step 2: Select Organisation Type

Select your Business or Organization Type from the drop-down menu. Before proceeding, check the list of documents required for registration and click on all mandatory boxes before clicking on “Proceed”.

Step 3: Review Terms & Conditions

Please review the Terms & Conditions carefully. Check the box to accept the terms and conditions and click on ‘Proceed’.

Step 4: Verification by Aadhaar:

Under “Registration” tab, fill in the organisation’s detail and click on ‘Next’. Check the Aadhaar option to continue verification. Enter your Aadhaar Number and Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Check the box and click on ‘Verify Aadhaar’.Then, fill in the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

Step 5: Verification by PAN

Select the option to register through PAN then fill in your PAN card details & date of birth before clicking on “Proceed”.Fill in your PAN-linked mobile number and click on ‘Send OTP’.

Select your role within the organization and click on ‘Next’.

After successful verification of Aadhaar or PAN details, fill in your personal verification information.

Notifications: All notifications regarding Latest Bids & Announcements will be published in this section.

Summary: This section displays the following information:

Seller rating: The Score of the seller on Parameters of Quality, Timely Delivery, Reliability and Coverage.

Orders: The number of orders awaiting acceptance by the Seller and the total number of orders pending delivery from Seller.

Bid/RA: The total bid notifications received by the seller for participation (1 Week data). The section also displays the bids participated by the seller where the Technical or Financial evaluation is pending.

Products: The total products published by the Seller on GeM portal and the total number of products pending approval for publishing.

Incidents: The Total Incidents raised against the seller where the Seller response (SCN Response) is pending as well as the incidents raised by or raised against the Seller where action has not been taken by GeM.

Transaction Charges: The Total Transaction Charges Amount paid as well as pending by the Seller.

Catalogue Management: Here, you can add or update your products and services.

Orders: View and manage orders received from government buyers.

Payments: Track the status of your payments.

Total Order Value & Volume: The Seller can see the Total Orders value and total Order volume of all the orders placed.

Order Statistics: Number of Orders at various stages of the Order Processing Lifecycle.
