Meet The Clans!: Marshclan

Marshclan is the home to many cats whom are built for swimming the waters of the salt marsh, with muscular legs and sleek and smooth pelts. They are known for hunting mainly different species of fish or waterfowls, at times even mice that live in the salt marsh. Their skills exceed many of the other clans in mostly swimming and stalking as they can hide themselves within the marsh. Marshclan's special power that they hold is the power of stealth. The chosen cat has the ability to move silently without being discovered along with no scent to see them coming.

_-Leader-_

Nightstar is the leader of Marshclan. She's as stern as she is kind, and prefers to avoid conflict when it's the best option for her clan. She often thinks before acting, and always thinks of the best course of action for her clan. She's extremely loyal to her clanmates and enjoys small talk.

_-Deputy-_

Redskies is the deputy of Marshclan. They're often described as lazy or laid-back, but they are constantly thinking and coming up with ideas and plans to report to the leader. They do not believe in Starclan, but respect the cats who do. They're knowledgable and patient.

_-Medicine Cats-_

Otterpool is the Medicine Cat of Marshclan. He's described as a flirtatious asshole. He grew up as a rogue and later in life joined Marshclan where he first trained to become a warrior. Later, the clan realized his calling to become a medicine cat where he now resides with his grumpy personality.

Mintleaf is the Medicine Cat of Marshclan. She's very curt towards any cat, and while having good intentions, she doesn't seek friendship and drives other cats away easily. She's a hard worker though, and was picked by Otterpool to be another medicine cat along side him. She continues to be dilligent in her job as a medicine cat.

Wisppaw is the Medicine Cat Apprentice of Marshclan. He's quite skittish, but has a great affinity in remembering herbs. He was abandoned as a kit, but grew curious when he observed Otterpool working on other cats. He grew a passion for medicine and became an apprentice when he was old enough.

_-Prophecy Cats-_

Margaypaw is the Starclan Prophecy Cat of Marshclan. He looks strikingly similar to a margay cat and is described as exceptionally shy. He is deeply loyal towards his clan and is always looking for ways to improve himself to gain praise from his mother.

Shadepaw is the Dark Forest Prophecy Cat of Marshclan. He has the power of Stealth, and usually keeps to himself, but enjoys sneaking up on other cats. He's insecure about messing up on anything that he makes a plan for. He tries to be a perfectionist wherever he can.

So, I don't usually post my art here, but I'm thinking of changing that, so here's a bit of a throwback. Otterpool (then Otterpelt/star) is my oldest original character. Literally just baby's first OC conceived in my middle school's cafeteria. And let me tell you, this gal has been through a LOT. First she was a RiverClan fanfic prophecy kit, then she was a roleplay character with so many dramatic death scenes that never stuck that my friends and I started affectionately calling her Otterstar the Immortal, then she was a background warrior in a fanmade Clan for a fic that got scraped. And now she's here, my way of introducing my art beyond little doodles to Tumblr! Maybe she'll show up in a comic or something someday, but until then, I hope her little smile charms you as much as it charmed my friend who watched me make this ref.

I'll bite tell me about your OCs, are they in the OG Clans or do you have OC Clans? favorite OC from each Clan?

Okay! So I actually have a handful of OCs for both categories, but I’m gonna talk about the OG clan OCs first. Most of these fellas are active during the Dovemask storyline that I’ve mentioned before, aside from Thunderstrike, who predates it. For each clan except WindClan, we’ve got:

Puddlenose, SkyClan warrior who has issues climbing trees due to his eyesight but can track super well. He’s baby and the thing I love most about him is his relationships with his siblings.

Thunderstrike, ex-ThunderClan warrior who uh. Did Some Stuff and exiled herself. Said stuff involved the death of one of the ThunderClan medicine cats. Fun times. She’s also the reason why clan cats don’t name their kits using founder prefixes anymore.

Otterpool, RiverClan warrior and ex-kittypet who joined the clan after getting separated from his twolegs, and ended up sticking around due to the prodding of his now boyfriend, Breezewhisker. He also has a bad habit of doing the cat chirping thing at birds, which Breeze finds adorable.

And finally Snailflame of ShadowClan, who I made mostly because I came up with their name first and decided they needed to exist. I’m love them.

As for my non-OG clan OCs, I’ve got Salt and Shell, who I honestly adore. Their entire deal is that they learned stories of the Clans from cats who stayed behind after the Great Journey, and then went to the coast in search of their missing mother and forming a community over there.

£2.5 million cash boost for garden towns

A £2.5 million cash boost to speed up the delivery of over 155,000 new homes across England, has been announced by the Communities Secretary Sajid Javid on 3 October 2017.

Nine locally-led garden town developments, from Bicester to Taunton, will each receive new funding to fast track the build out of these large housing projects.

The new funding will support local authorities and communities in delivering ambitious proposals, speeding up the progress of developments through additional dedicated resources and expertise.

Garden towns being supported by government are committed to delivering high quality, well-planed and well-designed new communities that will stand out as exemplars of good development in years to come.

The funding will support the development of nine new locally-led garden towns at Bicester, Didcot, Basingstoke, Otterpool Park in Kent, Aylesbury, Taunton, Harlow-Gilston, North Northamptonshire and North Essex.

Communities secretary Sajid Javid said: “Locally-led garden towns have enormous potential to deliver the homes that communities need. This new funding will help support the construction of more than 155,000 homes in 9 places across the country. New communities not only deliver homes, but also bring new jobs and facilities and a big boost to local economies.”

The government’s Housing White Paper sets out bold new plans to ensure the housing market works for everyone, so that more people can have the security of a decent place to live.

Across England, government is supporting the locally-led development of 10 garden towns and cities, as well as 14 garden villages – with the combined potential to deliver 220,000 new homes across England.

A garden town is a development of more than 10,000 homes. Garden villages are smaller settlements of between 1,500 and 10,000 homes.

Government is encouraging different and ambitious solutions to fix the housing market. There are pioneering examples of this already taking place in garden towns around the country: for example, as recently announced the Graven Hill site in Bicester Garden Town is providing 2,000 serviced plots for self builders.
